  1. Substituting OBC will likely change based on length of cruise. May be a better deal for some.

Switching to a lower fare with out S&S with a non-refundable deposit takes away some options to change to a future promo.

Whatever gets you to the high seas that you are good with is a win.[emoji6]

  2. Cruises, just like airlines, have dynamic pricing on inventory which can change up or down any given day. So percentage off sales may have a different base price every day in some categories.

Perks may added for a period of time during a sale.

That being said, I booked a cruise yesterday and another one today under Sip and Sail for less than I could before the sale without the perks. Go figure.

    YMMV.

  3. I use a beverage package and like to get my wife and I a latte and a muffin at Cafe B and take it back to the cabin. Unfortunately, on a recent cruise they offered only a regular-size cup, unlike my most-traved line which offers BIG to go cups. Not enough.

I ask for a third latte, which worked but only depending on the baristta

Going back in September. Is there a better way without traipsing down a second time?

    Thanks!

  4. Hello everyone need some

Advise. I am gong to purchase the all inclusive drink card on our next cruise. I remember in the past people saying something a long the line is it is cheaper to purchase before you cruise as you save tax is this true. The reason I ask the Canadian dollar is very weak so it might save us a few bucks. Just wondering what is the us cost of the card as I can only find the Canadian cost

The only situation I can think of where tax would be an issue is if you purchased onboard when embarking before the ship has left port. Some port authorities collect the local sales tax in that situation.

  5. Having suffered through about thirty minutes trying to make a simple payment for a shore excursion this week on an Android device, I can second the notion they still have website problems. There is also another cruise cancelled months ago that remains in my future cruises with reminders to book shore excursions.

My guess is they initially spent a decent sum with some South Asia IT company and someone is unwilling to cut their losses and say we made a mistake.

Can't imagine why problems have existed this long without someone being given a final warning.

  6. I had a major expense due to trip interruption. I called Citi and they told me that it would have been covered under the Costco Citi Visa but I have the Costco Citi "Business" Visa which does not cover trip cancellation or interruption. Pretty disappointing.

If you are a Costco member this is a significant distinction.

Thanks for alerting us to that distinction. Just printed out the full "regular Costco Visa" benefits. They are extensive.

Paired with my Medicare Advantage worldwide emergency medical (including cruise ships), it appears I only need to supplement the package with ...

a medical evacuation supplement, either per trip or annual.

That package appears to cover everything except cancel for any reason.

Anybody see a flaw in what I've outlined?

  7. Has anyone taken the 14 day midnight Sun to Norway?Would like to know if you saw enough of the fjords and which ports or tours you enjoyed most and why? Trying to choose which itinerary to go with.:)
Did it June '17. Lots of fjords. Norway in a Nutshell, bus/train is good. Honningsvag to Cape. Tromso - a walk from ship to most beautiful arctic botanical gardens. Alesund - must do trip thru the Islands.

Trip by boat to view Pulpit Rock.

  8. It is an embarrassment. If this happened in companies I am familiar with, and it wasn't fixed in short order, people would be in the unemployment line.

Booked a cruise this week. Went to Celebrity Air. Showed me flights but would not allow me to book.

Oh...and they still show a cruise I cancelled a couple months ago.
