yep. I am one of the dumb ones.Have three more scheduled. Carnival and others now feel they have you where they want you. When I started few people knew the value of the cruise. Now all cruise lines do not care whether you come or not. Wait until there is another recession and see if cruising keeps its place in travel.

  2. Had a wwhite milestone card om=n my last cruise. No one ever noticed it. Carnival loyalty program is one way, Customers are loyal Carnival is not. They figure that if you are dumb anough to keep on coming back, they do not have to be loyal to you

  3. To you all calling the perk a gift, i must misunderstand what a gift if. The gift is a reward for cruising a set number of days. If it was a gift they would be giving them to everyone. I would not have cruised twenty six times if I cared about the reward. Still say this to all cruisers when you get the lanyard make sure Carnival can be read and throw it overboard, but at least quit giving them back or they will never run out.

Just noticed that the hotel doesn't have their Stay, Park and Cruise Package on their website anymore. We have been booked with them for several months now when the package was still up.  Not sure if they dropped it or you have to call and ask. However has anyone very recently used them and had not issues. I'll called and asked and they said there is not change, however I thought I would ask anyway since I hate surprises, especially since we have friends going as well and I suggested the hotel.

I talked with them today. Am booked for Park, cruise and ride for Sep 29. They said if there were enough people signed for it they would take a van to Brooklyn. If not they would help arrange travel for fee. They said that it looked like there were enough on the 29th. I think when they found out about the change in peirs they took it off

Another scenario just popped into my head. Say that at the end of our Bermuda cruise Carnival is given the okay to go back to the Manhattan Cruise Terminal. Do they A). Go directly back to the Manhattan Cruise Terminal and then transport those passengers that parked in Brooklyn, back to Brooklyn to pick up their vehicles?. Or do they B). Stop in Brooklyn to debark the ship before heading back to the Manhattan Cruise Terminal to embark the next cruise? Now we are doing a B2B. If they choose option (B), will we have to debark in Brooklyn and be transported to Manhattan to embark the ship there after she moves from Brooklyn to Manhattan? I know that B2B er's were not allowed to remain on board when a few cruises repositioned from Ft. Lauderdale to Miami. :classic_cool:

Cruises on 9/22. 9/29. anf 10/6 will go out of Brooklyn according to the letter

This is a laughable thought. It that is the case I don't think any gift is worth thousands of dollars.

If they stopped giving the gifts i probably would not go ont the next three cruises I have paid for.

Or another way to look at is they paid for the cruise and the “gift” is a gift a small sign and a thank you for their loyalty.

But the only reason o go on these cruises is for the gift. LOL

Well, yes and no. Remember, the DP gift is not just a “gift” (even tho that’s what it’s called), it’s actually a stated perk given to DPs. So if your “free” laundry comes back stained or terribly wrinkled you should just not say anything because it’s a gift? Shhhh, don’t say anything... it was a freebie and you should just accept it and move on??? That seems a tad bit silly to me.  Free or not, you are offering to do my laundry, and if it’s done poorly... I’m going to let you know.

Actually, yes, If I went to a Christmas gift exchange with a gift, and I received a dog brush (I don't have a dog) in exchange, yes, I would certainly see if someone wanted to exchange it, and I might say something to the organizer about giving ideas on next year’s flyer. That’s how people improve service, by knowing where improvement is needed.

I do wish people would stop overreacting to complaints. Telling the waiter and the Maitre ‘d that my lasagna was overcooked and dry is not the same as telling them that my MDR experience was completely ruined. Asking them to exchange it for a better one is not the same as telling them that my meals were awful. That one dish was bad. It happens. Telling them is a good thing. Improvements come from knowledge. Pretending that I’ve destroyed their lives or assuming that my whole cruise was ruined because of it is nonsense. Why would you all overreact to this simple, and useful complaint?

Carnival ain’t perfect folks, no matter how much you want people to believe that they are.  They are great, and they are my first choice of cruises. BUT, they make mistakes. And it is in THEIR best interest that we tell them about their mistakes. Period. That’s not even the least bit controversial. They can’t correct what they don’t know about. When someone does, or something is done, well, I let them know. When something is done poorly, I also let them know. My question is why aren’t the rest of you doing that??? Are you not interested in improving things?

You should be able to change the name of the person and take somebody else.

Find somebody to go and call up to change the name.

Happened to me before, called to change the name and was told it would be a new booking and I would lose the deposit for that person ($250).

Hung up and called back, got somebody else and they changed the name in a few seconds for no charge.

You are going to pay for two anyway minus the port charges. If you cannot find someone else to go do not worry about it

  10. Had several obstructed views and most often could not tell why. Usually there was a life boat around or a post. Have not seen one that is bad. That does not mean that when the person comes on and says they could not see the water that they were not right. I have never had a problem.

Speaking of them assigning your room, I have had three balconies assigned,. Last one was extended aft on a Journey cruise. One they gave me a spa with the package and one they move me to a mini suite. So do not be down because you signed up late. It will depend on what they have left and who cancels

  11. Been on three Journeys cruise and the crowds do seem to be older. Did not pay that much attention to the hair. The number of Plat and Diamond are well represented. On one we were told there were 2600, they had to separate the VIP party into two parts.
