  1. The tv programming leaves much to be desired on board ,i do not know if a player can be plugged in but i have never see anything other than a tv function . Theater movies are pot luck ,check your daily programmer [delivered to the room the night before] there are many things to do rain or shine .

  2. About 14 cruises with cunard on all their ships ,i really had to think hard about cabin noise etc .....one had vibration from a diesel ,one had noise from some type of machine, one was close to crew stairway and one was too near the child day care drop off in the morning . I noticed it but none disturbed our sleep .I would only advise to avoid deck 6 port/aft qm2 so you do not get run over in the morning by a lil ninja lol.

Are you sure you would get the top off booze past the security? Although security on these ships is a joke.

depends ....if its top off booze or if its the top is off booze lol.......and nothing says cunard like looking at 2 cases of coke on a hand cart at check in lol

I've never travelled on QM2 before and don't actually know for sure that I'm not "dining there". Going by the floor plans and the many photos that are posted online it looks as if the 2 sections of Britannia are separated by a thin partition wall with a completely open double doorway. We could be making our way to a table in one of the aft corners of the MD or through that opening to a table 2 or 3 metres farther away. From what I've read, at one time both sections were the same restaurant. The menus seem to be the same other than the extra A La Carte section and come from the same kitchen.

I think I would actually feel less comfortable about walking along corridors outside other folks cabins on decks I wasn't a resident of than walking through the restaurant.

You and many others have had the experience of sailing on QM2, which is why I asked the question. Of course you are more than entitled to your opinion and I'm happy that you expressed it. But it does seem that you are in the minority. Thank you anyway.

Windsurfboy has traveled with cunard ,his advice is well respected here .I have a dozen cruises with cunard........if you are under-dressed go around an active MDR

Well, for people who don't wear masks when not required, it's definitely a big one.

I agree ,the only place i wear my mask is any health service building ....there are a few restaurants that require masks in our area ......we skip them . Now if the virus explodes again we will wear them but cruising is off again for another year .

Absolutely - but they should update their policy if and when it changes, and then everyone knows what to expect. If someone books a cruise based on their policy on THEIR website that says masks only in certain places, and then comes to a cruise and finds out that masks required almost everywhere, don't you find it deceptive?

imho i do not find it deceptive at all, they have to make decisions in real time due to a fast spreading illness . Due to the uncertainty from the virus we have opted to cancel yet a 3rd x mass cruise ,we don't think a restricted ship/port/excursion is a vacation .

Here is my take on this issue at this point. Pick any ten contagious diseases and test for them every day in mass quantities and then look at the results. You will never leave your home again. The world is a walking disease and one must factor in the risk Vs. rewards to life. Many will never be comfortable living any more after this flare up. Others will . The US has lifted its mask mandate and there are no places where testing is required, so yes we have placed this virus in the closet along with the flu, Herpes, jaundice, aides, and hundreds of other diseases that are contagious.

We have kinda placed the bug on the shelf too ,we still wear a mask IF we have to go to a particular place [professional building] but any store/restaurant etc that has a sign on the door for masks we u turn. I came back to the forum to see wazz up on the boats and quickly called cunard and cancelled for the 3rd time our x mass carib cruise ,we have done the cruise there 10 or more times on the QM2 .  We are not at all afraid of the virus just too concerned over the restrictions [ports ,excursions ,ship areas etc] that would spoil the cruise that we are accustom to . 21 cruise days until diamond status ......if i live that long lol....oh well next year
