  1. We went to AAA because we have a membership. They charged us $10 each. My photo was so bad I didn't want to buy it but did just to get out of there. The woman taking it kept saying she couldn't get a shot with my eyes open, insisted I take off my glasses, and overexposed the photo. DH kept saying it's only a passport photo, no one cares.

I went to the FedEx store, and they only had to take one photo. My glasses were on, my eyes were open, and the color was correct! Luckily I don't have to go back for another 10 years <g>.

  2. It's been a while since we've been on Royal, so I guess the next time we cruise we'll get a C&A pin of some sort.

But years ago while on the Monarch of the Seas my MIL bought Royal's logo pin from the gift shop and gave it to me. I wore it on our last RCCL trip, and several crew members stopped me and asked where I got it.

  3. DH said our last HAL cruise was our last with them, he wanted to try a line that didn't have the formal night jacket requirement. I just told him HAL has now eliminated the "must wear jacket" clause, and he's ready to take another cruise with HAL. It will be interesting to see what the dress codes for all cruise lines are like 10 or 20 years from now.

  4. $7/day vs. one bag for $20, no brainer, go with $7/day. You can fit quite a lot in the bag, but I found it wonderful to be able to send out each day's dirty laundry (and since DH likes to put on a fresh shirt twice a day, one bag one time won't work for us).

Oh, there's nothing like the sound of the polite knock on the door and the steward handing you your clean laundry!

  5. We received the Dream Book and I almost tossed it without reading it because we are not planning on taking a cruise for another year or so. But I flipped through it and on the last page is listed the four new items for the Neptune/Pinnacle suites as mentioned by another poster. So I guess I'll save this brochure for future reference!
