OP,
Can't figure out why some people are vilifying you for booking early. I would be angry too if two cruises of mine were cancelled.
I hope they compensate you for your continued loyalty. Even though they don't have to. It's just good PR.
Hope it all works out for you.[emoji2]

It depends on the type of accommodation you have. Suites have earlier penalty phases, then standard rooms. 120 days sounds about right.
Also holiday sailings usually have earlier final payments as well.

Your going old school!!!

Asia market not in my future.Good luck NCL.
Aisa is the biggest untapped market. Most lines are deploying ships there.
In fact some new builds are for that specific market.

Fellow brooklynite. Of course it depends on what part?

1) Ziplock bags for phone, CC, cash. Ect... Just in case it gets wet, contents stay dry.
2) copy of Passport or ID, and front & back of two CC. Just in case
3) oh yah, my family, almost forgot them again[emoji12]

Please read the insurance certificate very carefully. Itinerary changes close to the cruise are rare. Must happen outside the penalty phase of the booking. The instance co. Only covers non refundable items. If you are able to cancel without penalty. No claim can be filed.
Most last minute changes would be due to events that the carrier ( nationwide) would exclude. Such as weather, acts of terrorism Ect...
Find the telephone number for nationwide and find out directly from them to be sure.

I believe your thinking of Carnival. They have a seafood shack.

There were 4 new interior pics from the August 4 NCL partners first webinar of 678 ocean place, mondavi wine bar, brew house and the Haven outdoor eating area. I have low res images. I'm waiting for the originals to be emailed so I can post them. Or do you guys just want to see them either way?

Only 10 more days to wait. Until them I'll bite my nails down to the nubs.

That tells us nothing.
Please tell me your kidding!

Disney has been doing fireworks on all of their boats without issue for more than 10 years. If NCL wanted to do this, they could. I just think it is another cost cutting measure.
SO WRONG.
First off, KS wanted the fireworks. To compete with Disney. What you don't know is that KS, and a few other VP's from NCL paid enormous amounts of money to attend the "DISNEY institute" to learn the Disney way of making guests happy. Yes, it exists and many corporations do this.
KS, tried and failed flat out with the fireworks. Guest surveys proved that.
It us a huge expense. And Disney makes all there fireworks at the WDW resort. NCL, outsourced.
I'm glad FDR got rid of them, they sucked that's my personal opinion. And the overwhelming majority think so too.
Disney is unique for three reasons;
1) they have the highest per diem of all mainstream lines
2) you get the world famous Disney service.
3) you get the experience no one else can deliver.
It was not a cut back, it was an elimination of an ill conceived, poorly executed copy of something way out of there expertise.
-
I just don't get how some of you know all this inside info. How could you possibly know FDR is a MUSH at every company he touches.
He happens to have one hell of a resumè. And, just by reading he also is extremely respected in the industry. Please share with us where all the negative info comes from.

What an overwhelming response to my OP. There is no right or wrong responses here. I think you all are passionate about cruising and fell hurt by how the new changes were implemented.
However, one thing I take away from this thread is the reoccurring theme. That is NCL just making changes, and not using the tools available to get the word out to the masses, in a way that was much more professional then how it was handled. And this happens several times in a short period of time.
I for one really feel changes could have waited until the line knew everyone has been notified correctly.
Given the onslaught of small changes, it could be compared to mosquito bites. One or two is itchy, but several makes you uncomfortable.

Halos,
Having two cruises cancelled would piss me off as well. I think despite the situation, your post was extremely diplomatic.
