I think the OP is taking a ship's tour that ends in Fira and needs to take the cable car down. Chances are they tender to Athinios and only return from Fira.  AFAIK - ship excursions provide the return ticket for the cable car.

Yes that is  our experience also. Tender to Athinios for ships tour , so no cable car journey up in the morning. We have taken two ships tours the last two summers and the cable car ticket was included in the ships tour.. The length of time to wait for cable car down is totally dependent on how many and  how big the ships are. Both times we were on Azamara and never stopped walking,  straight through ticket booth to the car and straight down. This was about 1.30pm for our return to the ship.

    Hello

We have an arrival in Chioggia at 6:00 AM on final day of cruise.  Azamara recommends no flights before 1 PM out of Venice, but the flight I need to take leaves at 12:15 PM.  Can I make the 12:15 flight ?

    Thank you!

These  were the options last July with Azamara indicating  that an 11am flight was doable with departure from port at 7.15 am. We took the second transfer for a 1pm flight. Transfer time was approx one hour.

The previous cruise which was sailing through the Suez Canal to get to your cruise from Athens had to be cancelled because of the conflict in the Suez area. The ship is now sailing around Africa to get to the Mediterranean for the summer schedules. Sadly it will not get to Athens by 29 May so it is cancelled also.

On some other online forums there has been information regarding all your options and reimbursement of flights. If you used a travel agent they will have further information for you.

Hi all, we had our first Azamara cruise last year, and really enjoyed it so have been looking to book another, the prices however seem to be a lot more than our last one. One option I have noticed is a veranda guarantee on a Quest itinerary, and I would appreciate some advice regarding any potential downsides we may encounter with a guarantee booking.  We have cruised quite a bit on other lines and been in cabins front, back and middle and not been troubled by the ships movement so location is not a big deal.

Are there any obstructed balconies that may be allocated as that would be a problem ?

There is some obstruction in these balconies with the angled ironwork. But otherwise all balconies are equal, its just location, if you’re fine with that.

Thank you Combine !  I think we met on a Azamara cruise some years ago ! Or perhaps it was during that lovely time when Richard Twynam was in charge in the UK when he arranged such great events.

That information is really helpful. The new Azamara lady did get that bit right.

Will try one of the larger TA’s tomorrow as well

We did ! April 2022 on Quest.
Hope you get sorted out. Adding those two cruises together will make a great trip.

Yes they are to two cruises - a 4 night and 7 night.  I would of course expect different amounts each week.  However, after speaking with Azamara my TA has said for the two cruises combined each person would get $250 plus $75 for the B2B.  ie a total of $650 for the two cruises.

The Azamara representative told me that we would get $650 for the first short cruise and $850 for the second cruise.  I did ask her to check twice.

This is obviously a substantial difference.  I plan to try a couple of other TA's tomorrow,  I just wonder if anyone has ever had the actual amount of OBC confirmed after a phone quote or if it can be seen anywhere online.

I just did a dummy booking in a balcony V3.  ( its a quiet night on the TV!!)
Both cruises come up with $500 obc per cabin which is from the ‘up to $1000’ promotion currently  running.
The 4 nighter will have  $150 per cabin for a b2b making it $650 but the 7 nighter has $300 per cabin for the b2b making it $800. Which ties in with the figures you mentioned in your  first post of  £800 not £850 as above. These are the figures I would be expecting not £650 for both cruises as per your TA.

You may also be eligible for the ‘pay in full now and receive 10% of price less port taxes in obc’

I am interested in booking a B2B at the end of September 2024 on Onward.   I asked my TA for a quote.  I also phoned Azamara for a quote.  I spoke to a young lady in Kansas who told me she was newly assigned to the UK Desk.   The price she gave me was obviously wrong.  I asked her to recheck and got a different price, and then eventually at the third request the quote was similar to the on line price.  Slightly more than the quote from my TA.

However there was a big difference in the OBC offered  $650 for the first cruise and $800 for the second.  My TA was $650 total for the two cruises including $75 pp for the B2B.

All prices should have included the 10% discount offered in an email today for the Azamara Circle.

Is there any way to establish what the OBC should really be.  The phone call to Kansas was long and confusing.  I did ask for confirmation of price and OBC but what I got was a Booking Confirmation (showing nothing paid) showing the price but not giving any OBC details.

Is it the 4 nighter and 7 nighter ? The b2b obc is less for  the 4 nighter and it could well be less for this $1000 obc promotion. It says up to that amount but isn’t explained in the t&c s

I was just quoting the Azamara site. We had the Ultimate package on our last 2 cruises, so didn’t drink any of the included wine.

Ok thanks Denise. Ive just looked online and it does say 2 🤷🏼‍♀️
I’m hoping  that the 4 choices are there for a  while!

  9. 1 hour ago, Grandma Cruising said:

The included wines are 2 red & 2 whites which may change and a sparkling (usually a Prosecco) and a rose.

