  1. Feb 3 2025. The price is different today. Now it is $2550 for AI. $81 PP PD, which makes sense.
  2. I know we were dissatisfied to the point that I really am not looking to book especially with the current prices. If I am going to get Carnival Food, I expect to pay Carnival prices. Beyond that, how will we know if and when they fix it? I have no desire to constantly check the Celebrity Boards to see what people are saying. From their website " Where the culinary experience is influenced by global cuisines and designed by our Michelin-starred chef." I didn't know chefs got stars for pot pie, tough steak, 3 small shrimp in a shrimp cocktail or really bad gnocchi. Also from the website "Relaxed Luxurysm" What is the meaning of luxury food? It is proposed that luxury foods are those foods that offer a refinement in texture, taste, fat content or other quality (such as stimulant or inebriant) and offer distinction, because of either their quantity or quality. Heck, they didn't even have mushrooms or cheese quesadillas! So how do you think they will let us know when they have fixed the problem? I can't see them being voted number 1 on anything with the current level of food and service, so we can't count on that. Your thoughts?
  3. I am trying not to lose faith, but I just looked at a Panama Canal on Beyond in a Veranda. Nothing included is $1650., AI is $4049. an add-on of $218. PP Per night! Basically twice the fair. They send me an advertisement for AI, but that is not where they send me price-wise. Do you think there is a chance of a snowball in Florida that they will tell us if they fix the problems? I really don't want to book, even with my FR, if it is not going to be better. I am sad. I really would like to sail again, but DH was so unhappy with the Millie Feb 3-11 that I don't know if I can get him to agree after the last experience.
  4. Was that a 2022 sailing or 2023? It seems the biggest changes started in 2023.
  5. We loved Apex last year! Eden was our favorite, favorite bar, cafe, and specialty restaurant. If I understand correctly, the Edge ships have not been hit as hard as the others with the cutbacks. I am sure Captain Kate would not appreciate things changing so much that instead of hearing positive comments, she would be hearing complaints about the food. She is so readily available, people would feel compelled to tell her.
  6. I guess next it will be 45 days. Then 0 days and they can do away with the onboard booking staff and save that $$$. They can turn the Future Cruise Sales area into a World Bar where none of the drinks are covered by any drink package OR a pay-as-you-go deli with good sandwiches for $12. each. Kinda like Sushi on 5 or the Bistro on the Edge class.
  7. They must be using the old form until they run out. Here is mine.
  8. Gosh, I thought it was just me. We were on the Apex transatlantic last April 30th. No problems then, but 2023 cruises are a problem. Jan 3rd, we couldn't get into select for over an hour and a half so we ate in OV, pathetic! We got off the Millie on Feb 11, 2023. We have an FR, but Hubby was NOT happy. Oceania? MSC Yacht Club? X had nothing stimulating for the mind. There used to be speakers, crafts, towel folding, and food demos. NOTHING for the mind except trivia in the Sky Lounge.
  9. In December, you had 12 months to choose your cruise, starting in Jan 2023 you have 6 months. You don't have the opportunity to review the new sailings that will be announced at the end of the year. They only care about booking the current offerings.
  10. The issue is not suites vs non-suites. It is 2022 experience vs 2023 experience. If you haven't been on X since the beginning of this year, you can't understand the severe changes that have been made. No ice buckets, no q-tips, having to ask for a bar of soap, watered-down shampoo and conditioner, severe cut-backs in the OV at dinner, and drastic changes in the MDR menu and quality. We had great experiences including Dec 17, 2022, not so in 2023.
  11. LOL! We had spam mac & cheese for dinner tonight with a nice green salad! Of course it was 25% less sodium.
  12. Nice to know I am not loosing my mind. We ended up dining in OV 3 times, twice because we couldn't get seated with Select in under an hour and a half. I was depressed after purchasing a FC. The only hope there is that they will change things before my "6 months" is up, but I am not counting on it, nor are the friends we traveled with. We are looking at Yacht Club on MSC. I would rather be in their interior cabin in Yacht Club than a veranda on X. I have to say, the MSC shows are amazing and they treat you like Royalty, not a celebrity, in Yacht Club. I have to erase that before everyone goes there. 🙂 Drop off your bags at a special place, they take you right to the lounge, your luggage is in your room NOW, they give you anything you want. They will GET HOT FRESH PIZZA for you. Please disregard this before THEIR prices to up because of my big mouth!
