I know Bob would be upset with me for posting this but, there are too many of his friends onboard that want to know how he is.  This morning after breakfast he had a heart attack.  Fortunately, there was a doctor close by and the ship's doctor also responded. An ambulance took him to Sine Augustine Hospital. After going into the Cath Lab the doctors placed 2 stints.  He is much better, wanting to get out of bed and get something for his thrist, neither of which the wonderful nurses will allow.  He will be there at least a couple of days, more like a week. Betsy went with him in the ambulance. She, Judy and I just back on the ship to talk to the doctor. We are going to grab some lunch and head back. I will let you know how he's doing.  Please keep Bob in your thoughts and prayers. He might be able to rejoin the ship at some point. - Jim.

Have been following your cruise since day one and always looked forward to Bob's posts.  Wishing him a full and speedy recovery.

  2. Can't seem to find anything on cruises to Alaska for someone in a wheelchair.  Can anyone lead me in the direction of any posts or how to find them?  TIA

  3. I started reading about our upcoming cruise on Princess.  Someone mentioned some upgrade(?) to assure a table for two without waiting too long in the MDR?  Can any one let me know what this is about please.  Thanks.

  4. No, not particularly looking to have one, LOL.  Just heard others say on other ships that they've heard the chairs being dragged along early in the morning by the crew setting them up around the pool or people working out in the gym.

  5. I booked an upcoming cruise in Penthouse 3 cabin on the Sirena.  Was wondering as far as noise from the deck above which are not cabins.  I usually like a stateroom sandwiched in between two decks with staterooms.  This one only has penthouse cabins on the floor below common areas (pool, etc.)   Has anyone experienced a lot of noise or moving around very early in the morning from the deck above?  I chose one all the way forward under the beauty parlor thinking it might be the quietest.  Thank you in advance.

  6. From what I can see the OBC is not really that.  When I made my reservation recently and clicked on the OBC which was $300/pp the end price was $300/pp higher.  Doesn't make any sense to me.  Last year we took it and used it to pay the tips with some left over which I had to spend on something I otherwise wouldn't have bought.  This time I'm not taking it and will just pay the tips on my credit card.

I also think it would have been nice if the designers of the site had ever planned a cruise and had a vague idea about what cruisers need when doing so. Believe it or not, although it's still sorely lacking it's worlds better than when the new site launched two years ago. I suggest ONLY accessing the site when using an InPrivate or Incognito window, regardless of what device or browser you choose.

Does browsing in an InPrivate or Incognito window help.  I just did and didn't see any difference.  ??

  8. I'd have to rate Celebrity's website one of the worst to try to navigate.  If they want to sell cruises you'd think they'd make it easier to check cruises and go back and forth.  The absolute worst and very frustrating!!  Just venting!

  9. You can send out 20 items at a time.  We were in a PH on the Riviera in December.  The laundry items aren't pressed and everything else came back fine except my husbands shirt which was folded but certainly needed pressing.  Apparently you can press them in the laundry room.  We didn't need to as he just wore a shirt he'd worn before on the ship.

  10. Just got off of the Riviera this morning.  Every night we saw men in shirts with collars.  Short sleeve, golf shirts, long sleeved shirts and some, usually in the specialty restaurants, in jackets.  Heard from many people that you'd be turned away if you aren't wearing a collar. Especially out of place in the specialty restaurants.   When we were dining in Polo the other night a man came in wearing just a round neck t-shirt.  Was very surprised that they seated him.  I meant to ask the waiter but didn't get the chance.  Still wondering.

  11. Just got off of the Riviera this morning.  Were in a Penthouse 2 and loved the extra room.  Lots of storage.  Didn't use the storage in the main part of the cabin as the walk in closet has more than enough room for hanging items as well as drawers.  There are also shelves and a rack for your shoes.  The cabin itself it wonderful.  If you can swing it, I'd do it.  Didn't use the butler much except he bought our breakfast every morning and snacks in the afternoon.  Would be fine without one though.  Sent out one bag of laundry (7 items).  All came back folded nicely.  Wouldn't suggest sending button down shirts as my husbands shirt was folded but he couldn't wear it as it needed pressing too.  Had enough shirts though so wasn't a problem for him.

Loved our first Oceania cruise and will be looking forward to more.

  12. We'd prefer to dine alone most of the time.  Is there a problem on Riviera, in the MDR or specialty restaurants, finding a table for two at all times?   A friend said she and her husband had to argue with the maitre d one time.  TIA

  13. Tried looking at previous posts but see conflicting reports.   Where on the Riviera can you eat lunch on embarkation day?  Husband has difficulty walking and I want to make sure I know where we're going to eat for lunch that day so we don't have to walk around too much.  Some say the MDR is open.  Some say only for suites (which we are).  Some say it's not open.  TIA

  14. We always give the stewards who bring our breakfast to the room a few dollars every time.  Would we do that for the butler as well if he's the one that brings it?Still confused as what to tip the butler at the end of the cruise.

  15. Mura,  There's so much more to be devastated about than dinner reservations for our anniversary.  Do people really get that upset with things like that?  Will speak with our butler if there's anything he can do but will survive either way  .   I try to make lemonade out of lemons.  Life's too short.  This will be our first Oceania voyage and so looking forward to it.

Maybe  the group is taking over the space  so you may not be able to get it reinstated

If you have a TA  they should be able to speak to Oceania & work something out for you

Would another restaurant work or does it have to be Jacques??

LHT28,  didn't have to be Jacques, just thought it would be special that night.  No problem.
