One of our favorite while on the Epic transatlantic is the nightly crepe from the buffet.
I hope it is available on POA Hawaii cruise. If not, what other late night snack(s) would be available?
Thank you for sharing.

If you want to see more of Europe, go with Serenade.
If you want to see more of Canada & NE, go with Jade.
Whichever you choose, you can't be wrong. Enjoy your cruise!

Any suggestion for a value-for-money pre cruise hotel?
We are thinking of staying two nights prior to our POA cruise.
Thank you for your advise.

Happy to find your review (and photo). Will revive our memory two years back, same ship, same itinerary (almost. Ours was 5 nights, sans Penang and no overnight).
Looking forward.

You are very kind.

We always check in our suitcases. We just keep our valuables and important documents with us.
That way we can immediately enjoy the ship after boarding without having to carry many things around.

I choose my cruise based on itineraries. I am not particularly loyal to any cruise line, although I do find some cruise lines are better than the others. Still, I like to try new lines at least to know them, and for variety.

Thank you, mking8288.
That's very kind of you to share the Carmel code.
Our cruise is Vision OTS. We'll start from Quebec City and reaching Bayonne on Oct 23rd.
Looking forward.

One more question, if I may.
How to go from the Cape Liberty Cruise Terminal to Manhattan? Is taxi readily available?

You can plan ahead on that day by having the car service (Carmel or Dial 7, latter's rates usually a little higher) to pick you up in front of Schwartz .....
Being a weekday evening commute with rush hour traffic, allow 2 hours of trip time to reach the airport, ...
I would plan on leaving midtown by 7 PM, reaching JFK before 9 PM for 3 to 3.5 hours of generous time to get thru baggage screening, check-in, TSA security ........
Thank you for your advise.
We'll keep the timing in mind. We certainly don't want to miss our flight back home.... 😀

If you use Schwartz you can walk to Times Square ........
Thank you for your advise.
Yes, considering the time, we'll just do Times Square and Central Park.

Wow.... very happy to read your insight! Grateful to know that we can store our baggages, and yes, we'll gladly do the HOHO bus.
We will be there on Monday, Oct 23rd 2017. We will be very careful with the traffic time.
Thank you, thank you again.

We will disembark at Cape Liberty in the morning. Our flight departs from JFK at midnight.
Is there any private tour we can do to enjoy NYC? The ship's disembarkation transfer is just a drive through and not interesting.
Thank you for advise.

RCI gives one vegetarian item in their menu. In my opinion, having ONE item is not an option.
Yes you can eat it but you don't have other choices.

We were on AMA Basel to Amsterdam in late November/early December and enjoyed the Christmas Markets very much.
It was cold but not too cold.

Merry Christmas, everyone!
Before I continue, let me share some printed items.
The cruise overview, day by day at a glance.
The Daily Cruiser says that "Every Day is a New Life to the Wise One". 👍
On this Welcome Aboard edition, there is a list of all the important names :
Captain Ron Schuegard
Cruise Manager Nikola Grujin
Hotel Manager Gemma Corcoran
Engineer Marian Nistor
Executive Chef Jozsef Lado
Maitre'D Catalin Constandatos
Purser George Lukacs
1st Housekeeper Mariana Andonova
And here is the program for embarkation day :
And if you are wondering, the AmaPrima is not sailing until the next morning. Hence we arrived in Breisach after lunch and our visit to Riquewihr is started only by 1pm.
Program for day 02 - December 29th, 2016
A word about excursion : they maintain a rigid schedule so you'd better be ready 10 minutes before departure. When they say excursion start at 1pm, as our GOOD Cruise Manager Nikola said, it does not mean that you assemble at the lounge at 1pm, or you leave the ship at 1pm, but the bus leaves at 1pm!
Sorry I don't have photo of the listening device, but I can assure you it is lightweight and wotks very well. You can hear your guide even if you are a little bit out of the cattle-herd 😎. Just ensure you have it charged every night while you are sleeping.

Thermal Spa question
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
I don't know which ship and itinerary you are on, but while on Epic transatlantic my wife and myself were using the thermal spa EVERYDAY, and we enjoyed it very much. We are in the middle of the ocean anyway and have a lot of time to pass.
