If you don't like waiting, I'd say get there 2:30 or so and walk right on. If you arrive early, you'll definitely be sitting and waiting.

It's going on two weeks now that I just came back from my first cruise and I am obsessed. I want to go on another one like today.. Just wanted to know if this is normal and if you felt the same way when you went on your first cruise. I catch myself asking random people hey let's go on a cruise. So please advise if I need to seek help.. lol

Congratulations on your free cruise. I've never been offered one, but have read where some people got OV cabins or better. Heck, for free, I'd sail in one of their upper/lower inside.:D:D

THANK YOU so much for posting this wonderful review of the Dream Spa. I was fortunate enough this week to upgrade from a Cove Balcony to a Spa Balcony. There had been several price drops, and it only cost a total of $100 for both of us. Now that I see what I have waiting for me, I am VERY excited. I can't wait to get in the Tpool. In all my cruises, I've only stayed overnight 2 times, once in St. Petersburg, Russia and the other in Bermuda.

I've never had chocolate left on my pillow either. They were always on top of Fun Times (Previously the Capers). Mine have never been mint, either. They were plain chocolate but quite tasty. I usually save mine and bring them home to have on days that I really need to think about cruising....to relax.:D

I've been on the Inspiration twice and the Fascination twice. In a few days, I'll be on the Legend for a second time. I have no problem sailing the same ship again. If I'm cruising, I'm happy. I don't care which ship.:D

This was fun. When I finally made it back to the dining room (after visit with neighbors and a glass of wine to settle nerves), I told husband and tablemates about it and showed the photograph. They all wanted to see it.

 

So, we finished up and headed down to our room. That started an evening we would not forget and establishing some great friendships. We had so much fun that night because of our steward "thinking out of the box".

I agree! Some small action can really "make" a cruise. Thank you so much for sharing with us. I cruise next week and this story has really gotten me excited! I can't expect anything as cool as this, but maybe, just maybe, something else will make my cruise special.:D

December 2009, we were doing the southern Caribbean cruise out of San Juan. Loved, loved our room steward. He was so much fun.

 

As we were leaving for dinner and evening festivities one evening, my husband told him to come up with a "unique" "out of the box" towel animal.

 

After dinner, I ran back to the cabin to use the restroom and grab my camera. I zipped into the bathroom not paying attention to much. I came out and caught sight of our towel animal:

 

 

 

not all that unique. I then turned around to grab my camera and let out a blood-curdling scream. This is what I saw:

 

 

 

I thought for sure someone was under my bed. After the initial shock, I started laughing so hard. I went out onto the balcony still laughing and the neighbors leaned over to make sure I was okay. So, naturally, I invited everyone in to see MY towel animal. Our steward had used a pair of husbands pants, shoes, and lots of towels. what fun! First time I had this kind of towel animal.

I agree, I grabbed one from the buffet on a 'lark' and it was delicious. I hadn't had chocolate milk in years. I don't know if it was because I was on a cruise, because I hadn't had it in years, or why, but it was GREAT. Yes, it is definitely free and you can get it anytime.

I always carry my computer to download my digital photos. HOWEVER, I try very hard to never connect to e-mail. I don't want to know what is happening at the office or at home. I am on vacation!:D

There was no fried okra on our recent Liberty sailing. However, fried GREEN BEANS were served as a side dish one night in the dining rooms. They were awesome! (Had I known they were going to be THAT delicious, I'd have ordered extra.) I can't remember which en tree they accompanied, but I do remembering finishing off my DD's order (she and I ordered the same thing.) We're sailing again in March, and hopefully the menus will remain the same. (We'll be on the Valor this time though.):)

Yum, I love fried green beans! I get them at Fridays and they are served with wasabi sauce. They haven't been on any of my previous cruises but I'll look for them on my next Carnival cruise. Thanks for the heads up.

I enjoy good fried okra and it is DH's favorite food. It has not been served on any of the ships I have been on. I hope someone doesn't pop up with an answer that Cruise line "...." serves it. DH would make me switch!

I did this as a solo diner (DS was NOT interested!) on our 5/26 Caribbean Princess cruise -- no problems at all.

Hi, I will be boarding the Crown right after you, 10/12/08, and hope to do the Chef's Table. It sounds wonderful and well worth the price. Can anyone tell me if there were any singles in your group or only couples? My DH is not going on this cruise and I will be solo. I know they limit to 10 so I'm not certain they will allow a single person to make reservations. Any thoughts?

I don't skimp while cruising but I don't believe in wasting money either. I'd never buy art on a ship, I usually stick with the DOD's because they are on special and actually seem to taste the best for some reason. I never send my laundry out but have been known to use the coin operated machines now and again. I have a limit of what I'll lose in the casino each day. I just consider it the price of entertainment. I enjoy watching people gamble. I've only eaten in the specialty restaurant once. I think the food in the dining room is excellent and honestly don't think it's worth the extra money to eat elsewhere. I also get quite attached to my tablemates and would miss having dinner with them. I love the fruitpunch and lemonade on the Lido deck so a sodacard would be wasted on me. All in all, at the end of the week, my bill isn't bad.
