  1. We finished the meal with soufflés, despite Heidi’s protest. Go big or go home, I say!

Heidi had the Grand Marnier and I had the dark chocolate. (Sorry, I broke open before photo. Heidi was already wolfing her’s down. 😂)

Oh, and random photo of cheese cart that was wheeled up to table next to us.

This bottle is a deal on board.  Its a great Pinot (drink this at home often), I pay 55 In NH Liquor stores (state run) for it.  I have seen conflicting if you can order it by the glass with like a 4 dollar surcharge based off Premium.

Man, that is a great price in NH!

I would pay the up charge if I could find it by the glass.

  3. For next course, Heidi had the morel risotto and I had the Scallop Wellington. This scallop was the only “fail” of the evening. It had been sitting around to long after baking and the Diver Scallop was actually just pieces of scallop. I didn’t finish. (I did finish Heidi’s risotto.)

  4. After the officers party in Michael’s, we walked next door to Murano for dinner.

Met with the wine steward/somm, Ivanna, (they’re not true Sommeliers, but that’s a different discussion….) and ordered a glass of the Bertani white blend to start as well as a bottle of the Penner Ash Pinot Noir. (Great price for a bottle when including the discount with the included drink package. Would never see this price point in a restaurant.)

  5. So the Officers party was nice last night. The usual shaking of hands. (Were shaking hands again almost four years after Covid!) Had a chance to chat quite a bit with Arjan, the Hotel Director.

The other nice part was sitting at a “real” bar and chat with the bartenders. Started with a Negroni. No large single cube ice, but nice nevertheless!

  6. Thank you everyone for the heartfelt comments about Susie. She was truly a force of nature. The most driven and headstrong person I’ve ever met or known, combined with being an amazing mom and grandmother. I miss her everyday.

Here’s a photo of Susie and her husband Phil on our last cruise together in November 2022. Onboard one of Celebrity’s other S Class ships. She’s wearing one of her amazing hats to hide the hair loss. I think she brought five or six hats with her for this Caribbean cruise. She rocked every one of them!

  7. Dinner last night was Luminae.  We went early (6:00PM), as Heidi was dragging a bit.

Very few tables filled at 6:00, but it was pretty filled at 7:00.

Sorry, no food porn to share.

    The meal was fantastic.

We both started with the tomato soup, garnished with arugula and croutons. (Except no croutons for Heidi because she is Coeliac and therefore gluten free.)

I followed with the escargot ordered from the main dining room menu and Heidi had the burrata.

For the main, we both had the filet mignon.

We were both surprised at the quality of our filets. One of the better cuts, for a filet, that we’ve experienced on a ship.

Our server was Omal.  He was awesome.  Up front he asked if we wanted a slower pace, which is what I’m all about for dinner. Two and half hours we strolled out, completely satisfied. We both passed on dessert. (At least for the moment…..)

  8. Good morning from the good ship Reflection!

This is the start of my morning (every morning) — camped out at Cafe al Bacio consuming double skinny cappuccinos.

It is very quiet here this morning. 7:15AM.

Lost an hour last night on our way to Puerto Rico, plus it’s a sea day.  Good reasons for people to be moving slow this morning, including DW.

  9. Yesterday we flew non-stop Phoenix to MIA. The flight arrives around 9:00pm, thus my desire to stay near airport. Normally stay in the Miami Beach area, but I wanted to cutout some travel time. The EB was nice. Quiet. Busy with loads of cruise passengers.

The wait for bags at MIA was its usual fun process but soon enough I was in my happy place — Hotel Bar. (Channeling my inner GenX! 😂)
