  1. subscribing :)

we're sailing on the Pride next month! I checked out the other thread that was mentioned on here but it's 233 pages long (I tried reading thru but it's too much) and starts in 2004 (would things still be up-to-date?).....

I did the same thing. On page 218 there is a compiled list from 2008... But I think that is out of date as well! That's why I wanted to start a thread like this. Any more tips???

  2. I think its time for a thread where everyone shares their favorite secrets aboard the Carnival ships. Personally I would love to know about the Ecstasy or Fantasy class ships!! :) Let me at em!

    1. Carnival Glory: Eat at the fish and chips for lunch on the first day to avoid the crowds and get some delicious fried fish!

    2. Most ships: Enjoy the tea time in the mid afternoon for some piano music, tea and delicious treats.

    3. All Ships: Ask your room steward for extra chocolate :D

  3. I hate to burst your bubble, but I am a nurse and can speak from experience. There is no way you know enough to work on a cruise ship. Any job you get as a graduate nurse with no REAL experience will be a learning curve for you. You certainly didn't learn everything you need in nursing school. You learn the very basics and where and how to get the info you need to practice. Included in the where to get the info is your fellow workers, who will be a valuable asset to you as you start your career. I don't know how many nurses there are on a cruise ship, but I doubt that there are enough to be schooling the inexperienced. My instructors in nursing school referred frequently to the day when we would be done with school and would meet the "REAL WORLD". Give yourself sometime in that world before you try to take on morre than you are qualified for.

    Bubble burster.....

  4. Yeah, I didn't like the envelope setup. Beyond half the dining room mysteriously disappearing at the 7th dinner, I thought giving these guys and girls wads of cash leaves them open to shakedowns from other employees.

Oh I didn't think about that! Shake downs... Food for thought. That probably does happen.
