Personally, we like to hang out onboard, get a coffee and read in the lounge near El Bacio. Or go in the sun or in the T pool. Nap time is good too. There are usually small events taking place throughout the day.
We are of the opinion --PLEASE DON'T YELL--that if you've seen one Caribbean island, well........... Plus we live in Florida near some great Spanish history sites in St Augustine.

Thanks all. I guess it was a stupid question about San Juan:rolleyes: I even knew it was a US territory.
We'd like to go from the pier up into Old San Juan to the El Convento hotel. How much about would that be in a cab?
-
Do cab drivers, etc. accept USD in San Juan (for example)? What about St Barts?

We booked inside guarantee on Carnival and Holland America and both times went to a suite for not much more money. But--we've never tried it on Celebrity. It's a chance, you might be lucky or REALLY lucky or be in an inside in the depths.
I think it's fun to test your luck but others don't.

Good advice, everyone! Thanks for answering.

Actually, folks, I'm really not that picky. I eat some fish. However, it just seems unusual that the french/OceanLinersetc. would not have beef on their menu.
I have n o intention of asking waitstaff to run all over the ship. I was just asking a question. No need to get all critical about a question.

Booked Aqua class back in May for a cruise in November. We used an online TA. We got a great rate for the cabin and $300 OBC from Celebrity, as well as $75 from the TA. Each and every time I have called the TA about one thing or another , I have them check that we do indeed have the 300 from Celebrity. They check and "yes" is the answer.
Can I trust Celebrity? I read so much about their different answers and the website (which I have no luck with either) that I'm nervous.

I've checked menus out in both places. There are several menus in Blu where there is nothing I want --not a big fish eater and no way do I eat game. The french/whatever specialty restaurant has nothing on the menu that I would want except the chateubriand for two and I'm one.
I'm too "seasoned" to experiment much so can I ask for beef or pork in these venues?

We booked in May for a November Caribbean cruise on Constellation. We live in Florida so we received a good price for A1(resident rate) plus $300 OBC.
I called in June about 123Go and asked if we could get the drinks package.
Sure, they said, but the price would increase by $900. No such thing as free.

Cle-guy: Your posts always make so much sense to me.

We went from an inside guarantee to a Neptune suite for a total cost of $750 per person on a Holland America 7 day Caribbean last November.
Pure luck. I just happened to open my email seconds after the offer was posted on their website.

With all the terrorist incidents around the world, I can't help but think of
"what if?" on a cruise.
What security measures are in place? I know they look at luggage, etc. But, what about after port stops?
I'm not going to stop going, I am just interested.

If you snorkel at all, there is a lovely state park on the east/southeast side of Oahu. I think it called Waimea (any map will show you). You can see some amazing fishes close to shore, including Humunukuakalaha, the state fish of Hawaii.
Also, drive out from Honolulu on the H-1 highway towards Kailua. As you come through the tunnel, the view before you is breathtaking

A REALLY BIG thank you to everyone who has posted with really excellent ideas.
We are now pumped up again about our trip.

Thank you for the replies and the help.
DH uses a cane now and if he is really "hurting" he uses a walker but only in the house.
We are also going to Labadee, St Croix, St Barts and St Maartan. Probably the only place we'd really want to go would be Labadee. We've been to St Maartan and did an artist tour which got us all over the island.
If need be, we'll stay on the ship! We just love the whole experience on the ship.

I did post the same question in the disabled forum but since they led off with 2007 posts, I'm not sure how many answers I will get.
If anyone has any ideas for San Juan particularly and would be so kind, I'd like to hear your opinions.
We would really like to do a food tasting tour in Old San Juan but there are stairs and hills. I really don't know if he can do this. He certainly gets around fine but extended walking is not possible.
-
DH cannot walk far although he is not disabled and will not have a wheelchair or scooter on our cruise in November 14.
We are really interested in old San Juan and some of the tasting tours but it looks like they may require more walking than he can do (up steps and hills)
Any ideas?

Another question: In someone's pictures of Labadee, I saw clamshells on the beach. Is there some way to reserve one? Or is it first come, first serve?
-
I read on another thread that there were stray dogs on the property, hungry and sad. Is this true?
-
We can only hope we never have to in real lifeboats in a real emergency. We'd all be goners if there is this much chaos during "practice"!
-
The ones I've looked at look interesting. I'd like your advice!

I have spent the day reading and re-reading CC . And Googling, but I get 2012 and 2013 results which are no good in 2014. I would like to see the wine list available for the Classic package.
Also, does anyone have the wine by the bottle list for Blu?

Thanks, Karen

Has anyone done this? It's one of Celebrity's "shore" excursions and maybe others' too.
Husband uses a cane to walk and is not feeble but is not athletic either. Is this doable?

What if you're just the tiniest bit shaky and use a cane to stay steady? Is this doable?
