In my opinion no, we were there week of July 9th - most I wore was a fleece and rain jacket on the approach to the Hubbard Glacier. If anything I wore my light rain jacket but generally was in short sleeves
also, we did not buy hiking shoes/boots.
We did a backwoods Jeep tour - it was the best excursion of the trip
you drive the Jeep with the tour guide leading and narrating via radio. We drove through Hoonan and went up into the mountains on logging roads and down to a beach
To me it is the equivalent to Labadee in the Caribbean - happy with the experience
We left on July 9 on Celebrity Eclipse the issue was dropping the bags off and US Customs- three ships were leaving and no organization of the line at bag drop 3 hrs in line to board
