  1. and you couldn't have chosen a better cabin. Enjoy.
  2. The fact the imposition of the revised 'health' [I use the term advisedly as so many unknown issues are involved] is a fact and we don't know why and all thoughts on the subject are speculative until we are otherwise informed.
  3. I have to disagree. I think some sort of safety issue is involved but what, we haven't been told about. Unfortunately, if fifty people were asked what they needed as far as assistance is concerned, the likelihood is at least a dozen issues would be mentioned. Cruise lines would find it very difficult to cover all the various issues passengers might have if wanting to implement any changes so a blanket 'edict' is their only answer...which is most certainly what they have done. The distinction 'in law' does not necessarily apply to safety at sea. I'm no legal beagle but I'm pretty sure P&O and Cunard will have had theirs pouring over the new rulings and will have covered their backsides pretty thoroughly. Maybe all the ill will engendered might nudge some suits into giving more of an explanation. Maybe.
  4. I prefer cruising for those with less than full health has become very popular rather than too popular but in my untutored opinion, the numbers on our Cunard cruises do seem have to have increased over the years so H&S might be the reason a 'stopper' of sorts is now being applied. Other than that, until 'we' are informed, 'we' don't know.
  5. Megabear2 as you say, these two lines seem to be the only ones at the moment with this ruling which leads me to think, there must/might be a reason and we, the passengers involved have not been given privy to that reason. Until more information is given, the speculation will not enhance the reputation of either line with those who have and will be impacted. edit, I feel dreadfully sorry for those who will have had their imminent cruises cancelled, never mind those in the months to come and hope the full fare paid, will be refunded.
  6. I have to agree and this is from one where the ruling would impact on us on Cunard if we weren't lucky enough to have 'correct cabins' already booked. What is unforgivable is, as you say, the 'cack handed' way it's been implemented which leads to all sorts of speculation which in turn, does neither line any favours.👎
  7. Did you 'do' the northern route? We have in the past when sailing the last couple of sectors of QV's worldie and our New York stops were on the northern route which is cooler than The Azores itinerary. 7150 won't get the sun as much/early as 7171 but due to the extensive aft balcony, will get more than pure port side cabins and I would say, the weather was certainly good enough for sitting in swimwear well after Hamilton. I spent most of our last Hamilton stop watching the Oracle and Emirates skimming the water when practising for the America's Cup as we were lucky enough to be docked by the Dockyard. As I said, weather is in the lap of the Gods.
  8. Lovely cabin. Not stayed in that one but have 7171 and the deck 6 below yours. 7171 would have been a preferable cabin for the direct sun but it should be warm. We have sailed your itinerary a couple of times on Victoria and if you are sailing the southern route via The Azores then yes, you'll have decent weather for most of the trip unless the e=weather 'turns' and that is in the lap of the Gods.
  9. My parents loved the 'fjords' and continued their love affair with the renamed Saga Rose. They were on the ill fated '96 Worldie when Sagafjord caught fire. I have a photograph somewhere of passengers sleeping on deck as the fire had crippled the air con. They were also on QE2 when she ran aground off the East coast. They were on an extended TA which wasn't as extensive as had been planned as it turned out!
  10. If it's of any use, our cabin hairdryer on QA was a Dyson and I think the wattage is more then an Air Wrap.
  11. Thank you. I now have an excuse, oops sorry, reason for my poor dancing if Bell Boy ever gets his act together and cruises QA again. It's the crescenty bits!!👍,,,😃
  12. and was a verifying link provided? It doesn't show up anywhere else but believe me, I'm hoping you're correct. 🤞
  13. Ah but I also want bags which will pass the elephant test and when inadvertently dropped will either not split open and will hopefully know how to swim without getting too wet! 🙂
  14. Mine QV QV QE/QA 🙂 edit joint third place purely as we think QA's cabins are more suited to us than QE's None of QM2 cabins are suitable for us so she's off the radar.
  15. Me too on occasions. However, when one has followed threads over time, one can determine mockery over gently laughter so I use it sometimes and hope it's taken as meant. 🙂
  16. Being a bit paranoid, we like to be off asap so we can be sure our bags haven't been taken by mistake. We try and embellish the bags with coloured ribbons but so many bags look similar these days, we like to be doubly sure by picking up the bags as soon as we can. On extended stays, any hotel booking we've had has been booked for the night before so we can go straight to the room.
  17. For those who are members of the CC community, it's also an interesting exercise looking at those who like, say thanks or laugh at the various comments. One can often glean the preferences of the owner of them and indeed, can often predict who will add which one of the available three! 😀
  18. Bell Boy? It's in the diary when/if our dates ever coincide but remember to pack your steel capped shoes! 😀
  19. We booked a b2b but booked as two separate cruises so we could take advantage of double obc/internet perks and stock perks etc and luckily [a nervous minute or two there] in the same cabin. We will have a new cruise card but as we don't want to get off in S'ton at all, do we have to exit the ship in order to check out our cruise card and then have our new one registered or can it be done at the front desk or better still, by the Grills concierge? What was your experience MylesS?
  20. I don't think all the issues have been addressed as some might only be sorted in a refit but she's getting there. My dire was directed at the third sentence in #11. OK, a slight exaggeration on my part so will 'poor' do? As I have said many times before, I ignore reviews, good and bad written by folk when I have no knowledge of their past cruise history or indeed to a certain extent, travel or even lifestyle experiences. Anyone used to the equivalent of my old tatty car, would find a relatively simple but modern new car, luxurious in comparison. That car in turn would be paltry to someone used to a Bentley! If I don't have background info, I don't take any notice. For Cunard reviews and thoughts, come onto this board for objective and also subjective Cunard impressions.
  21. My opinions on Queen Anne can certainly be ignored, as can all the opinions given on this board so far. I have no problem whatsoever with that. What I can't ignore is the fact a few passengers give negative reviews and those opinions are taken as 'the mean' for all passengers. If Queen Anne is so dire, why are five respected [and I hope I can count myself in that quintet] CC Cunard board members happy with the product, ignoring the slight niggles, and indeed, quite sad at the thought of disembarking, with one who has all but taken up residence. Yes she has her 'quirks' and I'm thinking mobility issues here specifically but then I wouldn't consider QM2 for the same reasons. Lakesregion, I get the fact Cunard traditionalists won't accept her as a Cunard alternative and that is absolutely fine but she is an OK ship and thousands have had great holidays with her already but don't post reviews anywhere. For reference Lido aka Artisan buffet. Read the map and you'll know which station is where Wardrobe space Take more than a couple of suitcases and anyone will find wardrobe space problematic. Lifts Yes, a pain embarkation/disembarkation days but other than that, the ambulatory will find them OK and we, as wheelchair user have no real difficulty hailing a lift other than those two days Lift closure Meet H&S regs. and beyond...apparently and yes, I timed them and they did. I shall stop watch them again next year and will be on the case if the timing has been changed for the worse. Britannia dining No experience here but others have and seem to think it OK if club dining is chosen. I could go on but I am a QA bore so won't. However Pretty please, can she go to the Med in '27 and we get Victoria back!!😀
  22. Thanks for this. As a non ballroom dancer as far as anything other than basic waltz steps I would imagine there are many, many passengers like me who might want to get up and give it a go. The 'floor' is mine just as it is for every other passenger should I pluck up the courage to give it a go.
  23. I so hope you're right but I cannot find this news.