  13. Here we have Key West Pinks. We buy 16-21's for about $19. a lb. I have to say how surprised I am when people order the shrimp cocktail. That is tiny farmed shrimp that has probably been eating chicken poop from above their pen. We don't buy farm raised seafood. Yuck. But I guess it is exotica to some.
  14. Guga is DH's hero! He is where I go to figure out what to get Hubby for Christmas. FYI, I am a stockhold, so in a way she answers to me too.
  15. Yeah, and that is Lisa Lutoff-Perlo. I may have to get one of those $1. steaks and see what we can do with it.
  16. The Chef is responsible for the food. The buck stops there! If they don't like what there are given to cook, they should choose a better way to cook the food, such as sous vide to tenderize meat or slow cooking. We all have used different cooking methods to make less expensive cuts moist and tasty.
  17. I would complete the survey without using the waiters name, although you could put him under someone who gave you outstanding service. They have no idea when he served you, it could have been breakfast, lunch or dinner! You can't shoot the waiter when all he did was serve you. If people don't say anything, nothing will get done.
  18. The one I purchased on our Dec 17, 2022 gave us 12 months. This just started a couple of weeks ago. Yet another bad idea shoreside.
  19. I have emailed Lisa and staff did call me back with they "are monitoring and paying attention to comments and emails." The problem is, by the time they fix this, many of us will have moved on and many others will have read these boards and shied away from booking. I am also looking at Oceania out of Miami. They have the kind of speakers and other onboard experiences we used to get from X. Sure, they are a bit higher, but I would rather take one trip that I really enjoy than two that are just so-so. DH was not happy on the Millie last week. Happy husband, happy wife!
  20. We were also on the Millie. Everyone has talked about the food, one lunch was Chicken Pot Pie, Beef pot pie, and seafood (canned mussel) pot pie. The next night at dinner, they had the same pot pies and added Sheppards pie to the list. There was so much turkey and chicken I was starting to grow feathers just walking by them. The best thing at dinner was the stir fry and pasta stations. I felt bad for those who got on the ship late in St Thomas and missed their MDR meal. Upstairs was laughable, but when you have waited for a table for an hour and a half, you tend to get hungry and go upstairs. I don't know if it was just us, but we had to ask for a bar of soap, we never had qtips or cotton balls and there wasn't an ice bucket in sight. We had two towels, period. No extra towel for my hair. I bought a future cruise, but I am expecting it will not be used. I did it just in case they fix this mess. BTW, instead of having 12 months to pick out your next cruise, you now have 6 months. There were not any speakers or any other educational activities, heck, I would have gone to towel folding! Not the X we have sailed with 60 times.
  21. Remember the days when you could book a future cruise with your $200 and change it up to 3 times without penalties? In Dec we purchased a FC and we had 12 months to decide what cruise we would like to book BUT if you change it, NOW you pay $200. NOW, you have 6 months to decide and if you do not book, you get your $200 refunded. After a sub standard cruise, unless my friends and I can find something interesting I am expecting the $200. back and I will be happy about it. It was the first time I went for a future cruise and didn't feel good about it. With the X Suite prices, we are really leaning to MSC Yacht Club.
  22. How could they misspell it when they would never serve it? Not even in Tuscan Grill for extra $$$. I would pay extra for that vs the "aged" steaks.
  23. Make that Wagyu! Don't ask me "Y" I left it out!
  24. Hi! Thanks for pointing out the misspelling. It should be wagyu!
  25. Perhaps someone in management finally looked up the word "Luxury", after all, they are calling themselves a Luxury line. I am not sure that "Homesytle Porkchop" or "Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli" are considered "Luxury" food. Nor is "Roasted Trout" "Lemon Pepper Chicken" (I picked up on of those at Walmart the other day). "Turkey Parm" Rather than luxury, it is like eating over someone else's house. Whatever happened to the JVS meatballs? Garlic Fried Rice? We are entertaining guests on Tuesday night. They will be on the Feb 3 Millie cruise with us. Here is Tuesdays menu: Cocktails = Dark and Stormy, Tito's Vodka with soda and cranberry juice Appetizer= Key West Pinks Shrimp Cocktail Main Course= Wagu Picannah, grilled red peppers, roasted green beans, baby potatoes with garlic and parsley Dessert= Grilled Pineapple with Vanilla Ice Cream Let X serve something like this, less the wagu of course.
