  1. not worth it, imo for the fantasy. No tenders, smaller ship means less people, they have staggered check in times, guest service lines are not very long in my experience with the new apps and things available to download.

  2. So i was wondering about this now that Carnival has the free room service cut off time. Are people rushing to order before the free cut off time slowing down deliveries?

Also... whats the cut off. Say you order 5 min before cut off time but it gets delivered after cut off time, do you have to pay for that?

Im just curious because this is one service we actually do use many nights. My two over 6 ft tall football/basketball hooping boys are ALWAYS STARVING. And never gain a pound i might add.

    lol.

  3. i fired one! he booked 2 cruises for me and was great but after that became super passive aggressive about booking the next one.

Finally i said to him..." dont you think if i had time off and money i would go ahead and book. Dont call me again." He was stalking the **** out of me.

I then called and got a different pvp when i WAS READY to book. His name was Matt. VERY professional, never had a single problem at all. And really enjoyed him. He does not work there anymore so this time i just called carnival and booked with a booking person, not a pvp. No issues.

  4. i can see the advantage more so if you are going on one of the larger ships, or ports with tenders tbh. I also can imagine that the lines at guest services are a lot longer on those too. So, Hey Carnival, how about you lower the price on the non tender, 5 day cruises of smaller ships... like the one im going on in oct. and keep it raised for the larger ship 7 day cruises with tender ports???? :D

  5. the last cruise we went on i asked for cleaning only in the evening because my teenage son, who has major insomnia, for some reason sleeps really well on ships.

I love when he goes to the cabin after brunch for a morning nap, or sleeps through breakfast. This is because i always worry about his sleep. Anyway, it was better for us to only have room cleaned once per day. But i did not tip any less than i always do when i prepay. I did not give extra that cruise though because a couple of nights the kids were gathered in the bunks watching TV and i just stepped outside and asked for clean towels and told them no service was necessary that evening.

That being said.... im a clean freak and my kids know whats expected as far as keeping the cabin organized and being thoughtful of others.

So ... no problems for us.

  6. So what we decided to do is this:

Im not spending that much this time around on FTTF because:

    1. Since we have a scheduled check in timeof 11:30 im not too worried about the lines because they do have the staggered times now.

    2. We usually drop off our luggage straight away in the room with FTTF, but we decided we will just check our bags. We always go to the lido for lunch and all anyway and usually stay around for the sail away party. So im guessing it will be about time for room to be available by that time anyway.

We will just wear swimsuites with sundress coverups and 'bam' you got your dry clothes after taking off wet suite. We will carry a close to empty back pack with a trash bag to transport our wet suites back to room in... or just dry out on deck.

    3. Our luggage the last 2 times WITH FTTF did not arrive until way after the time we expected; so i dont think we will be missing anything there.

    4. Theres no tenders this cruise.

    5. Never had problem with huge lines at guest services

    6. Dont need to debark earliest anyway because the kiddos will want breakfast before you debark anywho.

So...yea.... im okay with keeping my 160.00 for two rooms in my pocket. :-)

  7. I decided not to book FTTF but i used to every single cruise. The price increase was the deciding factor. It seems that on my particular cruise im not the only one. I booked this cruise in December to sail in October. Im 90 days out now and its still available.

And it hasnt ever sold out.

Thats not been my experience in the past so just wondering if anyone else has noticed this?

  8. We had purchased the FTTF the last 4 cruises, but the last cruise we had already pretty much decided it wasnt worth it anymore and that was at the cheaper price, lol.

    1. The last 2 cruises we went on our luggage was NOT in the room any earlier than our friends who did not do FFTF. And it was showing up like a bag or 2 at a time. This was at the port of Baltimore, and also the port in New Orleans. Strange.

    2. I did not find the guest service line to be long enough to really make it worth the extra money.

    3. One of the cruises, our room was clearly not ready. We didnt have our waters waiting. (No big deal, but usually they are), we did not have beach towels, and we didnt have the luggage pads on the beds. It was clean, of course, but obviously was rushed through, im assuming because we had fttf and they needed to get the room ready first. Not a big deal, but again, not worth it to me.

    4. The tendering was better with FTTF, but its not an instant thing. You might go to the front of the line but your still waiting on the tender to come get you and then you and ALL those people behind you just get on the same tender. LOL>

    But.....

I have enjoyed it other times. I think it depends. If you have to purchase for 1 room its different, imo than if you must purchase for 2 or 3 rooms.

    Enjoy your cruise!

  9. Def. Not worth it to me anymore because with the new staggered check in at port it seems pointless to me at the price they are pushing for these days.

I travel usually with enough people to have 5 rooms and we each have purchased for each room every other cruise, but this time none of us are buying it.

However im sure some people will and thats fine for them.

But i feel like ill be getting on the ship right after them and with no tender ports on this cruise 79.00 for a 5 day is just silly for me.

So far FTTF has not sold out yet for our cruise in Oct. this year.

  10. YES! Had this problem on Carnival Dream. 7 day cruise, had multiple problems. My kids usually get room service every night because they are big athletic boys and after dinner they are starved around 1 am.

3 times never got through AT ALL.

1 time ordered the morning breakfast on a port day it never came. Ever. and the door hanger was filled out, hung, and taken.

1 time i did get through, ordered 2 sandwiches and never saw them.

This was 2 years ago though.

IDK what was going on that cruise.

I did not complain, just compensated by going upstairs. Was disappointed with this. Probably should have complained tbh.

  11. So....

theres no way in heck im paying $79.00 for FTTF. And i bought it every cruise i have gone on since its been a thing.

    My question is this:

Since they are doing the check in times at the port is it even really worth it anymore?

  12. i agree with you! this is ridiculous!

Carnival needs to plan a little more for the crowd that they are well aware is going to be boarding. Yes, i can zig when people zag, but i do have lunch onboard on embarkation day, and should be able to do so as i have paid for this meal already. I love Carnival, but this is the problem: There are some of you who will take up for anything and everything that Carnival does. Ridiculous. I value my time and my money more than that. No, im not entitled, but i do expect that you can have a little better service than this. Just WOW.

  13. I may or may not be taking an extra kiddo with me this year.

Have any of you ever put a deposit down on a room with no name on it? just in case?

I will have 2 other deposits on same room with names on it, just not sure about the 3rd...

Also... if i do not end up taking the 3rd person, would they let me transfer the deposit to the unpaid balance of a named person???
