  1. We booked two balcony staterooms for the Carnival Freedom in May! 109 days to go!!

I tried to book both of the rooms at one time hoping that it would link them for me. One of them booked and the other did not at the time so I had to go back and book it separate.

Does anyone know if I can link out bookings online or should I contact Carnival or John Heald for this?

    Thanks!

  2. I would give you my advice after Carnival announces what they will be doing to the Freedom when it is in Dry dock. Don't worry, they are announcing what Freedom will get sometime last week.

I found in John Heald's Facebook that the dry dock should be done in mid April. I guess that will be the official dates. Not what I originally posted.

  3. We are looking at cruising in May on either one of these ships. We like both itentieries, both are within our price range, and both are with the duration we want.

    Which ship would you choose?

Please help if you have any experience between both of these.

  4. willow028,

Your price drop was an actual price drop because the additional taxes/fees would have been added to your onboard S&S account. Basically you paid the increase now instead of later, but you would have paid it regardless. :(

As others have mentioned the fees change many times and if your sailing is cheaper when you sail, then you'll get a credit of the difference on your S&S. A credit is always better than a charge, but look at it this way; you avoided an onboard expense that you wouldn't have expected. ;)

This is not true, or at least it wasn't the first time we cruised. We booked our cruise within two months of sailing and paid for all of it upfront. After we booked it, I did a mock booking. The rates were teh same but the taxes were up about $15/person. I asked John Heald on FB if cruisers had to pay the tax increase. He said no, but if it decreases you do get an on board credit.

Maybe you do have to pay the increase if you are paying monthly payments.

  5. I have been on two cruises on the Fantasy class. We are possibly going on the Freedom in May out of Ft. Lauderdale. On our previous cruises, we have been at the Aft of the ship. We have two new people possiby going in may with us. They both are terrified of getting sick. On the past cruises we always got an aft room.

I prefer an Aft of Fwd just for the fact of there is less foot traffic than Mid ship since I am a lite sleeper. Is there that much of a difference in the Mid than the fwd or aft on calm days or even moderate to rough sea days?

  6. I assume everything else would be the same. But, I guess I see your point,

I am in favor of this change but as for the if you don't want to go nobody is twisting your arm comment, do you know what other options there are if you don't go?

Walk around in Cozumel til 1am? Not me

what time do the pools close?

    Casino not opened.

Seaside theater is an option but what else is there to do?

Will there be comedians that night while the ship is in port?

Not a drinker so sitting at a bar is not for me.

    Bill

  7. Did anyone just watch the 20/20 episode?

How do you 'just fall' over the rails? I'm 6ft 3in and the rail is over my waste. I don't see no way that you can just lean and fall of. She had to be sitting on the rail, jumped over, or someone pushed her.

I agree that with 20/20 that they should have reviewed the footage as soon as it was called in that she was in the water instead of searching the ship for her for 20 minutes.

  8. I don't know an email, but JH posted on FB the other day that Carnival staff is not required to reply to guest emails due to their work loads. If you need a special request to contact John Heald within 5 days of the sailing and he will put in the request for you and see what he can do.

  9. Great review! I am interested in the anytime dining. We're there ,any larger tables or did there seem to be more 2 tops? We have a larger group and are trying to decide if we could get close together or not. Any other comments about it will be appreciated!

We had anytime dining on our Fantasy cruise. They had many two and four tops. They did have larger round tables also.
