  1. I just printed my boarding pass for my cruise in a couple of weeks. I am platinum and there is no reference to FTTF. My luggage tags also say Priority. On my last cruise, the porters who took my luggage saw Priority and immediately added the orange/blue/red FTTF tags.

    I hope you have a fabulous crusie.:D

  2. I had that same experience on my last Legend cruise. I can't remember what the 'excuse' was, but it was pretty much a nightmare at the port. Police were turning all the cars away and told to come back after 2. We parked in a vacant lot a block away, and every 30 minutes drove around the block to check on progress. We are Platinum so once we get in the port, it takes very little time to get on the ship. We FINALLY boarded at 3:00PM.

So, it's choice. If you don't mind sitting round waiting, go early on the chance you can board. If you hate crowed and long lines, show up at the port later, when you think the crowds have thinned out. Regardless of what you choose, have a fabulous cruise. I LOVE the Legend!:D

  3. I'd definitely go with the Aruba itinerary. Both itineraries are to beautiful places, but I have to admit I enjoyed my time in Aruba and Curacao. I've been to so many ports multiple times, I usually just stay on the ship these days. But, I'm on a cruise to Aruba in a couple of weeks and I WILL get off to enjoy the beach.

Regardless of what your choose, I hope you have a fabulous cruise.:D

  4. So if you're doing self assist, you can wait until 9ish and leave anything you want?

You will get very specific instructions delivered to your stateroom, and will have the CD on the tv telling you everything you need to know. Depending on the deck you are on, you will be assigned a time to disembark. There would be a time for you to carry off luggage and also a time if you choose to carry your own luggage. You can NOT leave any earlier than the time assigned, but you can leave later. There will come a time when the stragglers are asked to leave.

I hope you have a fabulous cruise! If you have any more specific questions, I'd be glad to try and answer.

  5. I always get depressed when I have to leave a ship. I immediately start planning the next one. It doesn't matter if it's a month away or a year away. I can always find things to read and cool tips to print out. I make a file folder and try to add to it weekly. By the time I cruise, I have many choices of fun things to do. Good luck! Enjoy your next cruise.

  6. I can't find my Pride photos (it's been since 2002), but the Carnival website has a partial photo that will help. Go here: http://www.carnival.com/cruise-ships/carnival-pride.aspx and click on Deck 11, then click on flashing blue circle. The photo that comes up has part of the course to the far left. I LOVED playing golf on the Pride. I'm sure your son will enjoy it as well. I took my 5 year old foster child on that cruise and he had the best time. He loved Camp Carnival and he loved playing golf with me as well as his new found friends. I hope you have a fabulous cruise.:D

  7. I was looking at the Dream out of NOLA or Magic out of Galveston for a change from the Florida departures. I'd also love to hear how they compare to MIA or FLL which I've always cruised from.

And thank you, I'm sure I will have a fabulous cruise. :)

Cruising out of NOLA will be quite different when you are cruising down the river to get to the Gulf. Also, in my experience, the port seems more congested than those in FL. I know some will say I'm wrong, but it just seems that way to me. That said, I'd cruise anywhere that the Dream goes, and I enjoy the trip down (and up) the river. I have never cruised out of Galveston so I can't tell you anything about that.

I also agree with the poster who recommended the Valor itinerary. I'm sure you'd love it. I enjoyed my time on the Valor as well, and that itinerary is great.

  8. I've been on the Legend several times and LOVE the ship. I agree with the OP, the Enchanted Forest is a great place to read, or just stare out the window at the ocean. It's a very comfortable ship, and I never felt crowded. I had regular balconies on the Legend, but have had extended balconies on other ships. They are wonderful!!! I hope you enjoy your cruise as much as I did. If you have specific questions, I can try to answer.:D

  9. I did 10 cruises last year and don't feel one bit guilty. I worked hard all my life to be able to enjoy my retirement. I did decide, though, that I'll limit to 3 or 4 a year. I really enjoy all the planning, and with cruising almost once a month, I had no time to plan.:D
