1. My first cruise was on October 6th on the Carnival Magic. Put luggage out the night before disembarkment. Got to pot of Galveston and my suitcase was gone. I did a report with carnival on 10/13/13. I received a call on 10/14/13 from a man in Monterrey, MX saying he took my suitcase by mistake and would send it back to me. He never called back with his number and did not return my luggage. There was no caller ID and I called carnival at least 20 times in the last month. They think they know who has it but the person they believe has it will not answer calls or emails from Carnival.

It has all my souvenirs and nice clothes in it. I just want my things back. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Desperate  here!!

They should reimburse you. Have you talked to somebody higher up? I'm sure you have, but thought I would ask

  2. We are the "younger" crowd. We like the fine dining and all that. We like fixed time dining and the traditional cruise atmosphere. They are not attracting all the younger crowd, just the ones that only want to spend a little to go on a "booze cruise". We want the cruise experience, not a floating hotel with free booze.

  3. Ok, well Hubby and I thought we were going to go on CCL Dream for sure then we found out we are able to get a good deal on the Caribbean Princess which would be about the same in cost as the cruise we were planning on the Dream out of NOLA.

So, now we are torn! We love Carnival, but would also love to sail Princess as well. We are wanting a nice, romantic, and relaxed cruise for our anniversary. Can anyone please tell me what the differences are between the two? Any advice?

    thanks!

No offense to the CCL cheerleaders, but I would pick princess :) Better atmosphere, more relaxing, romantic and a bit calmer than a carnival. Carnival is cheap. Princess is better :)

  4. haha you guessed right. Yes we are LDS.

You totally should. St. Thomas is one of few places that I could visit over and over again and not get sick of it.

HAHAHA LOL. Me and my husband were sitting there and zooming in the photos near the collar area trying to figure it out :D

I put CTR cause I didn't know if you were, so didn't want to offend or anything! Very cool :)

  5. I think this is a very 1950's view point. There are plenty of women who are choosing not to get married or have children. There are also plenty of women in their 20's who will wait until they are older. I don't see how this would be any more difficult for a woman than it is for a man.

It's traditional, but not 1950's. There are still a majority of women that choose to have a family. Thank goodness too, or the human race would cease to exist. And if women stopped raising their children, we would have a lot of problems too!

  6. We are traveling in 11 days on the Freedom. As I was doing online checkin .I discovered my sons passport had expired. Called Carnival and was told that he could use his drivers licence. We are going to Caymans and Jamicia. The Carnival rep did not sound to convincing. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks

You need a birth certificate too (original!) as well as a driver's license. If you are worried or he is worried about if something happens while in port, you could always stay on the ship... If you get left behind or if something bad happened, that would be the only real reason you would need to worry.

  7. Are you off base? I think a little. Even if you thought it was an automatic payment, you got reminders. To me that's a clue to get on the phone and do a follow up inquirey about paying.

Why would you call if you are on auto pay. You would think they are sending reminders that the money is coming out of the auto pay method.

  8. wow, 35 cruises and never been called. I hope ccl's new management improves their marketing department! In my opinion, first get them booked, then try to upsell them to a more expensive cabin. So, by the time of the sailing, only the cheap seats (cabins) are available, and those you can sell to the local getaway cruiser that wouldn't sail unless it was extremely well priced.

As a ccl shareholder, carnival get your marketing people to start thinking profit margins and utilizations.

    agreed!!!

  9. Lol did I say people shouldn't meet? I don't think I did... I'm saying that people shouldn't expect the cruise line to devote a dozen or more essential staff members to such a small group of people why can't you just meet at one of the bars and be happy with that?

Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app

I see your point. I also see the other point too. I think its great that Carnival will oblige small groups like CC and such. It makes people feel special. Everyone wants to feel special and important no matter who you are. These small details and thoughts are what make loyal customers :)

  10.
I did this review for the woman that has inspired me to get up get out and see the WORLD. Since we have been together I have been places I always wanted to go but always found a reason not to. Thanks Bae for inspiring me to do the things in life I always wanted to like getting my degree, standing at ground zero.....eating warm chocolate melting cake!!! I did this review for you and hope you like it. Love You.
This actually made me tear up a bit :o This is the best review that I have ever read, and I have read a lot. My DH and I just sat and read every word together! You had us ROFL. That was fantastic. Your writing style is unique and very entertaining. I think you could have a future in something editorial. HILARIOUS. Thank you for posting something so well written and fun. Usually we just scroll through the pics and read a caption here or there, but we really were laughing so loud... And the kids are asleep, so that takes a lot to make us laugh if it might wake them up!!
On a side note, I read your first post on here, like the first paragraph or two and saw your pic. I asked DH after I read it out loud to him "describe what you think this guy looks like". This was after the part about you talking about trying all the food and stuff. He goes "Well a bigger bald white guy that eats a lot of food." LOLOLOL. I then showed him your pic and he was like "yeah, not what I expected" hehehehe. He eats just as much though and loves food too, so I don't know what he was thinking :)

Now off topic question.... How can guys like you and also my DH eat SOO much fried crap and still look good???? Meanwhile the women are stuck eating fruit so that they can look sexy?????
  11. Weird question but I will ask none the less.

Can I bring a bottle of liquid CoffeeMate creamer? I am not the biggest fan of the coffee on the ships but The pumpkin Spice makes any coffee taste better. I would like to bring a small bottle with me tomorrow. I don't want to waste it tho if they will make me throw it away.

    It is sealed and unopened.

    TIA

Yes :) Just don't try to carry it on a plane. :D

  12. If you raise good kids, they will be good kids on vacation too. My son hung out with a group of 10 kids last July the entire cruise at all times day and night. They never got into any trouble. Just liked hanging out. They still all keep in touch even though they are from all over the US...

Has nothing to do with how "good" your kids are. Even if they are angels, there are still sickos out there.

  13. If I needed to save $9.60 a week for two years to cruise I am sure I would have a better use than vacation. Maybe its just me ;)

And by the way I have been cruising since my 20s and am not old but know how to tip:)

I know how to tip too. That was not in question. I just don't like when people say we are paying their wages. That is not tipping.

  14. ok i'm in favor of tipping on a cruise ship! What i'm not in favor is tipping someone that doesn't do their job!! Went on a back to back took the gratuities off and gave it to the crew that deserved it!!! Head waiter really sucked it up!! Out of the 4 days saw him maybe 20 minutes. And the mdr wasn't busy!! Second part left the gratuities on because everyone did a great job. In fact above and beyond. How can that be?? Same ship same crew different head waiter!! Room stewart was awesome!! Sara was there when you needed her and she always knew we needed something before we did. Oscar all i can say is wow superb in the mdr!!!! Well worth the extra money!!!

Like it or not that's how i handled my gratuities!!!
