  1. I mean, you did say, "We LIVED life instead of worrying about sharing every waking moment with every one of our 2000+ "friends"., which is kind of a sh*tty take on people who enjoy sharing moments with their friends. They are living their life too, just are choosing to do it differently than you. Just let them enjoy their life the way they want to and stop judging them for it.
  2. oh man I agree - just let people live their lives and vacation the way they want to. I can't stand it when people do the "back in my day, we did without XYZ and lived a much better life"...yeah ok. 😄
  3. I've sailed on Allure in October and what you experienced was probably due to Covid. I saw the aqua show, ice show, Mama Mia, and 2 other production shows. I hope they don't follow NCL's lead, because Royal's entertainment is SO good.
  4. After reading an article about this and this thread, I am absolutely gutted 😞 Honestly, it does make me want to sell my FCCs and stick with Royal Caribbean. Hopefully they do not follow suit. One of the main reasons I cruise is having good *nightly* entertainment and to remove shows is a big no no for me. Sad really, because I have told people recently how I like NCL the most out of all the cruiselines I have sailed and how I thought that their entertainment was catching up to Royal.
  5. Makes sense, they are trying to keep it away from people like me who like a few bags of chips in the room for late night munchies haha
  6. We did America's cup excursion years ago and we are doing it again when we sail in Feb, it is so much fun
  7. I almost always do uber and lyft, but do whatever makes you feel comfortable. If you don't often do rideshare, do a taxi or the RCI transfer
  8. I don't think it is *always* an option on every sailing. I didn't see it on Liberty in Sept but saw it on Allure in Oct
  9. this is one of my favorite drink of the days. Yeah it's frou frou but you can actually get a buzz off it
  10. Oh yeah for sure. I DO think the newer NCL ships have bigger bathrooms than Royal, but smaller Bed/living space area and balcony. I am rarely in the room so for me, that is not a deciding factor when I am booking cruises, but I think everyone appreciates extra room, so I can overlook the lack of pictures. Also really like the storage around the couch area. I am in an inside on Symphony next month, unless I get upgraded, which is not likely, but would love an oceanview!
  11. Sorry you didn't like the room. It DOES for sure need a piece of art or some shelving over the dresser, really lack of detail when it comes to designing the room. However, I do think the space in the room looks enormous, esp compared to the picture you showed of the bathroom.
  12. I've not sailed Disney because I'm not a "Disney adult" nor do I have kids so I feel like the high price tag isn't worth it for someone like me...but it may be for some, idk...they do want an enormous amount tho for sure.
  13. if I wasn't sailing comped via the casino, I'd definitely be looking at other lines. I was looking at cabin prices for my in-laws and was like shocked at the price they want for a balcony.
  14. 🙂 I usually use my waterbottle so it isn't a big deal to me, but just wanted to share that so that people reading would know that the standard NCL package does include 6L of water on the first day, (believe this was started last summer) and the plus package includes unlimited bottled, both still and sparkling.
  15. thanks for the review! Sailing on Symphony on Feb 18th!!! (Also side note: NCL now does offer "• (6) 1L Flow Water bottles delivered to your stateroom on embarkation day*" to their base level free at sea package)
  16. so exciting! I'd look up NCL's youtube page and start making some cocktails at home 😄
  17. I have faith you can do it! Take an extended work leave for some much needed R&R lol
  18. Sorry I wasn't clear, I wasn't aware that if you sail in a non suite room solo, you get 2 points per night.
  19. Yeah, after a week of reflection, I think that I could do it again solo, but I would be more vocal in the beginning with people who violate normal boundaries and get the staff involved right away. Sometimes it is hard for me to remember to advocate for myself but it is something I am working on. I ended up 800.00 ahead on Allure and even on Freedom due to that hit on Three Card Poker! I look forward to hearing your thoughts on Harmony, I am sailing Harmony in April comped boardwalk balcony (I mean, I guess better than an OV lol) Are you doing a review?? Also debating either NCL Prima or Symphony in Jan/Feb, not sure on that one yet...I flip back and forth daily lol
  20. I had it at Chops in Sept on Liberty and was not impressed. The service I got was dreadful too, I just didn't feel comfortable sending it back for fear they would spit in it. I will try it again sometime, hoping for a different result I have heard from one of my servers on the Allure last month that the beef tenderloin is made from the same filets that Chops uses...I found this out because I was going to order the filet from Chops in the MDR to give it another go and the server shushed me and whispered this to me. Whether it's true or not...idk...but he I would assume he gets some sort of cut off selling upcharge items so not sure why he turned it down and told me that.
  21. Usually, I break even on the beverage package when I get it. But now I am Diamond, the 4 drinks+Prime drinks means I don't have to, and that is a savings for me. Also, I usually buy the internet when at sea so the free day per diamond member is another nice perk. I am also a coffee drinks and will normally buy coffee in the morning from Cafe Promenade or Starbucks, but having access to the diamond lounge will eliminate the need for that.
  22. There is a lot of value in what the OP is doing though. Drinks cost at least 15.00 each, so for each diamond member, that is at least a 60.00 savings per day. That is not even counting the value of the other diamond perks. Even if there wasn't any value to it, some people enjoy certain things, others don't. No need to shame anyone. In Sept on the Liberty, I paid 1k for the beverage package and it will be really nice not having to do that now that we are diamond.
