They are the same size & layout... Just the few extra perks!

To be honest I don't think the extra cost is worth the few perks you get as the cabins are exactly the same with the exception of the shower head... It's a little nicer in a c/c cabin! From memory anyway!!

Investigated FairFx and seemed a no brainer to me. Rate is very good and no cost to set up as used a Quidco link. I was going to use a Clarity card when the final payment was due but this way I can build up the funds at rates I like. Thanks again.

Glad to have helped! As I said Iv never had a problem and its so quick and easy to use.. Also if you have a iPhone there is an app for it and it updates your funds instantly... Well that might depend on the bank you use but it is a great service!

Buy Dollars from FairFX at today's rate at that's what you get on your card you then pay for cruise with card.

That's exactly what I do, I have had the fairFx card for around 4-5 years now and never had a problem using it all over the states and with celebrity US...

we top up the card every month or when the rate is good as that way you spread the chance of the rate dropping really low... There's always the chance it could go up but at least you can top up when you want... I have always found the highs & lows cancel each other out over the year!

We use it to pay for our cruise via our travel agent and also use it to pay for Onboard spend!

I thought I was being obvious using the word SILHOUETTE.

When looking on the iPhone/iPad app it only shows the message not the title... So not obvious at all!!!

The new season cruises come out over a few weeks starting towards mid to the end of march normally... And the transatlantic cruises are normally some of the lasts ones to be released!

Well the word is out and it's on the website.... The Uk has the 123Go promotion with the same offer as our American friends!

I guess they got fed up with all the moaning from this side of the pond! :D

Just need to decide on the next venture to make the most of it! :rolleyes:

The entertainers rotated through different areas/lounges unless I specified a specific area. I can provide most theater entertainers and shows too if desired although I forgot to record on my iPad a couple nights.

My credit card was charged an extra $22 after my recent Solstice cruise. I called to ask why and was told it was an "amenity" charge and she'd have to contact someone to find out what it was specifically. She called me back a couple of days later and said 2 pairs of binoculars were missing from the room. Funny, never saw any binoculars, never even knew we were supposed to have binoculars in a balcony cabin. The charge was reversed on my next credit card statement.

 

Not the end of the world, but I've read a few threads on CC about this type of thing so it does seem pretty common. Given I didn't find my cabin attendant very good to begin with and didn't leave any extra tip, it makes me wonder if it was intentional on her part.

(As an aside, she also refused to empty my mini bar.)

As the eclipse has now arrived in Florida for the Caribbean season I was just wondering if anyone currently on or maybe just got off could gives us a heads up as to the current crew... We will be boarding on the 28th December for the NYE Cruise and I know is still 6 weeks away but I guess the main crew would be the same after the transatlantic!

Interesting... We never received an email and we are on the Eclipse New Year's Eve sailing. I wouldn't have known about the discount if I hadn't seen this thread!! :)

I haven't had any problems login on to the my celebrity page... However when my page comes up the price of one my future cruises I have booked keeps changing... So far it's been as high as £2,800 per person & as low as £300 per person.... It's actually around the £1,350 mark so I'm hoping it sticks at the lower option at some stage....!! :D

Whenever I do click on my reservation it reverts back to the normal price... I can hope tho!!

Barbara from Hungary is currently creating the best drinks at sea on the eclipse right now. She will be there until mid January. We book our cruises on the ship she is working on.

It's not at all about freedom of speech. That's baloney. Opinions are one thing - being rude is another. It's a simple matter of politeness, especially when naming anyone who's career might depend on what's said. Would you like it if I posted on a public forum that you were dismal at what you do ? I don't think so. Do manners and common sense no longer matter ? I sure hope not !

 

I still feel it's unnecessary to bash someone. It's one thing to say someone is not your cup of tea, but over time... some of the comments are quite rude, and IMO, that's inappropriate.

So it ok to call a member of a public forum "rude" but it's not ok for someone to give their own opinion on someone or something on a public forum?!

It sounds like a case of double standards to me!

You can say what you want on this forum as long as its positive and rose coloured!

I often wonder what happened to the old adage : "if you dont have anything nice to say, dont say it at all"... especially when talking about others. Celebrity's onboard officers, crew & entertainers are working their butts off, 7 days a week, at all hours of the day and night, doing whatever possible to make your cruise a great one. Why bash them ? It's certainly very impolite, to say the least.

Whatever happened to freedom of speech... Surely if it's ok to say how wonderful people are on these boards then equally if you feel strongly enough about something or someone you have the right to post such things on a public forum? Positive or negative?

I thought that was the idea of these forums for people to give their opinions.... Their own opinions! Not just become sheep and follow others in saying how great things or people are...

In my honest opinion I feel perry grant is a decent chap doing what he does best, and has a cult following that is for sure... but I think his act is very dated and far from the modern luxury strap line that celebrity advertise!

I don't have a menu but you will find things like sandwiches, soups and salads... They do have a few deserts as well so all things for a light lunch!

We loved it on our first cruise on the silhouette as I'm sure you will... :)

It's a great place to escape the rush of the Buffett and chill out over a nice light lunch!

That's the CD's job to make those announcements. And to show up at events. If you cruise more, you'll hear the other CDs making the announcements and see them showing up at events as well.

 

In my view, Sue is one of the best CDs that Celebrity has.

If that's what the rest of them are like I would suggest celebrity change their strap line from modern luxury too 70s/80s butlins holiday camp... And they should all wear Red Coats!!!

I might have only done a couple of cruises but found the entertainment team on our first celebrity cruise to be 100% better in every department then that on the eclipse...

We had Sue as our CD on a recent cruise and could not have been less impressed. Her ego was massive, and her 'show' was like something you'd see on Saturday Night Live. It's nice that there is something for everyone on Celebrity, and we'll happily leave Sue for others.

I couldn't agree more... Got completely sick of either seeing her face everywhere or hearing her voice at every opportunity! Found it all a little fake to be honest!

I mean I'm sure she's a nice person but just felt it was more about her and not the team she had behind her... I didn't go on the cruise for "THE SUE DENNING SHOW".... and every single voice over dosnt really need to be sues and neither do I need to be told to to show my appreciation for everyone at the shows 3 times over!

As she's just come back from holiday (as others are saying) I do hope she's not on my next eclipes cruise in December!
