  1. I have never heard of Inside Tours. If you mean Insider Tours (https://www.insider-tour.com/), they are an established company with good reviews on TripAdvisor. If you feel comfortable with your itinerary and price, I am sure that you will be fine.

My apologies that is them. I have found them very professional in all the time I have dealt with them, and the reviews on TripAdvisor for them is excellent

  2. We have booked Inside Tours for our Baltic Cruise, as I found them to be the most willing to organise a private tour for the 4 of us that did not include too many museums and churches, and more of the every day life of Russia. They were always very quick and professional in answering our emails and have organised our visas for August very promptly. 99.9% of people on this forum will come back and say go with Alla, best guides etc as no one uses Inside tours. But if you go on TripAdvisor they are there with fantastic reviews and after reading these reviews and doing a lot of research I have decided to go with them. We are getting very exited and looking forward the tour with then. We are also doing the Pre/Post WW2/Cold War tour of Berlin with them.

  3. Brisbane in January will be hot and very humid. I would say the average is more 30-32 Celsius with high humidity. It is not the heat that affects you but the humidity, but then you could be lucky and it will be about 30 degrees with not too much humidity. New Zealand will be cooler but not as cool as Alaska, as you head further down it does get cooler, and you will be on the ship during Milford Sound and layers will be sufficient. You need to remember that the sun has a bigger bite and it is much easier to sunburn here even in New Zealand and always remember to wear sunblock and a hat. We went on a cruise in November to New Zealand last year and we had a sea day between Bay of Islands and Tauranga, I was sitting on the lawn on the top deck with a blanket around me as it was quite chilly and windy and was reading for about an hour, went back to my cabin and found that I had a very red and sunburn face and chest [emoji3]

  4. I understand speaking to the school before hand, we took our youngest out in Year 12 when we did a big family holiday and I did speak to the school about it and I know they won't happy about it but they could not stop me. But a letter that you need to take with you on holidays?

  5. Just another thing that you might not be aware of.

When you take children out of school or a least where my daughter goes you have to apply to the school for an exemption and you are given a letter to take with you. I never have been asked for it but I would not travel without it.

If you are a Centrelink client you also need to advise them of your travel plans. We learnt this the hard way when my daughters Health Care Card was cancelled as we hadn't informed them, took ages to get reinstated.

You can do this now on Your My Gov site so don't have to hang on the phone for long period.

Why do you need a letter from the school? I have never heard of this and how can a school stop you from taking your own child on holidays even if it is during school term?

  6. So here is my dilemma. Top end cruise are better in Aus. Winter but then no kids on ship for my boys to keep company. Australian summer is cyclone season and too hot and humid.

Not all of Australian summer is cyclone season and too hot and humid. If you leave from Sydney and go down to New Zealand and southern Australia the summer is nice. It is only the top end and Darwin and parts of Western Australia that are hot

  7. You will need to login into your account and it should be there in manage your booking. If you booked through a TA they should have received it by email and then forward it to you. I received my ticket approximately 6 weeks before our cruise in November from ours and we live in Australia as well

  8. You were at port and you wanted to stream some movies from your home server? You are on holidays on a beautiful ship and your concern is that you can't watch some movies and the Internet is so slow. As gopro63 pointed out what did you before the net was around? Enjoy your holidays and only use the Internet to maybe check emails and maybe a blog now and again but watch movies from your home server I think is asking a bit too much.

  9. The 3 "h's" hot, humid and horrible! I live in Brisbane and February is the worse month of the year, and it will be worse further north in Cairns. This year we have had the worst summers I have ever experienced,. Unfortunately our summer is the cruise season and if you wish to see the northern part of Australia via cruise ship you will experience hot and humid weather. It is the not the heat that is effects you but the humidity, and the humidity just takes everything out of you.

  10. Lots of research before hand helps and then try to work out a timetable of things to do but always be flexible. You could also organise car hire for a day, it helps that you are from the UK and drive on the same side of the road as us. You can do Brisbane and surrounds in 4-5 days. Enjoy the research, for me it is one of the best thing about going on holidays (other than the holiday/cruise itself) [emoji3]

  11. The university is the last stop. You can take the Miramar Ferry to Lone Pine Sanctuary where you can hold a koala. There is the Brisbane Botanical Gardens in the CBD or the Roma Street Parklands in the CBD as well. As wally_bushy has advised taking the ferry at dusk around the CBD is pretty amazing too.

  12. I agree with gazzas127 with the Sunshine Coast and Mt Cootha. I also recommend lunch one day at either Southbank or along Riverside in the city cbd. There are plenty restaurants ranging from reasonable to expensive. On a beautiful day it is wonderful sitting near the river having lunch

  13. No. It is about an hour and a bit from Brisbane. No public transport to there, unfortunately our public transport is not the best. There would be tourist coaches that you could book where they would pick you up from your hotel or another central point in the city and take you there and back. If you google "tourist bus to Australia Zoo" you will be able to find bus companies that will take you there and to the other destinations I mentioned before.

