  1. Again, it depends on the individual sales. Just to try I quoted a new room in a group that I have created. The Early Saver $50 deposit rate is available and the deposit shows $100 (for two people).

The group sails next June and is on the Magic. Perhaps some of the previous reduced deposit sales didn't work in groups but this one definitely does.

With that said the current rate for that sailing for the same class of room is quite a bit less per person.

  2. The ES/reduced deposit sakes are not available with a group.

It depends on the sale, but most reduced deposit sales are eligible for group comps/amenities as they are just a modification of the Early Saver rate. Early Saver is almost always bookable into a group and with that comes the price protection. The agent does have to submit the price protection, but the good ones will check rates for you and submit it either by price reductions or onboard credit once paid in full.

  3. Depends on the sailing, and the amenities can be anything from gifts to onboard credit to cocktail parties to snacks in the room.

The Amenities don't really get better with more rooms, but there is a minimum number of rooms that have to book to get amenities. The Agent can also buy additional amenities if desired.

The pricing is usually better because agents will request room type blocks as soon as they are available and hold them as prices go up and keep the same rate.

  4. Your PVP may try and swing you away because the group will be handled by a different department and the PVP won't get any commission.

Make sure if you have a group of 10 cabins that you get any amenities that are offered (usually a fixed amount of things that can be done based on a points value), and if a certain number of people are booked you actually can get a discount.

If the groups department doesn't mention this go with a TA who can do all these things.

  5. It isn't that they are that much better than a decent burger on land. They are way better than the blackened pucks that used to be served at the "grill" on the ships.

They are probably equivalent to a five guys burger, but much faster. The line moves very fast and there is little wait to get your food.

  6. On the Dream back in '14 there were two, the senior one was in the aft dining room, and Shane who had been on our previous two conquest sailings was in the mid dining room that was mostly ATD.

Shane requested moving to the Dream apparently because he liked New Orleans better than the port Conquest moved to.

  7. I may have missed why they were there, but I do recall seeing a rack of this kind of thing on the Breeze in May. It was on the lido deck by one of the bars. I do not recall if kids were in the pool.

I don't know how that worked as we don't have kids, but I do remember seeing that.

  8. It's been a few years since I was down that way, but I believe that going west from Jamaica to Cozumel you will pick up a knot of current or so.

You also have to realize that going to NOLA you have 8-10 hours at 12 knots maximum up the river.

Thanks for your insight, as usual. I appreciate the experienced voice sharing how and why things happen!
