No....Its a hard rule the French have.   the manifest has to be closed.    I flew Business and it  made no difference to the cut off time...  Do not forget this is poly-nesia  where it takes 30 min to get a drink....

So are you saying we won't make the 8:20am flight if we take the 5:50am ferry from Moorea?

No..... check in time must be done an hour before departure   Thats 0720     and it takes 20 min to get to the airport from the tine you get to the taxis       What you do is to get off in Moorea the day before. Take the 0600 ferry that gets in at 0645...  you get to the airport by  0700.    Thats what I did...   Stay over in Moorea the night before and ferry in....OR  go direct to Papeete and stay by the airport.    That is the only way Because Airfrance done not  go every day...  you will have to wait several days to catch the next one.     I did this several years ago...  Air france business  is the way to go....... You have to get off in Moorea the day before....the ship will let you if you ask in advance

Is that really enough time to arrive at the airport at about 7:00ish for an 8:20am flight?  We'll be flying in business if that makes any difference.  I just think that would worry me to arrive that late to check in for a trans-Pacific flight.

  3. Air France doesn't fly on Tuesday.  We get off on Monday so have to spend a little time there until the early AM Weds. flight.
Moorea is not our last port.  Raiatea is, so that won't work but maybe what we'll do is get off the ship and take the ferry to Bora Bora for a night, then take the ferry back to Tahiti and stay near the airport for the last night before the early morning flight.

No. I was just off the Regatta last week in Papeete.  The port authorities cleared the paperwork at 8:30am so no one was allowed off the ship until then.
There were some passengers flying Air France that were on the next day’s morning flight.

Okay, that's what we'll do then.  Thought we could make that 8:20 am flight but will just catch the next morning's flight.  Thanks so much.

Best JS on the ship. The balcony is huge, and the WJ has never been an issue anytime we booked that cabin. Just wear clothes if you are hanging out at the railing, because you are visible from above if someone is at the railing on the WJ deck.😇

I agree - it is the best Cat. JS.  We've had it too and loved it.  It's a LONG walk to the midship elevators though.  I counted it last time and it was 117 steps.

Each person in a regular room gets one point.
Each person in a suite gets an additional point.
So your "normal" number would be two points per night, times 9 nights would normally be 18 points.

Since you booked during the promotion, you get double your "normal" points.  Double of 18 is 36 points.

WOW.  That's what I was hoping.  Awesome, thank you so much.

  7. Another points/math question:

We booked before the Sept. cut-off timeframe for double points.

We're in a Cat. GS for 9 nights in total in a suite which gives us double C&A points = 18 pts.

Do we get 18 pts. total (double the usual 1 pt. per night) or 27 pts.? (double the usual 1 pt. per night for the suite + double the 9 base-points for booking during the double-points promotion)?

Help?  Thanks in advance.  Can't get through to the C&A Desk.

No, they're not available to Canadians. Do you have a friend in the US that you could have them shipped to and then they ship it to you? If you live in Alberta I hear the gov't sent everyone some home test kits

I'm in the US so I could receive them for my Alberta Canadian friends perhaps and then ship them to them to use on the last sea day before disembarkation.  That's interesting that they were sent home test kits.  Didn't know.  Thanks for that.

  9. My husband flew into DUB for a cruise that left out of Dover.  Once the ship stopped in DUB, he joined it.  I joined it at the start of the cruise in Dover on my own.  It worked out really well and he said DUB airport was extremely easy to use.
I wouldn't hesitate to fly into another UK city.  The train system is fantastic there compared to the US and it's pretty easy to take them if you don't have a lot of luggage.  I've taken them all over the UK, even when I've had 2 big suitcases and a carry-on on my own.  If I can manage that, anyone can. 😉
