Someone over at the shipyard goofed up. The article says Getaway on the headline.

The estimated time is 8am in Germany. They are six hours ahead.

    It will be 2am eastern, 1am central, 12am mountain & 11pm pacific.

There will be a link on the MeyerWreft site.

  2. Please read the insurance certificate very carefully. Itinerary changes close to the cruise are rare. Must happen outside the penalty phase of the booking. The instance co. Only covers non refundable items. If you are able to cancel without penalty. No claim can be filed.

Most last minute changes would be due to events that the carrier ( nationwide) would exclude. Such as weather, acts of terrorism Ect...

Find the telephone number for nationwide and find out directly from them to be sure.

  3. Disney has been doing fireworks on all of their boats without issue for more than 10 years. If NCL wanted to do this, they could. I just think it is another cost cutting measure.

    SO WRONG.

First off, KS wanted the fireworks. To compete with Disney. What you don't know is that KS, and a few other VP's from NCL paid enormous amounts of money to attend the "DISNEY institute" to learn the Disney way of making guests happy. Yes, it exists and many corporations do this.

KS, tried and failed flat out with the fireworks. Guest surveys proved that.

It us a huge expense. And Disney makes all there fireworks at the WDW resort. NCL, outsourced.

I'm glad FDR got rid of them, they sucked that's my personal opinion. And the overwhelming majority think so too.

    Disney is unique for three reasons;

    1) they have the highest per diem of all mainstream lines

    2) you get the world famous Disney service.

    3) you get the experience no one else can deliver.

It was not a cut back, it was an elimination of an ill conceived, poorly executed copy of something way out of there expertise.

  4. What an overwhelming response to my OP. There is no right or wrong responses here. I think you all are passionate about cruising and fell hurt by how the new changes were implemented.

However, one thing I take away from this thread is the reoccurring theme. That is NCL just making changes, and not using the tools available to get the word out to the masses, in a way that was much more professional then how it was handled. And this happens several times in a short period of time.

I for one really feel changes could have waited until the line knew everyone has been notified correctly.

Given the onslaught of small changes, it could be compared to mosquito bites. One or two is itchy, but several makes you uncomfortable.