There are no wines the Premium package and the wines in the Ultimate package are by the glass (but they may not all be available on any one cruise). Other than that you can buy a wine package, buy bottles of wine or buy a glass of the wines by the glass. Alternatively you can take your own wine onboard, drink it free in your cabin or pay $10 corkage fee to drink it in a public room.

Last year we had choices of 4 reds and 4 whites in the included wines, plus a rose and a sparkling. I know you have travelled recently,  have the red and white changed to 2 now?

It’s been added in $ which is incorrect , but I have assurance by email from Azamara that it shows as two separate amounts (£&$)   at their end. They are unable to show it seperate at the moment. All will be revealed in June when we board and the £ should be converted to $ 🙏

Explanation to above. I also have some US $$ obc but the new 5% £sterling obc amount has been  added to this amount without using an exchange rate, which as  @CavershamCruiser says, devalues the discount.

If all goes to plan the £ sterling will be converted to US$ in those preceding few days prior to embarkation when any outstanding unused obc in any other currency is converted to US$$ and will show up as such  when we get onboard. 🙏

Hi, does your 5% OBC show on your booking in £ or $? Mine is in $ and therefore, because of the exchange rate, is considerably less than 5%. My TA is chasing Azamara but not having much success in getting it rectified.

  12. We’ve just taken up the 5% obc offer and we are fine with it. Paid by credit card and have  travel  insurance.
Many guests will have booked and paid in full for their long haul flights nearly a year in advance  (BA is I believe 350 days out ). In the past we have committed a fair few £s to airlines  a long time in advance with no financial or gift incentive offered.

Brilliant! I like your idea of checking with my TA to see how long the promo is available for.  We have been offered 7% for being over 365 days.  I’d like to wait til it’s 370 days if possible.  Also, could others who have booked it provide some details of what fees are deducted to determine what the amount is that the percentage is applied to? Thanks.

Here in UK , the discount is 5% of the cost of the cruise less taxes.

Random example ….cost of cruise is say £5000 of which £500 is taxes so 5% discount is £225.

I also received this 5% OBC offer. My TA confirmed with Azamara that it could be used for the cruise I was paying for and the amount would be £352. Yes it showed up in my booking online immediately BUT as $352. At today’s exchange rate I’m losing out by £77. Azamara’s IT department are apparently on the case but I’m not holding my breath. Just a warning to other Brits.

They know there is a problem.

I also had the 5% added as US$ without exchange rate to £ calculation. Myself and my TA have been assured that whilst I see it as added to my US$ obc, at their end they see two amounts, one in US$ and one in £ sterling.
I am not going to touch the £ and will await its exchange to $ in those few days prior to boarding as per usual. That’s when any unused obc in any other currency other than US$  is exchanged into $ for use on board. Its never a good exchange rate but does the job,

At what point will the itinerary change from the current one?

    Thanks,

    Melissa

Likely it arrives Dubai on 26 April as originally scheduled and then arrives Venice on 30th May to start the cruise from Venice, that fits in with about 34/35 days mentioned.

  16. Stayed here twice  (pre covid ) and also the sister hotel Canal Grande which was a bit  harder to find in the dark! Both hotels had helpful staff recommending evening eateries  and excellent service from them all. We walked  from the  bus station with luggage,  we’ve had easier walks but it’s doable. Would happily return.

  17. I would tend to agree  with @Jay19 , a quick tally of our attendance at Azamara evenings is 8 out of 18 and of those  2 were on board. When most people were off the ship we enjoyed a very leisurely evening onboard and didn't feel we were missing out.

We have chosen according to our  tastes and if we felt it really was a one off event , a never to be repeated experience, we would go. Choir and concert at Ephesus , Cellist in Dubrovnik, dance show in Havana prime examples

Since the C word perhaps some of the ports dont have the infrastructure to lay on these events nowadays. Perhaps the evening is more manageable if they bring entertainment onboard and they can control health and safety requirements and food quality for guests .

If there are evenings off ship we will still choose to our tastes.

I have traveled solo on Azamara for several years. There are solo get togethers, but they are hit or miss as far as attendance. They do organize a table in the dining room for people who would like to sit with others. It's not restricted to solo travelers. You can just tell the maitre d' that you would like to sit with others. I often ask to be seated alone, but next to another table for two (fortunately, Azamara's dining room is set up this way) because I can often strike up a conversation with a table for two that is right next to me. People on Azamara are generally quite friendly, so it is easy to engage in conversation around the ship.

We had a very enjoyable meal and chat with you when sat next to you in Prime C on Onward 29/4 Rome to Venice last year!

While logged into our account, our upcoming cruise states "Excursions coming soon".  The cruise is 6 months away, at what point would I usually have access to book them?  Thanks in advance!!

Ours is in June and although mine also says coming soon, when I click on Manage my Reservation, and scroll down to excursions (click on the pencil and paper icon ) many are already listed with times and prices .  You may be lucky.

Met Grace in January 2022 on her first contract as one of the singers with Martin Lawson also. They both made a great impression  and its wonderful to see them both come through the system and be Cruise Directors. 👏👏
