We always check our Order History in the Cruise Planner to make sure our purchased or perks are showing.

If you have a beverage package that will show on your Xpress Pass - CALL for Classic Package and PALL for premium.

    Thanks for this info!

We have Premium Drink pkg and Internet as Perks--so we never actually "ordered" them, we just checked the box when we booked the cruise directly through Celebrity.  They are not in the Order History or on our Xpress Pass (but they are correctly noted on our booking confirmation).   Should they be there in the Order History, even though we didn't place an order for them?  Where on the Express Pass would that be listed?

Did you have a TA for your booking or were you self-booked? Just wondering if they will make me go through the TA for this request.

I self booked. Not sure if you'd have to go through your TA for this.  It's worth a try!

  3. I was assigned to early Dining and waitlisted for anytime/select dining for an upcoming December Epic cruise.  I sent an email a couple of weeks ago to CelebrityDining@celebrity.com with my name, reservation #, and just a simple, one line statement requesting Select dining.  I was skeptical that anything would come of it, but the very next day I received a nice return email that Select Dining was confirmed--and it promptly showed up on my online cruise information.  Nice customer service!!

  4. I love this--thanks for sharing your fun experience!

You're actually quite normal. I know this is nerdy and I'm not really sure why I actually know the scientific explanation for this phenomenon:  in a nutshell, the sense of smell passes through a couple of areas in the limbic systems of the brain where emotion and memory are processed.  Vision and hearing do not pass directly through this area of the brain.  Therefore scents can invoke very powerful memories with emotions attached.   How wonderful to be transported back to an awesome cruise just by shampooing your hair!

If this comes up on Jeopardy, now you'll all know the answer....

  5. Hi all, we have a 3-night Specialty Dining package on our upcoming 9-night Silhouette cruise.  In the cruise planner I can make dinner reservations, but I don't find a way to indicate that they are already paid for as part of our package--it wants me to pay with OBC or a credit card.  Also, as expected, there is an indication that the first night is reserved as part of the package, but it doesn't indicate which restaurant that first night reservation is for.

Can  you experts help me with some information and reminders please?.  (yes I have used the search feature but haven't really found everything I'm looking for).

    • Is it possible to book specialty dining reservations online as part of our purchased package before we board?  When I try to do this online, it wants to charge me for the reservation.
    • The first night has one of my 3 dinners automatically reserved but I can't find which restaurant is reserved.  Is it true that I can switch this to another night and/or restaurant?  How do I do this?
    • We have anytime dining.  Can I make MDR reservations online pre-cruise?

Thanks in advance!  Also feel free to add any tips or other info.  We're not new to specialty dining--we have our favorite restaurants and preferred times and dates in mind--but I believe this is the first time we've ever purchased a package pre-cruise on Celebrity, so I'm just not sure how to get this done.  We usually purchase a dining package or individual dinner reservations on board.

  6. Have you looked at the Swan / Dolphin? They are Starwood (now Marriott) properties near Epcot that offer the benefits of a Disney hotel without the Disney price.

I also would suggest you take a look at Swan / Dolphin. Nice hotels, more adult oriented. Beautiful grounds and you can stroll around the beautiful lake. Free shuttle to the Magic Kingdom and if you get bitten by the Disney bug and want to see more, you can actually walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios from there. Or you can take a boat ride to these parks from the hotels (no charge). I personally love Epcot and think it's a great way to spend a day or part of a day.

Right inside the entrance to the Magic Kingdom you'll find a train. I would suggest you ride it--it circles the park and will allow you to see some sights and get a feel for the layout. There are several stops but you don't have to get off if you don't want to. It will bring you back to where you started, then you can walk down main street to the castle.

As someone suggested, many "rides" are actually more like attractions--nothing like a thrill ride or roller coaster. I love to ride the kid rides in Fantasy land, just beyond the Castle.

Just a thought for you: if you invest in the Park Hopper option, you can actually hop on the monorail and travel between the Magic Kingdom and Epcot--visiting both parks in the same day.

There's also a place called Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney). No entrance fees, and there is dining and shopping there. A great way to get some Disney mojo without paying an arm and a leg to get in.

I hope you enjoy your visit to WDW!

  7. Just something to consider about Tuscan: sitting at a table for 2 by the window with that incredible view--a great way to start your vacation! We enjoy both restaurants. Murano would get our vote for best dining experience, but I still might choose Tuscan for that great first night on the ocean vibe, especially if you're there early enough for sunset.

