I'd be really angry if I took them at their word and then booked tours and they cancelled.

I still have not received refunds for shore excursions on three cancelled cruises. One of them I have been waiting almost 90 days! I don’t think I would be booking any shore excursions yet.

We were booked on Allure in an ATS with another adult couple the week after thanksgiving. Without asking they switched us to what they deemed a “comparable” cabin (OS) on Liberty. Although Liberty is a beautiful ship, and the IS is nothing to sneeze at, it is miles away from comparable.  Two bedroom, two bath, enormous deck, genie service to one bedroom one bath for four adults... no even close.

The way we looked at it us thus us sue was due to COVID and we should have been given the option to lift and shift. But were told flat no. We only qualified for cruise credit.

we have now cancelled for cruise credit and rebooked the same cabin on Allure but for October. Fingers crossed.

Well, sounds familiar. We were in an A2 (4 adults) on the same date and they moved us to a two bedroom suite without notifying us. I will be requesting a refund because after this I’m not planning on ever booking a cruise with them again. I understand that these are challenging times but to give us an inferior room without offering a refund in unacceptable.

I compared my Christmas cruise on Allure for 2021 to the Christmas cruise on Liberty in 2020 and Allure was cheaper. .  More cabins to fill.

When I do a search for 7 night cruises in November/December 2021 several ships are grayed out, Allure being one of them. I guess they haven’t quite figured out what she’s doing yet.

How can they even think Star Loft to accessible JS is equitable?  I would work on them for a refund.  Good luck!

I’m in the same situation. We had a 2 bedroom aqua theater suite for a 7 night cruise and I think that they should give us the option of another star class room for the same week. I’m not going to be a happy camper when I get my letter.

I opted for the 125% future credit related to my pre-purchased onboard services (Drink Package, Internet) and filled out the ridiculous survey form.

Any idea about the response time? I'd like to move my cruise date to 2021 but not sure if this needs to be processed  first.

I did that 4 weeks ago, opting for the  125%  credit for my shore excursions.   I just received the following this week -

There has been a change to your cruise reservation or guest status. When cruise reservations are cancelled, activity or services under the cruise reservation are also cancelled. All reservations cancelled are listed below.

The credit card to which the order was charged will be credited within two billing cycles.

So much for that! I guess I will eventually get my money back.

The rules for this are listed on your credit card page when you go to the points section. Or call the credit card and ask.

I have BOA Visa card and this is what it says -

MyCruise Rewards are considered fully redeemed and used once they have been redeemed for electronic fulfillment. There are no exchanges or refunds for no-shows or unused portions of cruise arrangements obtained with the use of a reward redemption. Name changes, departure date changes and itinerary changes may be subject to penalties such as cancellation fees and/or rate increases as determined by Royal Caribbean. If rate increases or cancellation fees are assessed, those assessments may not be paid for using MyCruise Rewards and/or the original value of a reward redemption. If Royal Caribbean cancels the cruise vacation you have booked, we will offer a credit of equal value of the reward redemption. You are encouraged to review your Royal Caribbean cruise vacation brochure to determine whether or not you should purchase travel insurance in connection with your trip.

We have $300 in OBC from using our points. When I log into RC, my cancelled cruise comes up with a pop up box that says they will move it to your next cruise and there's a link to click on it. I don't have a booked cruise yet since they just decided to extend the cancellations yesterday. I hope that pop up box still comes up for me to move it to a new cruise once we book again.

Was yours one of the cruises cancelled yesterday? My (Celebrity) Cruise is still coming up showing my $1000 obc but no pop up box. Maybe I need to just give it more time.

You and I both know that Celebrity will cancel another months worth of cruises probably this weekend.  Thus why if stressed have you not cancelled?

I agree that maybe we should put all politicians on a cruise. Today all the media spins the news. Little is really truth.

PS - my friend at Celebrity said they cannot keep up with current cancellations and cannot expand staff due to social distancing rules.  It is indeed a mess.

Good luck to you and all the others. I cancelled 1 cruise. Await X to cancel the other. Cancelled air etc early this month.

If you are replying to me, I never said I was stressed. I just wished they would go ahead and cancel it so I could move on planning the next one.

I hope that you remain well.  Sending this email is a good step but 10 days post cruise?  A lot of people from that cruise might have been asymptomatic but spreading the virus in their communities over those 10 days.

So true, but I blame the testing procedure and not Celebrity for that. It is still difficult in our area (east Texas) for individuals to meet the protocol for testing. And then when you do, there is a wait to be tested and another wait for the results. I may be wrong but I feel that Celebrity probably let us know as soon as the cdc informed them.

This is true, however we have pretty much been quarantined since we have been home and of course will continue to do so. I do wish Celebrity would go ahead and extend cancellations since we have two cruises booked within the next couple months. Safe safe everybody!

  11. Just received the following email a few minutes ago-

    Dear Celebrity Infinity Passenger,

Celebrity Cruises has recently been advised that a person who sailed on the Celebrity Infinity from March 9th through 14th has tested positive for COVID-19.  Because you were a passenger on this same voyage, it is possible you were exposed to someone who was sick with COVID-19.

Out of an abundance of caution you should now follow the below procedures for self-isolation.

Stay home for 14 days from the time you returned home from the Celebrity Infinity and practice social distancing:

    1. Take your temperature with a thermometer two times a day and monitor for fever. Also watch for cough or trouble breathing.

    2. Stay home and avoid contact with others. Do not go to work or school.

    3. Do not take public transportation, taxis, or ride-shares.

    4. Keep your distance from others (about 6 feet or 2 meters).

If you get sick with fever (100.4°F/38°C or higher) or cough in the 14 days after you return from travel, please take the following precautions:

    1. Stay home. Avoid contact with others.

    2. You might have COVID-19; most people are able to recover at home without medical care.

    3. If you have trouble breathing or are worried about your symptoms, call or text a health care provider. Tell them about your recent cruise ship travel and your symptoms.

    4. Call ahead before you go to a doctor’s office or emergency room.

If you need to seek medical care for other reasons, such as dialysis, call ahead to your doctor and tell them about your recent travel on a cruise ship.

For additional information please visit the CDC website at www.cdc.gov/COVID19

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Celebrity Cruises at 1-844-418-6824 in North America or (316) 554-5961 worldwide.

    Sincerely,

    Celebrity Cruises

I called about this earlier today. The rep told me they were creating a list of those of us with BofA onboard credit, using the cancelled sailing’s reservation number. When we rebook, it should automatically apply to our new sailing. (Although I’m going to call closer to that date if I see it applied!)

Did you call the number Retired LEO listed above?

  13. Thanks for the input! I also just found something on the website that gives me hope.

  14. Forgive me if this has been covered but I did a search and could not find the answer. I recently redeemed points for $1000 onboard credit for a future cruise (in late April) that at this point has not been cancelled. Has anybody had any experience trying to get these points refunded? Any information will be greatly appreciated!    Debbie

  15. Just wondering does the  shoreside concierge not contact suite guests on a five night cruise?  We are in a Royal coming up within two weeks and still haven’t heard anything. Usually they would have contacted us by now but we usually take much longer cruises. Don’t really have any special requests but I am curious.  Debbie
