  1. Thanks for all the wonderful replies. I have just one question at the moment.

If everything works out and there are no major life surprises, we will be going when we will be in our early 40's(just a few years from now). Will we fit in with all the other cruisers on Celebrity? I have done some research and it seems they cater to the older crowd while Princess has older people on it too, but there are also younger couples and some kids(a mix of ages). At least what I have seen.

Or maybe it just doesn't matter. I don't know. I just don't want to stick out. I hope I am making sense. Lol

It's all about a once in a lifetime trip right? All about the itinerary? Does it really matter what the ages are of the other clientele onboard?

Definitely not Princess then, as it is a cruise and cruise ship that many older Australian go on. Celebrity is a younger clientele and you will not stand out, but if you looking at lots of thing to do on cruise day RCL will suit you much better

  2. We have done Princess and Celebrity and both thought Celebrity was much much better than Princess. As you are from the States it would not matter that Celebrity has USD on board. We cruised with the Sun Princess the first time and found the average on board was 70 plus and the entertainment was aimed at this age group we are in our 50's. It is very rough crossing the ditch over to NZ and back and we did have rough seas both times. The swells were stronger this time with Celebrity and we did not feel the rocking of the ship as we did with Princess. I am not sure it was because the Solstice was a newer ship. Service was impeccable on both ships and the food was on excellent on both as well. We found the Solstice is a beautiful elegant ship with beautiful artwork, glassware and paintings. It is a quiet ship with only one announcement from the captain a day and just so relaxing. The average age on board was around 60 and you find more British and American people than Australians. We loved Celebrity that much we booked our Baltic cruise for this year and already looking at going on the Solstice next year. It is a beautiful elegant ship

  3. Thank you all for your responses you have put my mind at ease that I can book the earlier train. Bob I saw that I had spelt Pancras incorrect but I was hoping no one would pick it up [emoji4] and I showed my husband the photo and he has watched a documentary on how they renovated the beautiful station and he is looking forward to seeing it! Thank you all again

  4. We will be disembarking from Celebrity Eclipse after a 12 day Baltic Cruise on Friday 26th August. The ship arrives at 5.30am and I think we would be able to disembark after 7.30am. We will be booking a private transport to transport us to St Pancreas to catch the Eurostar to Brussels on the same day. As I will need to book the Eurostar in the next month, can anyone advise what is the earliest boarding time I can book? I would like to book the 12.58pm train but I am concerned that I am not leaving sufficient time to disembark, pick up our bags, the drive from Southampton to London and then check in and board the Eurostar. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance

  5. That's ok - it wasn't in the official press release but I believe P&O are planning on filling this ship with children who are wagging school and their doting parents or grand parents. Basically it will be a 4000 person kids club!

Should they reserve a space for you on it?

I burst out laughing after I read this so well said!

  6. We did our washing in Port Chalmers/Dunedin. Just up the Main Street of Port Chalmers on the right hand side half way up. The dairy (convenience store) a couple of shops down sell $1 washing sachet. $3 per load in the washing machine and $4 per load for the dryer. We had hired a car that day, and then went off and explored the countryside

  7. I also work very hard and have paid taxes and done the same as you and have raised 3 wonderful adults who also work hard but seriously complaining about organising a holiday. I love organising a holiday and that is when I de-stress from my work and I do it all on my own. My TA only does the cruise side. I just think of so many people in this world who would love to be in your shoes

  8. Remember this is my opinion. It is a mix of soccer, rugby and men jumping on top of each other to catch a football It is played in some states of Australia and in Victoria it is like a religion. I have never understood the game and I am not a follower. Give me soccer anytime - just waiting for all the responses from the Victorians

  9. I would say no. You are on an American ship and your are cruising the Mediterranean. I am certain they would haven't heard of the AFL. Don't forget it is only played here in Australia and is definitely not an international game....
