  1. I just recently got off the Epic from a Med and TA cruise. Electronic Cigs were being smoked everywhere. I never saw anyone being asked to go to the smoking area or to stop.

I'm a non smoker and many many people were especially using them when sitting at inside bar areas.

Didn't bother me. I know lots of people that have switched and I appreciate they are doing this instead of real cigs. Wish they had that type of substitute for all the crappy food in my life. lol

    Thanks Debbie....that is good news.

I hope the Breakaway has the same policy as the Epic.

I eat all the good food most of the time, just too much! :)

  2. Thing that gets me is all of the non-smoking diehards want people to stop smoking.

Yet when people make the attempt, the non-smoking folks force these people, to use their smoking cessation products, in the smoking area, which would be the worst place to force these people into. (like forcing someone on a diet that is life or death, into a room lined with candy and cakes, to eat their dietary meal.)

    Makes zero sense.

    Bill....

    YOU ARE SO RIGHT!!

My wife finally stopped smoking by using the electronic cigarette and now if she can only use smoking areas, it will become a strong temptation to go back.

It just does not make any sense at all.

  3. Uh Oh....

I was going to go to Rendevous with my daughter and my wife.

    She is 21 years old.

If they have the "couples only" rule, I may have to change my plans and go to Sandals or look for some type of tour.

That is too bad, I was looking forward to going there.

I am still going to e-mail them and find out.

  4. Hello Don, I got a quick answer from my e-mail, Illl copy and paste, Im very disappointed we cannot use the pools tho, we used an infinity pool in Mykeenos Greece summer before last and it was the best day of my life!

Good Morning from the Crane Guest Services

    Thank you for your email

In regards to the use of our facilities we have a day pass for the cost of $25.00which allows you access to use the beach. The day pass can be redeemed at any of our restaurants on the resort, however this does not include the use of the pool.

Unfortunately we do not have any area that you can shower and change, only our bathrooms are available. Beach chairs will be available on the beach by one of the independent business owners and should cost no more than about $15 USD per chair.

It is recommended that you contact the hotel on the day you prefer to use the day pass to inquire about our occupancy, this usually determine if day passes will be sod on the given day.

    Kind Regards

Rendal....do you have the e-mail address you used to contact the Crane Beach Hotel?

    Thanks.

  5. I had heard that NCL had stopped serving the "Cold Soups" in the dining rooms.

A number of people were going to express their disappointment that these favorite soups were discontinued when they cruised again.

Has anyone been on the Breakaway recently and been able to order those refreshing, delicious cold soups again?

I hope NCL brings them back! :)

    Don

  6. Thank you so much for all your help.

I believe I will discuss this with my wife and perhaps try Rendezvous.

Are advance reservations required for day passes at this resort?

I did check out the web site and it does look very nice.

The 5 minute taxi ride or short walk is also very appealing.

You have been a wealth of information and I greatly appreciate it. :)

    Don

  7. Yes, that is exactly what we had on the Epic. We brought our Dunkin Donuts coffee, and the 4 cup filters. PURE HEAVEN :)

What size are the 4 cup coffee filters?

    (The filters usually have numbers.)

    Don

  8. And on the Breakaway the coffee maker used single cup filter packs.

Does that mean it only makes one (1) cup of coffee at a time?

I am in a Breakaway balcony cabin. Do all category cabins have the same coffee makers?

What size filter should I bring if I am bringing my own Starbucks coffee with me?

    Don

  9. Thank you

I beliieve I went to La Toc last year and it was so nice. The swim up bar was great.

You did not mention a swim up bar at Halcyon which I really enjoyed, so we will probably go back to La Toc because of that fact.

I would rather not travel 30 - 35 minutes, so Grande will probably not been an option.

Thanks again....I will have to send an e-mail to make a reservation.

  10. Last January, I did the day pass at one of the Sandals and it was great. Can't remember which one, but it was fairly close to the port

I believe there are three Sandals.

Can anyone tell me which one has the best facilities as far as pools and restaurants / bars?

Are reservations required in advance for all of them?

    Thanks.

    Don

  11. Would you have any photos of the facilities (beach, pool and restaurant) at the Marriott?

We plan on making this our place go spend the day while in St. Kitts on our cruise in January.

Also, how far is the Marriott from where the ships dock?

    Thanks.

    Don

  12. Thank you for finding out that information.

That is disappointing information about the pools, but last time we did enjoy the beach and the restaurants.

I love the beach will still plan my day there when we arrive at Barbados.

Would you have their e-mail address so I can inquire about the day we are planning to go.

Thanks so much again for that information.......greatly appreciated!

    Don

  13. Some time ago, there was word going around that NCL was eliminating Wine Packages onboard their ships, including the Breakaway.

Many had said that it was still available and the rumor was false.

Has anyone recently been on the Breakaway and purchesed the various wine packages providing discounts on mutiple purchase of bottles of wine?

    Thanks.

    Don

  14. Crane, Crane, Crane

Post Card Views with Pink sands, beautiful, cliffs, caves, etc......elevator up cliffs to resort with food/drink.

    Agree with you 100%

Probably one of the best beaches in the world!

  15. Gotta tell you. This is better than nothing if you're a heavy drinker, but comparatively speaking, it's a lousy plan (IMHO). We have sailed the last three times on Celebrity. Each time, my wife and I got their ultimate package. The regular price is $53 plus 15% gratuity, but about 2 times a year, they have a 10% off sale and you can pre-purchase, making their price about the same as NCL. Celebrity's plan includes all spirits (mixed or straight) that are priced at $12 or less. If you pick something that is priced higher, then they charge you only the difference. I'm a Belvedere Vodka drinker....no problem. Virtually all specialty drinks were priced at $12 or less, so they were included. All coffees (including specialty coffee), sodas, beer (think it had to be $6 or less), wine ($12 or less), as well as bottled water, were included. A much better program than NCL's. Hopefully, NCL will look at their competitors and improve their program. As it stands now, I won't buy it.

    I agree....this plan sucks.

Celebrity is so much better!! We did it on the Silhouette two years ago and the specialty coffee were fantastic. Well worth it.

Please NCL....wake up and smell the roses!!

Without the martinis.....it is a bust!!

    Don
