I was recently reading an article about the ships that made Princess and Carnival cruise lines famous so I started digging on some of the post-WWII Holland ships. During my research, I saw how beautiful the Rotterdam was with its Green hull and gold trim. I was wondering what people thought about applying that to either the next Pinnacle class ship or repainting one of the older ships for the 150th anniversary in 2023

ALso what should the third Pinnacle be named :D

The problem with the new designs is that they were cheaply done. We had a great cruise on the Vista but it is like a Holiday Inn Express off the highway. I hate those hotels.

anygood websites have pictures of the first 7 ships, early menu's, or various chotchies and knick-knacks from the early days of the company?

was he fired or did he just retier? i really like both the more subtle style on the new ships as well as Farcus's style..for different reasons. Personally, my two favorite ships are the Breeze and Sunshine as they act as the bridge from new to old.

I am booked on that cruise around Vancouver Island. If it does not circle the island I will be disappointed indeed.

My very first cruise in 2010 ish was scheduled as this exact itinerary. HAL oversold the cruise and offered us a 7 day Alaska as an exchange. We took the 7 day. I haven’t seen it offered since then and I have been looking. I may have missed it but it’s not a normal itinerary.

We booked this cruise, as the itinerary and the full day in ports was what we were looking for. I think it has been sold out since January. It will be interesting to see how the day at sea (inside passage) plays out. I have no doubts that it will be an awesome cruise.

Vancouver island 😜. I’ve never seen an itinerary like that. Very interesting I’m surprised you can circle the island in a day. It’s 730 nautical miles around. I wonder if the map is misleading.

are there any minor design detail changes between sky and her sister ships?

we actually like both but for different reasons. Both offer good value, great service, and good food.

 

they have one thing in common for us we are very careful when selecting ships and dates on both cruise lines since both have ships that we prefer not to sail on.

I really hope they apply these updated to the Inspiration and Imagination. It looks like they toned down some of the Farcus.

the Wonder and Magic are getting close to 20 years now. I wonder if they are planning to replace and grow the fleet by one by the mid 20's

I would love to see menus from these days! CCL should really pay homage to its first ships after the next batch of ships are finished.

Which one of these is the better time to go? We are trying to travel when it is less expensive but I am a bit concerned it will be too cold.

love it. I think a new cunarder Caronia or Mauretania or other nonqueen namebased off Viking Star design would be fantastic also :):cool:

I will definetly use twin stacks but still figuring out their shape because QE2 onward style stacks don’t really go with Royal class design, especially if there are two of them.

I think another fun design would be Cunard non-queen ship modeled after the Viking Star class :) you should really check out shipbucket.com
