Noticed you're from WI. Were you sailing out of FLL still on Central Time? :D
LuLu
No, it was eastern time.

We have been eating lunch by 11:30 am on a couple of cruises. We did not have priority boarding.

Yes, you can see fall foilage if you go north from New York or Boston but depends on the date. Peak foilage in NE is around Columbus day, that's not to say that it doesn't start a bit earlier in northern NE and later in RI and CT.
So the exact answer depends on the date you plan to travel.

We did the fall tour round trip from NYC on Oct 11 a few years ago. We were disappointed, since there was very little color at the ports we stopped at. There may have been some inland if we would have taken some shore excursions that went away from the coast a little way.

On the 2 cruises I've taken with Princess I've never seen a towel animal. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe Princess does towel animals.
We were on a Princess cruise last year with our 26 y/o DD and she was looking for towel animals. We asked the room steward and he said they do them for the rooms with kids in them. We asked him to do one for our daughters room and she had towel animals the rest of the cruise.

Thanks for the detailed review. We are going on the 12.16.12 cruise. I look forward to reading about the rest of the cruise.
