  1. Embarkation process in Jacksonville is rather smooth if your parking there. Deck chairs are a hassle on any ship. :').

Smoke is a major problem , always.

Any time dining should be a good choice if you go early. Just to add the Elation is one of the dirtiest ships I have ever been on , the staff just don't seem upbeat and could care less . Lido tables were left uncleaned and when they did clean if you requested it ,food was still left on the tables.

Out of all the ports in FL, Jaxport is probably the worst for embarkation.

If I recall, and it's been a number of years, the onsite parking was $15/day. It's probably more now.

Wow!!!!! I bet these two posts are getting the OP really excited for her FIRST cruise!:'):')

  2. Royal would definitely be our next choice. We cruised on Oasis (first RCCL cruise) last year, and LOVED it.

Yes, at the end of the day, we missed Carnival, but those ships are amazing.

Most everything is comparable between the two lines, with the biggest exception being the entertainment. On CCL, we don't go to the shows, because they are a tad bit "cheesy", but since RCCL is KNOWN for their entertainment, we made it a point to go, and they were PHENOMENAL!

  3. Someone on our FB page for our cruise in June mentioned this this morning, but I couldn't find anything.

    This is getting ridiculous.

    ZERO common sense, today.

    So sad.

My thoughts go out to his family and friends that were onboard with him.

  4. Another vote for Lido. We always book a Lido, when we can.

Unfortunately, the Dream class is the only class where you can have 3 in a Lido balcony, so we booked Magic for June!!!:')

Cannot beat the convenience of being RIGHT THERE!!!!!

And contrary to popular belief, these cabins are QUIET!

There are big heavy doors at the end of the hallways that remain closed. You have to go through that door to get out onto the Lido deck.

    You won't be disappointed!!!

  5. You don't mention how old the kids are......

That could make all of the difference. If they are "younger", they will probably struggle to get through a 2 hour dinner that late........

You know your kids best, but you don't want to upset all of the other diners around you if they can't sit still for 30 minutes and start getting fidgety and crying/whining.......

    Good Luck!!!!

  6. These posts always turn ugly. You will get your fair share of people saying you should have turned it in, and others will agree with your decision.

I do have to disagree with an above poster who said the room steward would get it back to the right people. And while 95% of them will, there is always that small percent that may not.

It's a tough call, and clearly a personal call.

I hope the owner gets the ring back.

OP- did you try posting on the roll call for your cruise? Slim chance they may be on there, or someone may know them? Post the cabin number, date of the cruise, etc.

    Good Luck!!!!

  7. Next question...once your submit for reservations prior to setting sail...how long do you have to wait to see when your reservations are confirmed?

Usually 24-48 hours. If you don't hear by then, I would email them again.:)
