  1. Can anyone please give a recent review of Balmoral Island? I see ones from this past summer that talk about a lot of construction going on. The reviews on the Carnival site are so "love it/hate it", that I don't know what to think.

    Thanks.

  2. We are looking at these 2 resorts to do for the day for an all-inclusive. Can anyone tell me about the pools and beach area of each/either?? Which one would be better?? My wife loves to just lie on the beach, but we will have 2 18 yr old boys(men) with us and the pool at Paradise Island Harbour Resort looks much bigger and nicer than RIU.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated!!! We will be there on March 20th.

  3. TLBUTLER - thanks... Went to the site but when I tried to do anything on it, it asked for a login. :(

IT is a site for TA's. But if you google search for specifics, you can get in just to look that way.

Type into google, GOCCL PRIDE. If you click on the first link it returns you will get a wealth of information on the Pride.

  4. Go to the Carnival site and into your booking:

Under View Details - go to View Cruise Documents

Check the "Print General Information" box and open up that document.

Under Guest should be your name with your VIFP number and it should list you as Gold.

Thanks so much. I just checked and we are listed as Gold!!!!! Next stop - Platinum....

  5. OK, so I have 19 points and my next cruise in March is a 7 day cruise. This will put me at 26 and into Gold status. My question is, will I get a gold card for this cruise and able to attend party, or do I have to wait until I cruise after this one to technically be Gold???

  6. We have 2 cabins for our upcoming cruise. If I just buy 1 FTTF would it be possible for my kids in the other cabin to just drop their stuff off in my cabin since it is suppose to already be ready? I know they would have to wait in the regular lines to board, but my wife and I could just enjoy a drink while waiting for them to board and they would have a place to drop carry-on luggage and drinks and such.

    Just wondering???

  7. I just booked 4 day passes to RIU thru them for March. You put in a request on their website, and they emailed me in about an hour with specifics. (Cost, Deposit amount) and a link to actually book. I went thru that link and made the reservation. I had to put a 20% deposit down, which they charged right away. Then I pay the remainder to the resort when I get there. Better make sure I print and bring the receipt with me.... But it seems all on the up and up.

  8. On the old thread there was a tip to bring extension cords and multiple plug for the outlet. Can anyone who's sailed recently tell me if this is still a valid tip and what type of extension cord and multiple outlet wall plug should we bring? I know there are some limitations. Thanks!!!

And I'm also very happy the OP started the new thread. Just didn't know what was still valid and what wasn't with the old one.

This is a great tip. Rooms only have 1 standard AC outlet. I bought one on our last cruise that was a multi-strip with 5 additional plugs and 2 USB ports to charge the iPhones.

  9. I see on the funshop store you can purchase:

A: Cruise Cash Bar - used for bar purchases only.

B: Cruise Cash Photo - used for Photo purchases only.

C: Cruise Cash - used for anything.

My question is, why would anyone purchase bar or photo and limit what you can use the money on, when Cruise cash encompasses everything. Am I looking at this right?? If I just buy cruise cash, it should get credited to my S&S account as a $$ amount I can spend anywhere and on anything on board the ship.

    Am I correct about this???
