If your Mom offered, take her up on it. When will you be in Belize again? We are doing the Lamanai ruins trip in February which includes both bus and boat transportation so is farther than Altun Ha. Yes it will be a long day but if it’s anything like Zunantunich that we went to a few years ago, well worth it. I wouldn’t just stay on the ship at this port. Cavetubing is another popular activity in Belize that I’ve done. We went with BZ And had a great time, much more fun than I was expecting. But if you’ve dreamt of seeing ruins, I say see the ruins while you have the chance.

Thanks for your review and taking the time to do it. I sail with a friend on this ship in Nov 2019 once it moves to New Orleans. It’s a long way off but looking forward to it.

Now that was an informed response!

Next one is 295.
One after that is 560

I’m sure glad I booked my next two sailings with the port taxes and fees paid before it ended.

Thanks for a wonderful trip report.

We enjoyed it a lot. Lots of fun, food and margaritas! Don’t get suckered into buying the RomPope there though (Mexican liquer) It’s yummy but they sell the little bottles like 4 for $25. Great if you want for gifts but if you want for yourself, you can get a full size bottle at the mall area going back to the ship for $9. At least a year and a half ago that was the price. Anyway, the excursion was fun and different if you’re not into snorkeling or the beach.

Thanks for the review. It sounds wonderful.

Rafting through Eagle Sanctuary in Haines (did this while ship visited Skagway). Totally awesome. Eagles everywhere, checking us out.
:D So glad to see this!! We have this booked for our trip in May! Woo

We flew with Michelle a few years ago. Must've been the 2 hr tour as we landed -somewhere- and were able to get out and walk around a bit. It was an amazing trip. Randy wasn't an option when we went and one thing I really liked was that she made a point on her web site (or reviewers did) that she didn't hire summer "help". It was her own plane, etc etc. But I'm sure she wouldn't hire someone she didn't trust and have every confidence in. You'll have a great trip no matter which you choose.

I can also highly recommend Island Wings with Michelle. We did the Misty Fiords tour. It was AMAZING. if you can afford it, don't hesitate. She owns and flies her own plane and although a bit scary (to me) as it was a small plane, we had nothing but complete confidence in her ability. Don't miss. We also toured with Harv and Marv in Juneau. It was a great time as well. As someone else mentioned, they took us back to Mandenhall Glacier on the return then picked us back up in about 1/2 hour. But perhaps they don't do that anymore. A quick email to them should let you know if that's an option. Enjoy!!!!

You ahould get info from Princess directing you to pack a "meet me on the ship" bag. You're exactly right. You won't need your dinner clothes and shoes for the cruise while on the land trip. They will take it from you upon first check in wherever your land trip starts and will be in your cabin once you board.
Also, while on the land tour, on the days you will be moving from one lodge to another, you will be required to have your main suitcase(s) outside your door -say by 9 or 10pm - for transport to the next lodge. The luggage travels separately. So make sure you also bring a smaller bag that you'll keep with you for your toiletries, medicine, etc.

Thanks for the review(s). Myself and 3 friends will also be on the 3 March sailing with the same itinerary. We got mid-ship mini's on the Caribe deck. I guess we'll have to make do with small balconies since ours aren't the extended ones, as they were already sold out. I'm sure we'll have a great trip, nonetheless! Can't wait.

Great info. Wow. I hope I never have to go thru something like that. Hope everyone came thru with no injuries. Glad you're ok. I concur with others, so glad you posted.

Nice!!!! Maybe someday that'll happen to us.

We did Cave Tubing with cabetubing.bz in Belize and LOVED it. $35 pp, including lunch and good equipment. Tubes were carried almost all the way to entry point, too. Well worth it.

Haha. I know this was a Carnival thread about their Magic and that's who I'll be on in Nov. can't wait.

We sailed out of Port Canaveral last year on the Disney Magic. Flew into ORL and took Cocoa Beach Shuttle to the hotel. I had pre-reserved it ($32) and it was easy peasy. We stayed at Country Inn and Suites and they provided a free shuttle to the ship the next morning, as well as parking for duration of cruise. (My son and his family drove.). They had a really nice pool and decent free breakfast. It was a bit dated (and wasn't spotless, but wouldn't consider it not clean either). but for one night it worked well for us. I took the Disney transportation back to the airport after disembarking. Disney transportation amazing of course and was $35 I think. Loved Port Canaveral and excited to be sailing from there again in November. So easy. Really. Don't hesitate.

I see the screen shot. Amazing!! Woohoo. Will be my first time on Magic (next Nov) but have sailed Dream twice which has no Guys! Looking even more forward to the cruise now.
-
Magic is getting Guys and Blue Iguana Cantina. You can ask for GF buns at Guys. At the cantina they do not have GF wraps but you can ask for all the fillings, rice, beans etc to just be put on a plate.
My daughter requires GF and she is always able to have plenty of options. Carnival works well with her; it's one of reasons we cruise.
Where did you hear they were getting Guys and Blue Iguana? I've been following JH's blog and last I saw nothing was confirmed about dry dock. What did I miss?

No vendors there.

I guess not returning to LFK is exactly the intent the seizure/raid of the animals were hoping for, to put them out of business. I guess I'll just see what happens in the upcoming weeks
-
Well I've been to LFK and was looking forward to going back on upcoming cruise but now have concerns about going again and on a non ship sponsored excursion. Any suggestions? Was thinking about the Tabyana Beach and Gunbalimba tour offered thru Carnival. I realize we'll pay more than doing it on our own but in this case, I think we'll feel better. Also considering the catamaran sail and snorkel but not sure my friend will want to snorkel. Any suggestions from anyone? I've been there once and have only been to LFK.

Scheduled to visit on the Dream first week of November. Was so looking forward to going back to LFK. Beautiful place even without the animals but now I'm concerned and unsure of what we'll do for the day. With only 3 ports in a weeklong cruise, hate to not do something that day.

I thoroughly enjoyed your review and read it all in one afternoon. We were in Alaska last year for our second Princess cruisetour, (different itineraries) but next time will be DIY for the land part.
Thanks for sharing!
