  1. Okay, not a food tip, but a delicious drink thing we do! We go to the coffee shop (we have cheers) We get 2 Iced Mocca Lattes with no sugar added, then get 1 frozen mudslide (or sometimes 2!) and mix the coffee with the lattes in our tumblers we bring for a late morning treat!! I've added vanilla ice cream too!! YUMMMMO!

  2. If your ship has the seafood shack, get an order of crab legs!! Well worth the price!! YUMMMMMMYYYY

If you do get cheers, make use of the Coffee bar, so much better than the regular coffee they provide!

I'm actually thinking about trying another cruise line at some point, but we've had so much fun on our Carnival trips, I'm a bit nervous! You'll have to let us all know your thoughts!

    Enjoy your cruise!!

Not a problem, make your rounds on day 1, once they associate you two together you won't have any problem. If you find a place you really like to hang out, like Elaine5715 said, a few tips go along way.

Exactly! We never had a problem ordering 2 with our SS cards! Once they get to know you're together!! Have a blast!!

  4. We are mainly beer drinkers, so we'd probably not get our money worth, BUT, we DO get cheers and make the most out of it! We get specialty coffee, waters, milkshakes etc.... We try other drinks during the week, that if, we didn't have cheers, we probably wouldn't do! I like having it paid off before we get on the ship! It's just nice to have a small bill at the end (last cruise it was $32!!!)

If you get it, make the most of it (there's a ton of threads on here to research that topic)   We get 2 iced mocha lattes every late morning and then get one mudslide at the bar, we use our tumbles and throw half the mudslide in each with the (unsweetened)  coffees and enjoy our first drink of the day!! Usually by day 2 or 3 the bartender mixes them in our tumblers for us!!

    Have a great time!!

  5. we always tip the steward , waiters in the MDR,  and our bartenders with extra cash, if we feel we received extra service, we'll compensate! I'm a bartender, and appreciate the tips! I do not prepay the gratuities and would cancel them if we felt we had a bad experience. (we haven't had to do that yet)  Maybe we do it because it makes US feel better? Who knows? It's just what we do!  just our choice!

  6. duck tape! (a smaller roll) It fixes almost anything! Suitcase breaks, ripped clothes, cord repairs, etc. It's come in handy!  Plastic bags for laundry from the last day (swim wear etc, that won;t dry)  I pack my toiletries in large ziploc freezer bags, this prevents spills from leaking all over! I bring a highlighter to mark what I might be interested in on my Fun Times!

    I'm sure there's more!!

    Have a blast!!

  7. We've cruised on her twice, she is definitely an older ship, but we still had a blast and  even booked the Glory for this year because we love that ship! (it's similar) The staff and crew were wonderful! I guess it's about preference, if you like the new/shiny etc, it might not be the ship for you! It was dry-docked, but still has wear!  We liked it so much, we sailed on her again! Enjoy no matter what you decide!

  8. I agree with the tips already mentioned. We've taken friends on vacations and clearly stated our rules about traveling with us. (behavior, staying together, no complaining, and working out issues if they come up) It was our vacation, and we wanted to be able to enjoy it also.  We have a son, so I have NO clue with girls LOL Best of Luck! Happy Cruising!!

  9. YES!! We went on a short cruise to nowhere out of Tam'pa back in 1992, the ships were MUCH smaller and the cabins very tight!! I was seasick and didn't even try again until 2010 (Carnival Miracle) ! Now we are hooked, already have out next 2 booked, and planning our 30th Wedding Anniversary cruise through Panama for 2021 (we MIGHT try a different cruise line.... MIGHT) Hubs doesn't  like change  😉  We love the fun and casualness of Carnival!

  10. We always get to know a couple bartenders on board, and usually add about $1 each time we go up (we have cheers) . We'll get more generous as the week goes on and we get to know/like certain ones! I know there is a tip written in, but, I've heard too many different ways it gets split, so we bring cash. About $100 in ones, and $100 in fives. We've also left certain bartenders a larger tip at the end, if they made our cruise that much more enjoyable! We like the social atmosphere of sitting at a bar poolside, or the sports bar, and enjoy talking and meeting new people, so a good bartender makes that worth it for us! (but that is what WE like) Also, I am a bartender, so I can't NOT tip 😉

  11. We treat ourselves each morning with a nice Iced Latte, no sugar, from the coffee bar (free if you have cheers) pour them into our large insulated tumblers, then go order a frozen Mudslide from the bar and pour half into each tumbler! It's a nice, not-too-sweet morning coffee treat! Once we get to know the bartenders, they usually pour it right into our tumblers!

Great info in your review! We have a group going in a few weeks and glad to see info about Amber Cove. This will be my 10th Cruise, so don’t have many questions, but since I’m sharing a cabin with a friend, the safe matters. Is it opened with card or keypad? I’ve learned on previous cruises that if it opens with a card, hotel room keys work! I don’t like having my cc with me every where I go, so this is a great work-around!!

just take an empty gift card, iTunes or target or anything! that's what we do!

  13. We are beer drinkers and have been getting Cheers on our cruises. I like the fact that it's paid off long before we cruise! We use the AARP gift cards to save 10% too! We did the math and we would just about break even, but cheers (as already stated) gives us a little FUN too.Hubs can get a bloody Mary, or we could indulge in a specialty drink, the coffees are great at the coffee shop! Milk shakes are yummy etc! It's up to you, unless you are a very light beer drinker, and don;t plan to use the extras, I'd say treat yourself!! Have a great trip!! 48 days for us!! WOOOHOOOO!!!

  14. We carry on, despite being Platinum. It is for this reason as after lunch, we generally go back and unpack and are well settled before muster.

So, we could carry our suitcases on, get our rooms faster (we’re only gold) with FTTF? Might be worth it to me. Lol

  15. We purchased it for our next cruise, the benefit to me is getting our room and luggage faster! If it doesn't come faster than normal, I probably won't purchase again! I can't relax until I get unpacked!! HA HA that's just me, so the hubs said to get it! (I'm sure I drove him nuts last cruise running back to the room to check) Not sure it's worth the $$, but I got it!!

  16. Just got of her Sunday, maiden voyage after dry dock. She was freshened up with carpet, paint, furniture and best of all she got a new Serenity area.

The Conquest is one of our favorite ships and has lots of newer upgrades with food options and bars.

Is the aft pool still Adults only?
