  1. Welcome to Cruise Critic

Best advice I could possibly give you---take everything with a grain of salt.

Seriously, find the middle ground in reviews and you will probably be pretty close to the reality.

For me, Royal Carib ships if you are going with a child.

Lots of great things for her today. Still believe they are a great value for your money.

Good Luck, and please keep us posted on your final decision.

  2. For us, cruising is a time to get away, decompress and spend time with each other. I see several hundred people every week, DH and I are often apart for weeks on end due to our careers. Cruising is a way for us to reconnect, no phones, tablets, laptops. Shoot, we have even done a cruise where we both were so fried we barely left our stateroom. an occasional time in the pool, several needed hours in the spa and dinner on our balcony. Never left the ship and may be the best cruise ever:)

We have also met some terrific people over the years. Tablemates, waiting in line, caught in an elevator together. It all is so varied. For us, just keep it simple.

  3. Lulu, do you reserve parking st cruise port or first come first serve? Approximate cost please? First time we've ever driven to a port but have daughter in Jacksonville si we will stay with her before then drive back to SC after cruise.

  4. Hi Everyone and a happy Wednesday.

Booked our first cruise in years direct with Celebrity. Fair price for A1 on hump, got the classic drink package. Hearing all sorts of stories about transferring to a TA or on-line for extra perks? Haven't used a brick and mortar TA since we moved 5 years ago. Have only used an on-line once for a trip to Europe. Looking at the Big Box Store Travel agency. Price is within $10, same classic drink package but $175 OBC. Any experience with them or someone better, my oh so wise friends?
