I thought it was odd that even though it got dark here, it didn't really get cooler. It was about 80* and didn't noticeably change during the totality.

Brian and I worked from home today. It was partly cloudy, but cleared enough to see the few minutes of totality. It was way cooler than I even imagined. It was so weird how it got dark and the streetlights came on. I'm glad I got to see that once in my lifetime.

And here we are in the direct path and our son's school is NOT canceled that day. He feels very cheated. 😂

It's not because the eclipse itself is dangerous. It's because they expect thousands of people to travel to our area to view it, which will cause massive traffic/crowding issues. And this eclipse is a bigger deal than most since it's total. Videos of this flood are all over TikTok and it looks pretty dramatic. I'm surprised there's much less talk about it here on CC.

He's 13 and growing so fast!!

Just returned from spending spring break week in Washington, DC, showing Andrew all of the historical sights. We got to tour inside the White House and go up inside the Washington Monument (both tickets hard to get), plus many other things. We walked 6+ miles each day, and we went 8.5 miles the day we toured all of the monuments on the mall. We also got to see the cherry trees just beginning to bloom, which made me so happy. Just flew back from DC on SWA yesterday and got caught up on your review. I thought we’d be stuck at the airport all day yesterday due to the storms at DAL but somehow we made it home on time. Sure hope you get to board soon and that the rest of your journey is uneventful.
