Do not miss the Premier cocktail party. The drinks flow freely and the appetizers are top shelf.

Thanks for the review. Yep, as usual when it comes to bartenders, momey talks.
Yet another bad review of O'Sheehans. I am sorry to see this. I really thought I would be in there a lot due to the proximity to the casino.
My understanding is the Blackjack is a little better at the $25.00 level and even better at the $50.00 level. I sure hope so or I will be spending more time drinking and playing roulette.

For those of you taking a future cruise on the Epic don’t let any negative remarks I make about this cruise worry you. The Epic was a good ship but just not my cup of tea. For many folks the Epic is their favorite ship.
I'm working on the next day of our trip tonight. I apologize for how long it takes me to update this thread but words don't come easily to me and my keyboarding skills aren't the best.
You said a mouthful. To me every cruise is good. It sure is better than being at work or working around the house.
I have several friends that love the Carnival Dream. I call it the Carnival Nightmare. Different strokes for different folks.

Loving the pics you posted so far can't wait to see more!!!

That looks absolutely fantastic. Thanks for the review. I will be putting my feet up there in 71 days.

You guys are all fantastic! Thanks for the replies! I do feel better about it now. I expect people, we are on a ship with our 4,000 closest friends right? HA! I will tell my sweet DH about all your responses and hopefully it will put his mind at ease! Sounds like there is lots to do for my kids too (4 and 13- and my niece 2 and nephew 10).
A cruise is what you make of it. Plan ahead, make reservation ahead of time online. Go in with an open mind and no there will be lines, crowds etc. Take it all in stride. Sometimes you have to make or find your own fun. I have been on some pretty busy ships and always manged to find a quiet place or a loud place. As stated above go in with an open mind and plan your day.
I have friends who have been on over 100 cruises and they said it best, "your are in the middle of the ocean with unlimited food and drinks. Somebody is waiting on you, no dishes and no cleaning. You can sleep in all day or stay busy for a week straight. How can you not have a good time."

Sharing what??? What am I missing? Do I need a secret decoder ring?
Okay, do this
Delete the asterisks
And paste
imgur. com/a/3EE50
where the asterisks were. Then remove the space between imgur. and com.
CC doesn't like you posting addresses of other sites. They turn the address to astericks.

We have no plans to remove it, it's just a very bizarre thing to get my head around. You pay for a cruise and then judging by the replies here, pay for the crews salary ontop. This feels morally wrong to me in some ways. Maybe I am misunderstanding the point, but shouldn't the cruise line be paying their staff regardless? I always tip for good service, at my own discretion, just feels a bit cheeky that we don't have that choice.
Believe me the staff more than earn those tips. By the time you get off the ship there will most likely be someone you slip an extra 20 or so to.
The tipping is how they keep the prices so low. Compare the cost of cruising today to cruising 50 years ago. Look at the amenities and what cruising offers today compared to 50 years ago. Now adjust for inflation. Cruising, even when including the tips, is way cheaper today than it was back then.
If by some chance you feel your cabin steward is not earning his pay contact the right people with a specific complaint and it will be taken care of.

I'm a little confused. Why did you email NCL about the concerns with O'Sheehan's if you haven't cruised and experienced any problems? It may have just been a bad week with the transition and things could definitely be cleared up by the time you cruise (and could even be fine now). I know when people have concerns about something they have experienced, that is negative on their cruise, and they contact cruise companies regarding it, it's sometimes hard to get a response back. I'm just wondering if you will get a response at all since this is not actually an experience that you have had yet and merely just a concern, one of which they have no way to know if this will happen during your cruise or not. Just wondering...let me know if you get a response. I would be interested in hearing what they have to say. I can only imagine that it would just be a general response since they can't predict anything.
:p
I still haven't heard anything back yet. I do see a reoccurring theme concerning the service in O'Sheehans. I do hope they get this taken care of in the next three months before I cruise. Of course the slow service might save me a ton of money. The longer I wait for food the less time I will be on the blackjack table.

