@KmomChicago I cannot to begin to imagine how you feel. You have been through the wringer and some, I can imagine and for that I’m sorry. Not sorry you and the graduate are going on a cruise to what I know will be like a great breath of fresh air for both of you.

    Wishing you all the best.

@Funsince1983  Ranger is beautiful.  How is the patient?

Thanks! She's doing pretty well. I'm already sick of hearing "MOM this is BORING," though. 🫠🫠🫠

We just canceled our Bermuda trip for this fall and opted for Europe instead (neither of us was excited to go to Bermuda).  Glad to hear we didn't make a mistake by canceling.

Bermuda is beautiful, it's just.. boring. If you're looking for a relaxing beach vacation I'm sure it's great, but that's just not my scene. I do not think you'll regret your decision at all. Bermuda is basically the same latitude as North Carolina so who knows what you could get weather wise in the fall, you know? It could be cold.

    Good for you!!

Mr Mommio booked us a cruise last year to Alaska. Umm, I don’t recall either of us having any discussions or opinions about Alaska. Plus I hate being cold.

Well, I put on my big smile and said “I can handle this”

It was one of the best experiences of our lives.

    Have fun!

Same. My aunt had an Alaska cruise booked for her 30th anniversary in May 2020, we all know what happened there. October 2020 my uncle was diagnosed with cancer, he passed in May 2021, at some point after that my aunt ended up rebooking her trip for May 2022 and asked if I wanted to go. I kept teetering back and forth knowing we'd be gone on her actual anniversary and her first without my uncle and just general do I want to go to Alaska? I went. And it was AMAZING. I can't wait to take the kids, I think that'll probably be on the books for next year. Adding a few of my fav Alaska pics.

I'm having a day at work....it's a good thing that the weather is nice, I forsee getting home and having a glass (ah heck, make that a bottle) of wine on the lawn. I think my coworkers aretrying to get me admitted to the psych ward this week....

I am also having a day at work. And they're been sawing (I don't know if that's even what they're doing, but cutting up) the sidewalk on the street below my office window and holy hell is it the most annoying sound ever.

@Funsince1983 Book the Bermuda trip...and then if a hurricane is on the way, you'll end up in New England and Canada anyway.  It happened to me two years ago.  It's a hard pivot on what to pack though...

We've done Bermuda and Canada out of NYC (it's our home port) before and I honestly don't love Bermuda enough to try it in the early fall. It can't be downright cold in Bermuda the end of September/October. Idk. If choosing between Bermuda and Canada/NE in the fall, I think I'm going north for the foliage. I'm not committing to anything yet since itineraries aren't even out yet, but I'm definitely interested in sailing VV from NYC because it's so much easier to make a trip work when you aren't adding travel days on to both ends.

Thanks for all the suggestions.  Realtor says it's a buyers market right now in Bryan, TX. I made a low counter offer.  We shall see.

Ooo yup. Texas is a buyers market. My dad moved to Texas less than a year ago and is trying to get out, but with all the new construction going up it's hard to sell.

  5. @BohJang I don't remember where you are, but I'm with everyone else that that's super low. I thought it was still a sellers market everywhere. We were going to an open house Sunday (my husband is a sick individual with commitment issues who enjoys moving, I agree to it as long as I don't need to help AND we profit) and that morning they updated the listing to best and final offers due by 5pm that day. I just looked now and it's pending and on the market 8 days as of today. I'd hold out if it's not urgent to sell ASAP.

    OK, Time to check in.

In a couple of weeks I'll be bending my elbow in New Orleans.

    How about you?

I'm a little over 2 weeks out from a girls trip. Flying into Oslo, meeting my sister and her BFF there, spending Thursday/Friday night there, Saturday we head to Sweden for Taylor Swift, Saturday/Sunday in Sweden then we're heading to Finland for two more nights, then home.

July I've got another girls trip on the books. Just heading down to the besties on Wednesday in Charleston for New Kids on the Block (no Salt n Pepa this year @Roscoe13) Thursday night and then Sam Hunt Friday night (which is also my birthday), home Saturday.

Family trips are done for this portion of the year. At least ones that involve major travel. Shore house and other within driving distance jaunts this summer, but the big ones are done till fall.

I also have a MNVV hanging around I need to figure out something to do with...

