  1. All of the Main Dining Room menus will have a Classic section of 4 or so Starters and Entrees that are identical across the 4 dining rooms and will stay the same everyday. There will also be a Celebrity Signature section with an additional 4 or so Starters and Entrees that are the same across the 4 dining rooms but change daily (just like the M and S Class MDR).

In addition, each  of the 4 Dining Rooms will have a section of their restaurant’s Exclusives. That would be 3 Starters and 3 Entrees that stay the same every day that aren’t on the menu at the other 3 dining rooms.

Sounds like you can order one of the exclusives at a different restaurant based on a post above.

This link us a good one for menus but, be aware that menus can and do change… https://www.celebritycruisespresscenter.com/press-kit/10/celebrity-edge-menus/

As far as testing goes this is the current info on the Celebrity web site, note the for new bookings.

Currently all fully vaccinated guests requiring a COVID-19 test to return to their home country will be provided the option to receive complimentary testing onboard prior to disembarkation. Proof of return travel scheduled within 24 hours of disembarkation will be required. As of Tuesday, November 16, 2021, for new bookings, home country re-entry testing will be available onboard for a fee of $55 per person for an Antigen test or $95 per person for a PCR test.

This makes FAR more sense than the original announcement!

We were just told by the Celebrity agent that it was no longer available on the ship but that we could line up and get it at the terminal when we first get off..no charge was mentioned. I wonder if this is an alternative to lining up. Get it onboard for a fee. 🤔

I have not called yet to double check on my situation but my husband and I were just talking tonight about the change to testing requirements and this was exactly what he said.

Celebrity had made the change last week (or maybe the week before) from testing International cruisers that required it onboard the night before disembark (so you had your results when you left the ship) to testing in the terminal after disembark. It seemed to not go well in that people were waiting 1-3 hours for results which really caused issues with same day flights home.

I am now wondering if the email is really just a poorly worded announcement to say exactly what Cg52 has posted. That testing onboard for a fee is an option if you need to have results right away for a same day flight. And if the *option* to test at no cost in the terminal with a slower turn around time for flights the next day or so still exists.

    Time will tell!

Celebrity will be picking up the cost of the PCR testing for existing reservations from December 3-31 sailings.  The costs will be applicable to all new bookings.

They are still working on operational details.

My representative stated they are optimistic that the PCR requirement will be dropped by 2022.

This is the response I received.

Did you call the number that was listed for questions in the email? If this only applies to new bookings, I’m wondering why I received this pertaining to my existing booking (I have no cruises booked past mid-December of this year) with a link for me to click on to verify that I received the notice. I don’t plan to click the link until I verify what is going on a bit more as I suspect that would constitute accepting the new terms.

While the focus of most posts on this thread has been on Celebrity offloading the cost of the tests on the passengers, my greater concern is the fact that they will only test you if your flight home is within 24 hours of disembarkation. That means that the majority of those with flights booked the following day will not be allowed to be tested onboard.

While having to arrange a test ashore involves a certain amount of additional inconvenience, what happens if you test positive? The Safe Passage Home program, a major reason why we have booked with Celebrity promises the following:

We’re with you every step of the way no matter where in the world you travel with us. If you test positive for COVID-19 onboard during your cruise, Celebrity Cruises will cover the cost of your onboard COVID-19 medical treatment, land-based isolation, and private air transfer home for you and your traveling party, if required.

So, if your flight is on disembarkation day and you test positive onboard, Celebrity will take care of you. But if your flight is the next day, Celebrity washes their hands of you? Clearly, if you test positive the day after disembarkation, you caught the virus during the cruise, and Celebrity should provide the same level of protection and assistance to you.

Will X charge for the 2nd leg of B2B passengers

Agree with those saying the charge for the test isn’t necessarily the problem! It’s the 24 hour requirement for travel to even be eligible to be tested onboard! We have a side-by-side booked on Celebrity with 1 day in between. That fit the testing onboard the first leg (at no cost) criteria when we booked! Is it still true with this change? Celebrity set a program in place with a beginning and end date! They should not be changing the terms mid-stream that many agreed to when they booked! You really have to wonder which piece of the Safe at Sea “promise” they will change next!

Go to the "Already Booked" (upcoming cruises) area of the website, click on "Manage Reservation," click on "Before You Board" (over to the right), and look down a little ways.  There should be a button to mail luggage tags at the bottom of all the stuff about luggage tags.  That should work and avoid a phone call.

This suggestion worked for me last week!

We were on the Edge a few weeks ago and they had a special: $35 for all you can eat the first night in Raw on 5.  It was an awesome deal.

Was this something you could book prior to boarding or an offer once onboard?

Other than each cruise line has their own revenue streams. But, you’re probably right. But if it were us, I’d at least ask the question just to make sure.

Yes, absolutely! Things are changing each day. I just hope that this policy sticks around since it’s part of the Safe at Sea program that has been continued at least until the end of the year. Just in case, we are bringing the proctored self tests with us. Worst case we can test ourselves in our hotel on the day in between cruises!

    Good Times!

You would think there would be some kind of fee attached since it wasn’t another Celebrity cruise.

