  1. Of course it is but again, problematic if on a TA. Hopefully, Cunard would assist and a friend to whom this happened not on Cunard, told me fellow passengers pitched in to help.
  2. Ah Never knew there were well known shops on a TA [#7] trip where one could buy the essentials. One lives and learns!
  3. Quite honestly, if an airline 'lost' my bags and couldn't forward them, I would hope we'd have total consideration from Cunard and if they couldn't furnish me with rented clothes, I would expect to be treated with courtesy and consideration and be 'allowed', to travel as if we were dress code compliant.
  4. I agree re the restaurant...at the moment. As exlondoner pointed out configurations change with the requirements of passengers, so we will see. We have a few cruises booked on QA [come back summer '27 QV, perleeeeze] and we will treat our first time as a taster and will be forearmed for the next one.
  5. I'd order the fish and chips and the scotch egg, leave the fish and have the scotch eggs with chips and mushy peas. Eclectic I know but very tasty. or better still try out the 'Artisan' Lido. It sounds marvellous.
  6. Pop Ups for us too but then like exlondoner , they come as a Diamond perk and we only dine there if dining with friends either not at our table or not in our particular restaurant.
  7. The deck 11 lounges on the Vistas are magic. The whole frontage is windowed, almost floor to ceiling, so you can look out to the deck and beyond. As a Vista cruiser, I have been spoilt whch is why the QA lounge makes me a bit sad that's not somehow been replicated. Seats, for shorties like me might need more than one cushion and the seating generally does not appear, at initial glance to be one which prior to my knee op, I would easily have got out of. Hoists anyone? πŸ˜„
  8. Not exactly direct and most definitely opaque, but yes, the walls, or panels seen, are windows into the restaurant and will let in an amount of natural light.
  9. Sounds as if that's some of our obc allocated. Thx. πŸ™‚
  10. I agree. It's not as dark as I thought it might be and I particularly like the grey tones in the bathroom. The shower has to be a step up from the other Cunard ships. All in all, not bad Cunard! πŸ™‚
  11. and more likely, possibly not. πŸ™‚ Apart from crΓͺpes we're not bothered about flambΓ© dishes but woe betide the day table side finished Dover Sole becomes chargeable! Then Regent WILL be looking more attractive! 😁 ps As one of Cunard's most loyal regulars, I hope not to show any bias and will be objective with bouquets and brickbats when giving of my opinions and so I'll try and hold off on any more detrimental comments re QG restaurant until I've experienced it for myself which will be soon.
  12. I agree. A rather long corridor springs to mind with the naughty step running its length. 😲 Hopefully, it will be more inviting than it looks from photos published so far.
  13. We have always been discouraged from filling water bottles directly from a water facility on Cunard, on hygiene grounds. Better to fill a receptacle and then decant into your water bottle.
  14. and that's what I took the meaning to be and it's a grand idea as long as the bean counters are happy, but it's not how it could have come across so thanks for clarifying. Interestingly, it's not a common issue on Cunard for us as the top suites [on the Vistas] generally sell pretty quickly in our experience or maybe we just choose to sail popular itineraries. πŸ™‚
  15. and as a keen reader of your blog, I look forward to your thoughts.
  16. QA...Questions and Answers! Looking forward to hearing all about your [and others onboard] first impressions of 'QA'. πŸ‘
  17. This is potentially giving 'hope' to any mobility challenged passenger thinking of booking which is giving false information. I try to give facts, not risky potential hope. Occasionally I know I get it wrong, but not in this case. πŸ™‚
  18. There is no risk involved as risk implies 'a possibility'. A scooter will not be allowed in a non designated cabin so the scooter and passenger will be denied boarding. Also interesting, if assistance is required, notification must be given on booking as Cunard and P&O have REALLY tightened up [even for those who just rely on walking sticks now] on passengers on board who require this help in the case of emergencies at sea. As an interested party, I had a long conversation with our agent over this and he explained quite a few points I hadn't even considered but which, to be fair, don't apply to us as we always book on cabin release date and book a suitable cabin too.
  19. Yes, I do and the link is here but, you will not allowed a scooter in a cabin unless it is 'on the list' or in a specially adapted cabin, which you say isn't available for you. https://www.cunard.com/en-gb/accessibility/accessibility-on-board specifically for QM2 https://www.cunard.com/content/dam/cunard/marketing-assets/pdf/accessibility-pdfs/qm2-nonaccessiblestaterooms.pdf as you can see, for non adapted cabins, that means PG or QG
  20. We obviously travel light. That or the fact the car was capacious enough for our luggage!
  21. Even before the non appearance of porters, one's driver had his passenger heft the cases out of the boot for the porters to carry them off to 'the hole' occasionally! 😁 Now, one's taxi person helps.
  22. No porter magically appeared for us last May or July at the Mayflower terminal. I helped the taxi driver offload the bags and she took them over to the repository and yes, she got a great tip. However, on our return to Southampton, there were loads of porters waiting to help. Our grateful thanks was well received by 'our' porter.