How long have they lived there? DH used to live there before college in the ‘70’s - early ‘80’s.

They don't live there full time, just our beach house. They were still in high school then haha. I think they bought it around 2001.

Thanks! Not gonna lie, it hit the spot. I do need to bake another loaf for the week now though, went through one of the two I made and we usually need at least two every week.

We have a house in Loveladies. By "we," I mean my parents. 🤣🤣🤣

Nothing like a Jersey Shore summer.

Same here, my FIL just turned 90. Last of 15, been suffering with dementia for 10 years. My DH is the last of his 3 sons. It’s so hard but all we can do is be here ❤️

My gramma always complains about having no one her age to talk to. Like I get it, but... better than the alternative haha.

Thank you.  I was "nervous" that the trip would be a lot on mom, but she is a real trouper and it warms my heart to see the two sisters who were so close back together probably for the last time on earth.

My gram is 97 and she's been the only one left of the combined 15 siblings of hers & my grandpas for.. gosh, I don't know, at least 10-15 years now. It's so nice that your mom still has your aunt.

Great news that surgery is now in the rear view mirror!  Does she have any restrictions while healing?  Hope this was her non dominate arm.

It is amazing how we humans gather stuff and it seems to stay.  Purging is good but can certainly be overwhelming.  Treat yourself to lunch!

It, unfortunately, is her dominant arm. I've been relegated secretary for the time being. I'm real good at 2nd grade homework. 🤪

  12. It has been a week. We made it through surgery. 🙌🏻

Walkie-poo is the proud owner of some pins in her elbow for the time being. They should come out in 6-8 weeks hopefully and she should be cast free and ready to go by pool season.

I'm working from home aka cleaning out closets. 4 trash bags of random ish from the coat closet that I decided I'm not even going through, it's all just going. Threw up a curb alert on some freecycle pages and sayonara. I can't be bothered. Now I just need to actually go put it at the curb. Also going to pick up another car load of stuff from that auction site, my third trip now. This is dangerous. Planned to head there early but decided to wait a little and maybe I'll see if there's anywhere interesting nearby for lunch.

I need photos.  Actually, I need video to see how it has affected his gait.

His walk reminded me of a pinball machine when a ball is going down a chute and just bouncing back and forth quickly off the sides.

Yes that was a terrible season finale. He kept saying how much weight we was losing but it was hard to see a difference. His walk is forever burned in my brain. Hey he has a Facebook page! There you go. Closure. He seems to be a temu advertiser. The surprising news is that in one post he says he’s down to 385.good for Charley.

Yeah ok, he's down to 385lbs and I'm the Pope. 🙄🙄🙄

Yes! Talk about delusional and entitled. And his “caretaker” brother didn’t help the situation. I knew as soon as I heard “protein shake” it was going downhill. And I’m so glad I wasn’t on the plane with them with him in a diaper.

I want those two hours of my life back. The secondhand embarrassment was real when he "surprised" Dr Now.

Do any of you use USPS informed delivery? I do and it showed an envelope on its way from my County Courts Jury Services Division. I panicked and then zoomed in and could see it was for my son. I’m relieved but feel bad for him. Hopefully his work has a good jury duty policy in place!

I do! It's how I found out about my jury duty last week haha.

    WOW! I’m sorry.
P.S. don’t send that juju over here.

Haha will do. Luckily she's taking it in stride and it being our third broken arm and having gone through the same break & surgery with Wy, it's a little less unnerving.

    More free time? 🤷‍♀️

Haha I wish. It's my youngest/least involved so it really only mitigates the chaos, doesn't free up any time.

Don't miss those days, but then again I drove my parents crazy with my many trips to the ER. It's part of the process. Hope all goes well. 😎

    Thank you!

I’m guessing said child is also out of the game for awhile?

    I hope it heals quickly!

Yes, however said child has already let me know that she still needs to support her teams, which honestly, I'm proud of her for even thinking about. I'm not taking her to practices but I'll take her to her games to cheer on her teammates.

    Nephew has surgery tomorrow…broken ankle.

Looks like we're going to need surgery (AGAIN) also. Soft casting to wait for swelling to go down and surgery to set and put in pins early next week. Same exact break my 10 year old had when she was around the same age. All 3 have now broken some part of their arm.