  14. Explore our city and take the rivercat (ferry) from Hamilton to the University and see our beautiful river city from the river and walk through Southbank all of this can be easily done in a day. A day trip to Moreton Island, which is a sand island and only 4 wheel drive cars can drive on. Take a tour on the island and see white sand and clear blue water. A day trip to Australia Zoo if you want to see our wildlife. A day trip to the Gold Coast but travel further than Surfers Paradise and travel to Coolangatta where you will see an amazing stretch of white sand and of course our surf. There is also a trip to the Sushine Coast or Toowoomba or Mt Tamborine. TripAdvisor is a good website to search what to do in Brisbane. October is a great time to visit though we can get some hot days. I hope you enjoy the 4 days in my beautiful city [emoji3]

  15. We were on the Aria for 3 night cruise in March. The food in MDR and Pantry are quite good. The aircon did not seem to working correctly on the ship. Very warm in Pantry and then quite cold in other areas. Do not go to the Italian restaurant. Food was not good and if you wish to go to the Chefs Table or Salt book as soon as possible as they book out very quickly. We tried to go to Salt and it was booked out but this could be because we were on a Food and Wine Cruise. It is a very old ship but the Pantry and MDR has been renovated there are lots of hidden spots to sit and relax. We had a balcony and even though the room looked very tired it was one of the largest room we have stayed in. You just need to go on the cruise with an open mind and do not compare it to Princess or Celebrity! The service was okay, some waiters had no idea what Processco was when I asked. Would I go again on a P and O cruise again? Probably not but it was a relaxing 3 night weekend break.

  16. Not sure why you feel the need to pre book. We did this as a walk up and had no problems just going in. I was a little reluctant as I figured I could better spend my time and use my Stockholm card elsewhere (this is not on the card), but this was on th DW's list. Actually turned out to be quite fun with lots of info on the group and plenty of music.

Would not be on my list for a first timer to Stockholm but if you have seen the Vasa and G S, etc it can be enjoyable.

There is an extra charge if you don't pre book. Not everyone is into historical museums. While walking there we can see other sites.

  17. From the ship to Abba you will have several options.

    1. walk from ship to harbour ferries quay at Räntmästartrappan and take the harbour ferries from there to Djurgården.

    https://www.google.se/maps/dir/%C3%96stra+Tegelviksslingan,+Stockholm/59.3247565,18.0958814/@59.3220878,18.0959105,15z/data=!4m14!4m13!1m10!1m1!1s0x465f7803dd95943f:0x819a13a4398baeb6!2m2!1d18.0967167!2d59.3156584!3m4!1m2!1d18.0840744!2d59.3211774!3s0x465f77fc2cca4e29:0x482c41eea6e4980c!1m0!3e2

    2. Take any bus, that stops at Londonviadukten , harbour ferries quay at Räntmästartrappan and then take the harbour ferries.

    3. bus/tram combo bus #53 from Londonviadukten towards Roslagstull (close to where your ship berths) to Centralstation, walk 200m to Sergelstorg and take tram #7

towards Waldermarsudde. get off at Liljevalchs/Gröna Lund

for 2 and 3 use the bus stop on the same side of the road as the quay,

    4. Not sure if this option will be available when your ship docks.

HoHo boat to Vasa museum, walk from Vasa museum to Abba museum.

    https://www.google.se/maps/dir/59.3278494,18.0902018/59.3250526,18.0971074/@59.3259858,18.0951044,925m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!4m1!3e2

    From Abba to Gamla stan;

The harbour ferries docks just a few hundred meters from the Abba museum and would be the most convenient transport.

    https://www.google.se/maps/dir/%27%27/Stockholm+Allm%C3%A4nna+gr%C3%A4nd+brygg/@59.3244918,18.0955278,19z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x0:0x4a15f07835978e47!2m2!1d18.096471!2d59.324943!1m5!1m1!1s0x465f9d5547c2528b:0x30c914a4f5a65e1d!2m2!1d18.094564!2d59.324072!3e2

Options 3 might change due to time table changes. Tickets for buses, trams and the commuter boat has to be bought in advance.

Tickets for the harbour ferries are bought at the gates to the ferry berth.

For Abba the museum slot tickets can be bought in advance to make sure that you are allowed entry to the museum if there is allot of visitors.

We will be arriving in Stockholm on the 18th August on the Celebrity Eclipse at 11.00an, but I am not sure which port. As I need to prebook the tickets for the Abba Museum can you advise what would be the earliest time i should book? Thank you!

  18. I am in the process of booking a private transfer for 4 people for London to Southampton and back for our Eclipse cruise for the middle of August this year. I have found both Blackberry cars and SBL tours. SBL tours is a private company based in Southampton, and their website is very professional and they replied to my email promptly and efficiently. Their price was slightly less than Blackberry and I would rather use a smaller local company, my query is has anyone used SBL and if so how where they?

  19. Try flying London to Australia or New Zealand, minimum 24 hours in the sardine seats. Lots of Aussies do it every day and are just happy to do so as we can see different parts of the world [emoji3]
