  1. I bring my Brita water bottle with the filter. I pour it into that and it helps the taste. The now have bottle refill station around too.
  2. Are you removing the n?
  3. Don't you worry about it! It makes it much easier to find your cabin. When we have been just off the elevators, people commented how they knew they were going to the proper side by seeing the decorations. We always put up a Conch Republic Flag. (The flag of the Keys). Since one took a walk about 7 years ago, I have added a sign that says "If you take this flag, you will have bad luck forever". It hasn't gone missing since. One day we heard some children outside that door. The little girl slowly read it and when she finish "bad luck forever" she told her brother, Tommy, don't touch it! We also have magnets that let the Cabin Steward know if we are in or out. At Christmas, we have lights. We heavily decorated for our Mardi Gras cruise as did many other people. If it is any kind of Holiday, we decorate for it. I guess we are the "tacky" people. I would rather be tacky than try to get into the wrong cabin.
  4. We gave this to some friends we sailed with.
  5. Great! We called over the Chef and put ourselves in his hands. He coordinated with the Sommelier and we had a fabulous dinner. The Aztec dessert was the best I ever had. Oh, and the short rib was amazing.
  6. Looking at the current menu, it is so different that we had on our Transatlantic, no lobster dish, although they still have the Aztec Dessert, which was on of the best I have ever had. Depending on what they are charging now, I don't know if I would spend the money. Hopefully others that have been more recently will chime in.
  7. If X uses them as a selling tool, shouldn't we follow them? If they win, they toute it. I have to believe the Forbes stars will never happen again, but they will use it for years as a marketing ploy.
  8. There is nothing on X to crow about, not even the Chef's Table. I may have to try Carnival again!
  9. https://www.travelweekly.com/Readers-Choice/2021/The-list-of-winners-of-the-2021-Readers-Choice-Awards You can also look on the X website. If you look at 2021 vs 2022 there is a big difference.
  10. Did anyone else notice how few awards X received for 2022? And that was BEFORE all the 2023 shenanigans. I wonder what kind of reviews they are going to get for this year. It seems most of the awards in 2022 were for design. I didn't see Best Premium Cruiseline, which they were for many years in a row at one point. I think that was pre LP. There certainly weren't any for food!
  11. Go for the SV!!!! Hands down! You actually have a balcony.
  12. You have to take a shuttle from the parking garage to the ship. The bus stop is in front of the parking garage with a smallish sign. The shuttle will take your luggage, but it is a bit easier to drop it off. Know it can be a bit confusing over there because they drop the luggage away from where you go into the terminal. 29 is not as convenient as the other terminals.
  13. With your outlook (and look out for) money, here is one you will love. We recently received a $10K invoice from a club we belong to so they can build a new building. Simply put, we are expected to make a $10K donation with no ROI. They promise to keep our dues the same for TWO WHOLE years if we pay the entire amount by July 1st. We resigned.
  14. I think the cheeseburger should be one of the every night offerings. Sometimes you want a little taste of home. Yes, 40 years ago we ate at the awful "American" restaurant in Germany that served burgers and fries. We had just wanted a taste of home. Back then there weren't any American fast food restaurants that you could go to. It was our only option. It was BAD! BUT I wouldn't mind a GOOD burger on the dinner menu, just in case everything else sucks! (Which seems to be happening a lot!)
  15. I started taking photos of name tags so I could remember who to mention and spell it correctly. OOPPSS, I use my phone for that.
  16. I told DH I want to go on a cruise, he said Carnaval? I said no, he said Norwegian. I said beggars can't be choosers. I would prefer to be on Celebrity, but if the food is that bad, why be there at their prices? We did the Miami to San Juan on the Millie, and several times ate at the buffet. At least the stir fry and pasta were fresh. The dining room was pathetic to the point I sent my entree back and order more soup. At this point, since the food is soooo bad, I would go on Norwegian just to get away.
  17. Yes, I know. I think we are both letting people know they will respond to special requests.
  18. I've gotten the French Onion soup with NO bread on it. I think they put a piece of fried cheese on top and put the gruyere on top of that. That way it is Keto.
  19. Be careful when booking the Future Cruise if you use the Sail Later option. It used to be they gave you a year to book. When we last sailed, it was down to 6 months. If you didn’t book in the six months, they return your deposit and you lose the extra OBC. Someone posted a couple of weeks after that that they had changed it to 90 days. I am not sure why they would do that. They have had my deposits for 18 months, just earning interest on it until I found a trip I wanted to take. I had the security of knowing I would get the OBC. Can someone ‘spain it to me?