So far, so good. I am following. We will be on her in March. I am a CCL cheerleader but felt I had to give NCL a shot.
-
Following, can't wait for more. We sail her in March of 2017.
We live in Plant City and you are right it is great having so many cruise port withing a couple of hours drive.
We have spent the night before in Port Canaveral a couple of times. The drawback to that is staying too late at the hotel bar and feeling like you know what when you board the ship.
-
Here is what we did. Asked the steward to clean it out. Then everytime I passed a bar on the way back to the cabin I would ask for a couple of beers unopened. Put them in the mini fridge and voila. Never had a problem getting the beers unopened.
That is good to know. My wife and I love hanging out on the balcony during sail away and also when we return to the room in the evening. Not having to pay for drinks out of the mini bar is a nice plus.

Day 7 Evening
The good. Enjoyed a quiet nap and the gentle rocking of the ship. Later I went shopping and enjoyed a lovely lunch of meatball sandwich and lemon cake. Dinner was good with the gnocchi and calamari with great service at La Cucina. Quick tip, you can order almost any of the pastas with a different sauce so I had my gnocchi with alfredo. Also ask how to get there at the *buffet. Was going to head to the magician comedy show but had to straighten out some stuff. Currently I am listening to the waves outside and enjoying the peace in my stateroom. Will head out for perfect couple and, quest in just a little bit, or stay in and watch a movie. Finally relaxed again.
The not so good. I don't like negativity but I do value truth, so read further only if you are okay with hearing the negative. *First, have a mix up in reservations for dinner and go back and forth to fix it, yes they tell me to go to the actual restaurants. Told the wrong place to pick up liquor, ended up it was just late to the stateroom. Called for my laundry three times and finally went to dinner in slightly dirty pants (spilled on by waitress yesterday and another pair by a guest the day before so no extras). *Mistakes on bill which have to be fixed, so do check it. I have been trying to keep the posts upbeat but the service is very inconsistent across the ship. The biggest problem is instead of calling the different departments they have you running around fixing stuff for them. Huge tip, call 00 from your room. You will skip the lines and running around. I miss the Epic I knew with the excellent service. If I didn't know just how grand she can be I probably wouldn't be so dissapointed.
I'll post some more thoughts tomorrow and am happy to answer questions.
It sounds like you had a great time with a couple of hiccups along the way. The statement about inconsitent service seems to be a reacuring theme since the Epic docked at PC. I hope they get it squared away before my March cruise. If not we will still have a great time. Good food and drinks in the middle of the ocean....we will have a good time.

I believe you will pay for the food and drink.
Good catch, I guess I should have said included, prepayed, or something to that effect. IOW it is included with my fare.

These are postcard quality!!!

I Emailed them to make sure they are aware there is a definite problem with the service at O'Sheehan's. Yours is one of several reviews that states O'Sheehan's is lacking in the service department.
Being the optimist that I am I am hoping they will look into it and maybe tighten it up a little bit.
I will definitely have a good time on my cruise. We always have a good time no matter what. We make our own good time. There have been times the hotel and weather was horrible. We just walked down to a place with a pool table and bar food. A couple of pitchers later and all was well with the world.
We will be in the middle of the ocean with free food and drinks. Couple that with a casino and we will have a blast.
-
I hope O'Sheehans gets it together too...it did not get any better during the week trust me.
No noise problems at all! :) (And we were even by the kids club)
Thanks for the response. I am loving the review.
I Emailed NCL customer service with my concerns about O'Sheehan's. I will post back with their response if I get one out of them.
-
I hope O'Sheehans gets their act together before I sail the Epic in March. I really plan on eating there several times during our cruise and if my experience is similar to yours I will be raising holy hell.
I have the same cabin as you but it is on deck 10. A quick question, being so close to the stairs and elevators how was the noise issue?
-
I don't cruise to stay in my cabin drinking beer, per se, but I do spend a lot of time in my cabin, sometimes drinking. Some go on cruises to see all the FUN shows, do tons of FUN activities, have FUN at the pool, FUN at the bar, etc. I don't need a lot of FUN but I could use a little relaxation hence sometimes just drinking wine and reading a book in my room while waiting on my room service order. To each their own!
You said it perfectly. That is the best thing about cruising. You can do as little or as much as you want to do. i like to sleep late and gamble during sea days. I like room service and TV. I have been on 15 cruises and have never been to a show.
-
Without spending a lot of money for activities and drinks you will get bored. My sister cruised and hated it. They don't drink and the Lido deck was not for them.

I had to smile. I know it is all relative but "only $21" for a shot of scotch that costs $180.00 a bottle on land.
