No. Breakfast is served every morning in the MDR including disembarkation day. Lunch is only served in the MDR on sea days. It's exactly the same as Celebrity.
That makes sense, I'm glad I asked the question. Thanks for your help.

Are you a member of Celebrity's Loyalty Program? If so, you should check with RCL about being recognized under RCL's Crown and Anchor Society during the cruise. We joined Celebrity's Loyalty Program prior to our one Celebrity cruise and we were accordingly Elite Privileges (we are Diamond Plus on RCL).

We are one cruise away from being Elite on X. We have not signed up for RC..we want to wait until we are Elite. As I understand it, they only match the status once. So if I do it now, we will have to earn our next tier on RC instead of being matched with X.

We cruise almost exclusively with X but just booked a pacific coastal on RC due to school schedule and cost. This is our first RC cruise. From reading the boards, it sounds like the MDR serves breakfast, lunch and dinner each day. Is that correct? On X, breakfast and lunch are offered in MDR on select days, usually sea days and disembarkation.
What other differences should we be aware of?
Thanks and aloha!

Unfortunately my three kids and husband keep my schedule pretty full...no time to play tour guide here!! Enjoy your trip...let me know if you have other questions or need other suggestions.

That's a good amount of time. I'd play it safe and leave little beach by 2pm. If you want to stay on the west side (Lahaina), I'd suggest renting snorkel gear and going to Honolua bay. It's my favorite snorkel spot. Star Noodle is a great place for lunch (owner was on Top Chef).

It's a great beach but it's a long way from Lahaina, it's 1-1.5 hours once you're in the car. There's only one road connecting the west side to the south side. If there's an accident, mudslide or brush fire you could be stuck for hours. How long are you in port?

I live on Maui. Hawaii is very friendly. Is your ship visiting Kahului or Lahaina?

I worked in the hospitality industry for a very long time in revenue management. As a general rule, the cost to acquire new customers is much higher than the cost to retain current customers. While you always have to look for new revenue sources and continually optimize your business mix, the intention is to add new business and not displace loyal customers. Just my two cents

It's a good idea....a compromise....1 formal night! Then again, there will be lots of people who won't want to pack formal clothes for just one night.
How about you bring your formal wear, enjoy your evening and stop worrying about what other people are wearing! Your more than welcome to wear your formal attire, it's just not required.

We have not received an email from Celebrity with regard to the dress code change and have just been told by a neighbour. We have travelled with Celebrity many times but our cruise on Dec 6th will be the last. We booked this cruise with our friends back in March and were not informed there was to be a change in policy, if we had we would not have booked. We feel we have been Mis-sold a package and have been sold something we no longer want. When we book a holiday we feel we should get what is stated in the brochure and not to be informed by a neighbour that something that is so important to us has changed. Not to be informed personally is an insult and customer relations of the worst kind. Having bought 2 new long evening gowns for this cruise I am furious at being told 3 weeks before departure I have to change my wardrobe and find something CHiC whatever that might mean. Celebrity have made a big mistake and I have many friends who will not be travelling with them again. They have now dummed down and are just like many of the other run of the mill cruises. They used to be one of the best, not any more. Watch out it'll ripped jeans shorts and t-shirts before long.
No one is saying you can't wear your new evening gowns. For those that want to dress up, your more than welcome to do so.

Your itinerary may also play a role. I find a lot less party crowds on Alaskan or Asian cruises...that may provide less triggers than expected. Your ports of call may be long enough to find a meeting in port as well. Keeping busy with positive activities and practicing a lot of self care will definitely help. Best of luck to all!

We recently drove to the Feast at Lele (they offer a nice discount for locals) and enjoyed it for the 2nd time. It's a sitdown dinner, drinks and performances depicting four Polynesian cultures...Hawaiian, Samoan, Tahitian & Maori...across from the beach. It's a little bit more than a luau but is a unique experience in Maui that we've enjoyed. Better than the OLL? To me it's just different but both are quality events run by the same company.
I agree that hotel luaus are pretty much the same although the OLL is not at a hotel & to me is the best luau. They say that their experience is Hawaiian so if anyone wants fire sword dancers they said that's Samoan & not part of Hawaii...although the Feast at Lele has Samoan fire dancers. Time will probably be a factor with any luau & leaving before the end if getting close to the final tender would be a good idea. It's about a 10 minute walk along Front Street from the Feast at Lele to the tender pier but probably quicker than getting a cab from a Ka'anaplali hotel luau.
What was the Kamaaina rate at Feast of Lele?

We've been to Alaska twice (third sailing is May 29) and we've been on Millie twice as well. Bingo will happen on each sea day. There will be trivia, cooking contest, pool volleyball competition and more. If there are enough teens participating in the Teen program, they will put together activities for them too. Enjoy your cruise, we love Alaska and Celebrity!

It sounds like you answered that question for yourself. Everyone values different things, sounds like this HAL cruise is more convenient for you and it's priced attractively....a win win! We live on Maui and will be boarding the solstice in Sep 2016 bound for Sydney. Really looking forward to the trip!

We live on Maui and will be boarding the Solstice on Maui, going to Sydney. You just need to call Celebrity and get approval ahead of time.

We were in AQ in Nov/Dec 2014 and we struggled with the portion sizes. Some dishes were very small (manicotti) and others were large (duck breast). We ended up ordering 4 courses each night, so that we had enough to eat if the entree was small. This worked well for us. Enjoy your cruise!

We were in 1132 on Millie last month and loved the room. Wouldn't hesitate to book it again!

A little update, I called the TA customer service, who called Celebrity and Celebrity updated the booking and it now shows as "booked". Our CC numbers are still missing from the booking but the TA swears it's on the reservation. I've asked for a copy of the Celebrity statement, hopefully I receive that soon.
By the way, the TA name rhymes with Tru Ton!! :)

So, I booked an AQ class room yesterday on a popular discount cruise travel agency website. Got a great deal and a nice OBC. At any rate, when the reservation was transmitted to Celebrity, it shows as "on hold" instead of confirmed or booked. Our CC numbers are missing from the booking as well.
Today (24 hours after booking) I reached out to the TA customer service reps and they tell me our CC numbers are in the Celebrity system and that it's Celebrity's IT department's fault for showing it as "on hold" instead of confirmed or booked.
I really could care less who's at fault, I just want to make sure my booking is correct. Has anyone else run into this issue when booking through their TA? If the TA is correct and it's the Celebrity's fault, I can't imagine I'm the only one with this issue.

We are first timers on RC (cruise with X). I understand the entertainment on RC is much better. Can you give me an idea of the shows currently on Explorer? We will not have the dreamworks shows, correct?
