  1. Let your stateroom attendant know you'd like the beds separated. They'll get it taken care of. If you have a post it, you can leave it on your door so they'd see the note if you're not in the room.
  2. If you're a Billy Joel and/or Elton John fan, keep an eye on the compass. The piano player in the Schooner bar does a couple of tribute shows to the two, and does an amazing job!
  3. Regarding the comedy shows, we were on Harmony in July, and heard from another couple and our DD that the comedians weren't very good. We ended up skipping the comedy show in order to watch Columbus in it's entirety (the show we were originally watching had to stop because of a cast member injury).
  4. We sailed from Galveston last month. We never saw the staging areas. We had "Express Boarding" (still don't know how we qualified), found a sign for that, were let into the building right at the bottom of the escalators, went up, did our checks, waited about 15 minutes, then boarding started. We had originally grabbed 11:00a, and that was just a few minutes after check in opened.
  5. Simple, bring a sleeve. They're cheap. If it's tap, use the sleeve. If it's insert, get the hole punched.
  6. No. It's scheduled for after early dining. BUT, I think if you show up about 30-45 minutes after early dining starts, they may start seating you at tables that didn't get filled for early dining.
  7. First. You can write your own form if you disagree with the language in theirs. Second, check with your local library, your employer, or even in your neighborhood. It's very possible to get notary services for free. Third, my guess is the issue is your husband isn't in the same room, and the different last names is triggering the issue. Companies can change policies whenever they want, so what happened in the past doesn't always equal what happens in the future. This seems like a strange hill to die on. Sure, your birth certificates may/should get you on, but why take the chance of even a delay?
  8. As I said somewhere, we ended up using LiveryHouston. They were the cheapest. We had 8 in our party, they picked us up in a Sprinter that seated 14 and had plenty of room for luggage. The van was clean, we had plenty of room, and there were built in USB C ports for charging if you needed it. Our driver was prompt both directions (even early to get us to the cruise). I would definitely use them again.
  9. These were the times for the main theater shows for our Harmony Cruise last month: Sunday - Sat cruise. Grease Day 1 9:30P Day 2 3:30P, 8P Columbus, The Musical Day 5 7p, 9;15P Day 6 3:30P Love and Marriage (also Main Theater) Day 3 9P (I think)
  10. So get your food in the buffet, take it to your table, use wipes on your hand, eat. Or as someone said, use napkins to grab the tongs. Yes, it is the same as elevator buttons, hand rails, door handles, chair arms, etc. You have no idea if the person before you washed their hands or not.
  11. There definitely was in Galveston getting off Harmony.
  12. We were also on Harmony last month, didn't see any sales of them (but wasn't looking), however I did see some people wearing them. So I assume they can be used.
  13. We were on Harmony last month. Shows opened for reservations just under two months out. OP, I'd say any day now.
  14. We also had it where some days showed before the cruise and others didn't show up until we boarded.
  15. Ah, you're probably right. I would think that should work too.
  16. We just got off Harmony and DD and her friend did the tour. She said she enjoyed it, but the tour portion could have been longer.
  17. Except you're NOT required to have an adult in every cabin, provided the cabin with minors only is next to or across the hall the from adult. What possibly changes the math on this one is presumably the cabin with two minors would be minors from two families. It would be interesting to know if you could do three cabins in a row: A: Adult + 1 minor B: 2 minors C; Adult + 1 minor. Or, can cabin B be across the hall from A/C? @tikkas, call your TA or Royal. If Royal tells you "no", I'd call back. If you keep getting the same answer 2-3 times, ok. But why not ask?
  18. Personally, I think a passport is good to have too. But there have LOTS of threads with cruisers all but forcing people to get one. For a small outlay of time and a small (if any) outlay of money, both of which are much larger with a passport, I don't understand the "it's not required, don't bother", which is the same as with a passport or following a dress code.
  19. So, advocating bringing a passport (with a cost of $130), even when not required = "good". Advocating bringing a notarized document (with a cost of $25 or less), even when not required = "bad". Got it! 👍 Oh, wait, a passport is "recommended", as are gratuities and dress codes for dinners. But advocating for THOSE "recommendations" is "bad". 😄
  20. And a recommendation means? Absolutely nothing. They also "recommend" what to wear for dinner. I notice you didn't answer the question.
  21. On the other hand... Those of you saying "it's not needed, don't bother..." What is your normal response when someone says "Should I get a passport for a closed loop cruise or can I use my BC?" If your answer is "Get the passport, you never know", wouldn't the appropriate answer to this question be "Get the notarized document, you never know"?
  22. Whether it's required or not, why NOT have the notarized document from the non-present parent? At MOST it's a $25 charge and MAYBE an hour of time. You can probably find the notary service for free (there was a notary at my former employer and I've used the public library services). If a couple were divorced and a child was traveling with a single parent, wouldn't the letter (or court statement) be good to have? So how does the cruise line know the marriage situation? They don't. The last thing you want is a document issue keeping you from getting on the ship (even if it does nothing more than delay boarding).
  23. I'd be surprised. MCO is ~90 minutes away from Tampa, and Tampa has it's own airport. You're probably better off looking for private company, but it will likely be expensive.
  24. As I said, I wasn't there. But it was a big deal in her mind. I think she was more upset there were other women who WEREN'T asked to cover up. But I don't know what she saw, I just know what she relayed to me.
