We’ve gone back and forth about whether to switch to a balcony since we booked the grand scenic ocean view. Looks like they now cost about the same. As much as we’re excited to try something different I always enjoy spending some time on the balcony. It’s only a four night cruise.
final payment is this week- so I guess it’s time to decide.
What do you think?

Just read about all the pool noise from above. I think we’ll probably go with a balcony cabin instead.

We are considering a cruise on the ncl gem. It seems to me that all of the mini suites are on the 11th deck. Are any of these rooms obstructed? Trying to figure out if it’s worth taking the chance to book an obstructed mini suite?
Please share any advice! Thanks 😀

thanks to the rave reviews about these rooms we booked one for next year. I was really surprised to see this cabin available on the Victory for next spring break, so even though we were hoping to sail from either Tampa or Port Canaveral I think it’ll be worth the extra driving. 🚢

When we booked our last cruise, all that was available at the time was the late seating or anytime dining. We waitlisted for the early seating and recieved an email 48 hours later that we got the earlier seating. We were booked in a suite, so I figured that was the reason it was switched so quickly.

How far out were you able to book a casino rate? We’re lookkng to book for April 2019 but it seems that the available casino rates only show up online for summer cruises.
Thanks

I would say yes, since the jr suite is a higher category, remember you can pretty much always upgrade, but never downgrade if you booked ES.... if the same cruise
If you booked refundable and before final payment, can always cancel as above post suggests.
so you cant decide on which cruise or which cabin? its easy to upgrade on same cruise, not so easy to transfer to another cruise, then you need to book refundable as above says.
Trying to decide between the two cruises. We'll start our trip in Disney and either drive to Tampa or Miami for a short cruise.
Paradise is 5 nights to Cozumel and grand cayman
Victory is 4 nights to Cozumel and key west
The number of nights doesn't go into the decision much because we enjoy islands more then sea days.
I enjoy balcony's but read the paradise balcony's are pretty tight. I feel like the scenic grand ocean view room would be different and fun. Have you by any chance stayed in one of these rooms before?
The rushing to make a decision is only bc there is only the once scenic OV left.

Having some trouble deciding between the victory scenic ocean view and paradise jr suite for next spring. Being there is only one of the scenic ocean views left I am thinking of putting a deposit on that cruise. If I change my mind can the deposit be transferred to the other cruise?
Thanks!

good morning...
We are considering a cruise on the paradise next spring. We are looking at the jr suites, and a bit concerned about sea success. Is there a lot more movement on the new deck vs staying on the 11th floor?
Thanks :)

Is room 9201 on the victory similar to this? We usually enjoy balcony’s, but I feel like this may be different and fun

We recently returned from another wonderful Carnival cruise. I’ve already started to look at cruises for next April, but my husband‘s casino rates are not showing up yet For a vacation so far away.
I’m wondering how close to sailing those rates begin to show up?

Im trying to convince my husband and daughter to give the brilliance a try instead of our usual carnival spring break cruise for next year. Both are hesitating bc they love carnivals piano bars. I am wondering about the schooner bar piano sing a longs. How are they?
Thanks!

Its an easy walk.... many of your fellow cruisers will be heading the same way.

My husband got the offer for a captain suite once and it was about $2500.... turned it down.
Last year we got an up sell somewhere in the range or 500-700 for a grand suite and the extra space was great.
I believe both offers were when we had obstructed view jr suites planned.
-
Never heard of a suite that has an obstructed view???
Paradise- jr suite obstructed. We’ve stayed in this category before and I don’t really mind the slight obstruction in v 21 or 30
-
I’m trying to decide between a regular balcony cabin and an obstructed view suite. The price difference is about $150 more for the suite, but not really sure it’s worth it. Just wondering if anyone has an opinion on this decision. Thanks

Thanks for the review and fir posting kids club schedules.. we are looking forward to the sunshine cruise in a couple months. How difficult was it to make dining reservations for the specialty restaurants? Trying to decide what night to make reservations but we want to see the menus for each night before deciding.

we have signed up for the excursion again for our April cruise. I am hoping that the tour I’ll run this time :)
-
Last year we tried to do this excursion but it was canceled because not enough people had signed up. It looks really fun though and we registered for it for our upcoming cruise and are crossing our fingers that it will run this time.

We LOVED the amazing Cozumel race:)
-
last spring we made reservations for two different scavanger hunt type activities on Nassau. Both were canceled for low registration. Wondering if anyone has had luck with the city seeker excursion in Nassau? Wed love to do this type if activity on our next cruise.
Thanks
Balcony vs spa balcony
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
Currently have booked a balcony cabin deck 6 on the carnival horizon. The price of a spa balcony on deck 14 is pretty comparable. Is there an advantage to the spa balcony if we’ve never used the spa in our past cruises?
