  1. Been on many Carnival ships and have yet to find a hair dryer with enough power.....going on Vista in 2 weeks. Anyone know if the newer ships (Breeze was largest Carnival ship we were on) have higher watts?

I have a travel size one but we only travel with carryon and ANY extra space is a plus.

  2. How sad for me [emoji26] my Basil Drop martini will have to wait! I thought for sure since ecstasy got Alchemy that elation would. I love sailing on these smaller ships. Love layout and crowds are manageable.

  3. We went to Sorobon Beach the last time we were in Bonaire and I think we will again in November. We arrived pretty early last time and were not impressed. The beach was VERY dirty and it was pretty desolate. But our taxi driver had left so we sat on 2 chairs and hoped more ppl would show up. And they did....first the workers showed up and started cleaning the moss/seaweed off the beach and then cruise ppl started showing up. The water is very shallow forever. You can walk and walk and walk and it doesn't get very deep. That was kinda cool. The bar opened at like 10:00? and we had drinks and ate lunch and decided this place was pretty cool afterall:D So we are going again knowing that it just takes a couple hours till the bar opens and the beach is cleaned.

The chairs were 5.00 per chair and the people were very nice! Good drinks!

  4. Which is closer from the cruise port....Baby Beach or Arashi Beach? Due to the Hurricane we are now going to Southern Carib. in November and will be in Aruba 8-11. Have been to Eagle Beach several times and ready to try a new place (not Palm Beach, too crowded).

I hate sitting on a bus or taxi for more than 30 minutes so hoping one of these is close enough?

  5. (which we won't do again because I figured out we spent 200.00 more as a couple then if we would have paid as we went. And trust me, we drank ALOT).

first of all when someone says"trust me", I can think of one, it's usually not true. I guess A LOT is less than 6 drinks a day which is break even with Cheers, especially in the Alchemy Bar where drinks are usually $10 and up.

If you can drink 6 martini's from Alchemy every day I applaud you! I have never been on a ship where Alchemy is open before 4:00 and 2 of those martini's and I'm good!;p

  6. I can't wait till the Vista November 4th itinerary is out. I'm kinda thinking it's going to be the same as this one which I'm ok with. Except, I like to book excursions well ahead of time.

Have San Juan and St Kitts excursions booked thru Island Marketing for November 4th cruise but doesn't look like that's happening.

  7. This was not even something I thought to do until it came up on a thread. So....last cruise we tested it out......we had Cheers (which we won't do again because I figured out we spent 200.00 more as a couple then if we would have paid as we went. And trust me, we drank ALOT)....anyway, I tipped the Alchemy (our go to bar) bartenders 2.00 cash each time my husband and I ordered a drink.

Alchemy has become VERY popular and some evenings we could not get a stool and had to stand at the end of the bar. As soon as we walked up one of the bartenders noticed us, knew our drink order, and would just nod at us...meaning he will make them next. Was the service 10x's better than no tipping...no. But, I think it did help and I will continue this. The Alchemy bartenders make amazing, sometime complex drinks and they deserve it.

  8. I know right!!!! I'll give up balconies for an Alchemy bar!!!! We sail Oct 2 will definitely keep you posted!

:p I think I would give up balconies for Alchemy too.

I am so dying for a Basil Drop and Cucumber Sunrise this November on Vista. We go on Elation next April and my girlfriends are going to LOVE Alchemy!

  9. Please, please get Alchemy!! I can't believe Elation would go through a month long dry dock and not get Alchemy!

Me and my GF's are going on a 5 day in April 2018 which we already started booking and then I realized Elation may not have Alchemy:eek: According to this thread I think I have a 50/50 chance....some say yes and some say no!!

  10. Following.......We were on Pride about 2 yrs ago and LOVED the ease of driving to Baltimore. It was the first ship we were on that had Alchemy. OMG! We loved it. Pride is a great class ship...we sailed her sister Miracle 3 x's and now that she is coming back to NYC sailing again Spring 2018. Next up is Vista this fall and I'm looking forward to it. We will def go back on Pride though.

  11. This is a great Vista review. We are on November 4th...almost under 100 days, but who's counting:) Wondered if you know who the Alchemy bartenders were. It's always our favorite watering hole and we have had some fun times with the alchemists! Best martini's ever! I have learned how to make the Basil Drop every bit as good as them but I can't get the Cucumber Sunrise! That one is soooo good!

  12. I would like the answer to this also? I can not find any flights that fly into Miami that aren't super expensive so we are flying into Ft. Laud. I know the drive is about 45 minutes on a Sunday morning but I would love to book a 11:15 flight home. We are also platinum and are doing self assist. I'm pretty sure it will not be an issue.
