  1. I would plan on dropping off the car no later than 9:30A on departure day, possibly even 9A.  This is to allow for the wait for the shuttle bus (depending how many people are doing the same thing, you may have to wait for a shuttle).

Then find out where to pick up the shuttle after the cruise.  Easy peasy.

  2. I travel a lot for work and use a CPAP.  Most hotels I stay in (Hilton branded) have outlets on at least one side of the bed, often both.  While I carry a 6' (?) extension cord with my CPAP just in case, I haven't had to use it in years.

Go to a dollar store and get a cheapy extension cord (like this: https://www.dollartree.com/durex-3-outlet-indoor-polarized-extension-cords-6ft/186860?Ntt=extension cord).

    Here's the Lowe's version: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Project-Source-6-ft-16-2-2-Prong-Indoor-SPT-2-Light-Duty-General-Extension-Cord/3129343

Keep in in your CPAP case and if it gets through, great!  If you get called to the naughty room, let them keep it.  Or you can just leave it in the hotel room or trash it before getting on the ship.

I would stay away from 3rd party apps... especially the ones that make you think it's not a 3rd party!  royal-caribbean-international.en is NOT Royal Caribbean, and is definitely not authorized by them.  Royal does not support their mobile app on a tablet, so use the 3rd party fake app at your own risk!

My app on my tablet said it needed updated, wouldn't update so I uninstalled.  Went back to the playstore to find it, and found the app RCI uses for it's employees.  That might be what pp was talking about.

It's ridiculous they don't allow it on tablets.  Tablets are easier to read the compass.  If they want to get rid of paper compass (disagree with, but will accept) and have people go digital, they should have it work on as many devices as possible (maybe something that's 4-5 generations behind not, but something recent, yes).

  4. Thanks @Host Kat

I usually struggle with finding things (free) to do when I'm traveling, so thought this would be something different.  I did look, and the day I arrive for work, only one ship is leaving Galveston (Harmony- which is actually the ship we'll be on in July).

    Still debating.

RCI’s prices are constantly changing. The small delay needed to contact a TA could be enough time for the price to change, like apparently happened in this situation.

um, but that's not what happened in this situation.  It's also possible a TA could tackle a price change quicker than one contacting RCI (by the time you wait on hold).

  6. It's also possible the cabin category is different.

Look at a deck plan and make sure you're comparing apples to apples.  Just because a room sleeps the same number of passengers and has the same view doesn't mean it's the same category.

Less than 72 hours IS last minute - and last minute is what I have been talking about .

And we knew that's what YOU were talking about how?

If you read the OP, "We just booked a cruise with Royal Caribbean today", odds are they're not within the 72 hour window. (Oh, and at the time I write this post, the OP was 17 hours previously).

And considering the OP goes on to say "one name is listed twice, one name is missing", even if they DID book a cruise leaving in less than 72 hours, I would think Royal would be accommodating.

Even airline tickets you can generally change with no issues within the first 24 hours following booking.

  8. July 14.  Getting tired of my questions?  LOL

I've been on ships where they've done the "Family" show in the Royal Theater on the last night, the reason I didn't think this was it is it's still marked as 18+.

Interesting though, I go to the one for Day 6 and the "Reserve" button is grayed out.  I wonder if it is the Family show and they did the title wrong.

  9. Entertainment has opened for our July cruise.

There are two comedy shows listed...

When you click into either of them, the description is the same (Adult Comedy LIVE). The only difference is when you reserve, what days/times are available.

I assume the shows are the same (with some minor exceptions) and they couldn't fit all of the possibilities under a single banner.  Can someone confirm?

Does anyone know the difference other than the significant price difference.

Also, does anyone know how the online, pre-cruise reservation system works for this attraction?  It looks like only 8:00 AM or 7:30 PM are currently available for a cruise that is one year away.  What's going on during the other times?  Is this their way to fill up early/late times first, and add'l times will become available later?  Thanks.

I would assume the "day times" are for the "no charge" use.

Without a starting point for reference, not sure if that's a good thing? If she mailed it in February, not great turn around. If she mailed it 4/1, I'd be super impressed. 😬

Since I'm sure your point is that the Dept of State isn't good at finalizing the status, I agree, but at least my daughters shows "Approved".

Sorry, didn't explain myself well.  The government logged it as "received" on 4/10.  She mailed it 4/6.  This was a renewal/name change (due to marriage), and no expedite.

Where else would you need to see that they are booked if you are seeing them when you go to book dinner, excursions, shows, etc?

If they are showing up when you book something, then you are linked.

With all the issues with Royal IT, I wouldn't be surprised if the system linking reservations for checkins is different than the system for dining.  So I thought I'd ask.

Final result? Might not have needed to expedite, but it provided a peace of mind we wouldn't have had otherwise. New passport is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. Two weeks and one day after dropping it off at the post office. Now she has a new passport AND a fresh BC.

FWIW, DD mailed her passport and was received 4/10.  Still "In Process".  NOT expedited.