  8. As you probably are aware, these are angled balcony cabins— our favorites! (haven’t ever been in a suite though) We’ve been in 1044 and 1077 on Silhouette, and 1132 on Reflection (on the other side of the hump from 1120 but probably very similar). The cabin itself is the typical layout. What makes it different is the deep, fully covered balcony. They are huge! We LOVE the large balcony, but be aware that some say they feel there’s not enough sunlight so the cabin feels dark to them. We don’t find that to be true for us at all, but we’re all different. :) We've enjoyed the locations too—close to elevators but still quiet. There is a video on YouTube of Reflection 1075.

  9. I agree with the people who suggested that you should not book a large package for a 7-day cruise. In your place, I’d stick with the MDR or book only a 3-night package to try Murano, Tuscan Grill, and Lawn Club Grill

I agree with this 100%. A 3-night package for Murano, Tuscan, and Lawn Club Grill. Murano if you're only going to do one Specialty.

  10. Hello all! Funny I was reading all this great advice thinking it seemed kinda familiar, then realized I am the OP from a year ago :o I did book this cruise port side for 2019 after the original posting. Thanks so much to all of you for the amazing suggestions! At the moment I’m in my hotel overlooking Fort Lauderdale Beach waiting to board the beautiful Silhouette tomorrow for 9 nights: Antigua, Barbados, St. Lucia, and St. Kitts. Happy and safe cruising everyone!! At least one of you will be on board with us :champagne-toast:(y)

  11. Hi WonderMan Adam, & Mike! When you're getting off the ship on 1/26, we'll be getting on--can't wait! (Hello msteries!) So I'm excited to follow along with you on your journey. Thanks so much for taking the time to share.

When you're settled in, please report on what entertainment is offered--house band, etc--and the nightly entertainment in the theatre.

    Enjoy your cruise!

  12. I'm not sure exactly how onboard booking works. If we already have a cruise booked for Feb 2019, can we re-book the same cruise onboard during our upcoming cruise if it's a better deal? Or is it only for new bookings?

If there's more I should know, can someone give me an "onboard booking 101" lesson? :)

    THANKS!

  13. We haven't been on the Summit--I can only speak for the s-class ships. Unlike most people we actually prefer the Oceanview to the main dining room. I think if you're dining with a group the MDR would perhaps be preferable, but it's usually just the two of us for dinner. We really don't like the close proximity of the 2-top tables in the MDR. We feel packed in like sardines in the MDR, but we find the atmosphere for dinner in the Cafe relaxed, uncrowded, and the aft outdoor seating just cannot be beat! Haven't seen crab legs or lobster, but we always find great food to enjoy! There's a carving station and lots of vegetable, side dishes, and large salad bar, plus pasta, etc. So on a 7 night cruise we might do 1 dinner in MDR, 2 or 3 specialty restaurants, and the rest in the Oceanview on the aft deck enjoying the breeze, watching the sunset, and appreciating our peaceful privacy. And then maybe a stroll to Cafe al Bacio for coffee and dessert!

  14. Hi Z-Bird! While I wouldn't encourage a tight timeline, to answer your question: yes, it can be done but I don't know if I'd say your chances are good. It just depends on factors out of your control February we self disembarked Reflection in Miami. We went down around 6:30 AM, ended up being near the front of the line, were in a cab by 7:01 and at the airport around 20 minutes later. Quick check-in and security was a breeze. We could have made an 8:55 flight easily. Our flight wasn't till around 10:55 and we had lots of time to wait at the gate. Everything went perfectly, but it would only take a little glitch here or there to make you miss your flight. Personally, I'd hate to lose my relaxed, de-stressed cruise vibe by stressing myself out on the last day. But if you're the adventurous type you might actually enjoy the adrenaline! :)

Good luck in whatever you choose! And enjoy your cruise!

  15. Our recent experience on the Reflection was great. Feb 18, went down a few minutes before 6:30. We were in a cab at 7:01 and at the airport at 7:20 or so. Made our 10:55 flight with plenty of time. Didn't seem nearly as crowded as last year on Silhouette.

The luggage valet program--where you check your bags on board all the way to your destination--was available. I wonder if people took advantage of that instead of self disembarkation....