Not sure why they would do that. It’s the same parent company. Edited to add: We are doing this in December for 2 Celebrity cruises on different ships separated by 1 day. Even if they did charge I would be fine with it to just eliminate that hurdle between cruises!

  10. Taken directly from the Celebrity Healthy at Sea FAQ…..

Are consecutive/back-to-back cruises still an option for guests?

We can accommodate vaccinated guests on as many consecutive/back-to-back cruises as they wish. Guests who sail on back-to-back cruises must show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 and are required to take a COVID-19 test producing negative results between each sailing. This test will be administered by Celebrity Cruises at no expense to the guest, as long as your consecutive cruises are less than two days apart. Visit Guest Services while onboard to arrange this test ahead of your next cruise.   Negative COVID-19 test results acquired from a COVID-19 test taken aboard another Celebrity Cruises or Royal Caribbean International ship will be accepted as long as the test is taken within two days of embarkation for vaccinated guests.

Guests who are not fully vaccinated; or who do not wish to show proof of vaccination; or are not eligible to be vaccinated, such as children who are younger than their country’s permitted vaccination age, are not able to sail on back-to back-cruises. We will continue to evaluate this policy as public health guidance evolves.”

  11. I have had extremely long waits when calling in the afternoon EST. The last couple of times I have called Sunday evening and someone picked up right after the initial pre-recorded spiel! I had expected a long wait during which I could collect my thoughts as to why I was calling. I was caught so off guard I almost didn’t even know what to say… lol Got what I needed done. So Sunday evenings, for me, have been a good time to call!

I've had a lot of virgin bloody mary's on X, usually at the sunset bar while eating breakfast.  Anyway, sometimes they use Demitri's bloody mary mix and sometimes they mix their own up.  I've been drinking Demitri's for 20-30 years so it was a great surprise when I first saw them pull it out!   I used to be able to buy it at World Market but have had to order direct now for years.  I love the stuff.

We were introduced to Dimitri’s at the Sunset Bar on Equinox! Loved it so much that we ordered the seasoning mix from Amazon when we got home. It comes in a bottle and you just add it to your own tomato juice!!

I like clams, not sure about clamato.  Anyone try it?  I can't tell if it would be delicious or disgusting, especially first thing in the morning?

We were introduced to the Bloody Caesar by some people we met at the Sunset Bar a few years back! I would describe it as a Bloody Mary but lighter and the juice, while it still has the tomato flavor, doesn’t feel as thick (for lack of a better word) as tomato juice. Kind of like V-8 is a bit runnier than tomato juice.

I really like them but my husband still prefers the traditional Bloody Mary. If you have the beverage package you could always give it a try! If you don’t like it you don’t gave to finish it.

  14. The attached is what happened when I booked after checking prices with my Loyalty number. I decided the prices were worth the extra to go all inclusive so went ahead and booked. I have learned to screen shot everything if booking online!

Attachment 1 is the booking showing the AI, Attachment 2 is the confirmation that I received on the Celebrity site for my deposit. I noticed that, while the perks were all there and the price was correct, the Balance Due was less than it should have been. Attachment 3 is what was emailed to me after the booking.

Huge issue here in that what I booked and deposited was not what was actually booked!

I called and after awhile on hold it was resolved. The Celebrity Rep confirmed that the booking was with the loyalty rate and not AI. He got it changed over to the correct (higher) AI rate and had to manually add in the perks (which I did receive email confirmation for).

They really do need to get this fixed!

  15. We are booked for the 11/28-12/5 Edge sailing out of Port Everglades.

Since we can’t seem to leave well enough alone, we are thinking of adding on a 5-night Summit cruise from POM 12/6-12/11.

I know that there are arrangements in place for B2B cruisers on the same ship to be tested before returning to the same ship. But is there any testing available onboard at the end of our first (Edge) cruise that would work for the (2 day) embarkation testing requirement for our second (Summit) cruise? Or would we need to find a separate testing facility?

Getting pretty close to the end of the month…..an announcement of extension of the test requirement would not be amiss now……one way or the other

IMHO Celebrity has virtually nothing to lose and everything to gain by continuing the testing requirement.  It wouldn’t surprise me if it became permanent, or at the very least way into next year.  I also have an end of Nov. cruise.  Plan to order my tests soon.  Worst case I’d have them on hand if I needed them for non-travel reasons.

That’s what I’m thinking as well! Think we’ll wait another week or so to see where things are but most likely going to order soon.

  17. Does anyone know if "....travel home for you and your traveling party" means back to where you actually live? Or does it mean back to your departure port?

The reason I ask is in this document https://www.celebritycruises.com/content/dam/celebrity/pdf/cel-covid-19-cancellations-and-refunds-policy.pdf under the heading "Denial of Embarkation or Reboarding; Quarantine and/or Disembarkation" the 3rd bullet seems to contradict the 2nd bullet as to whether or not they will pay for the flight home if you did not purchase your flight through the cruise line.

I apologize if this is obvious to everyone but me...lol

My DH received it, but not me.  I filled it out and submitted for him.  We’re Elite+, but doubt if will even make areal difference.

That was the same for me! Filled it out for him and submitted. There was a box within the email that had his CC number pre-filled in. I just changed his CC number to mine, filled out the survey again and submitted again with my number for me. And now we wait to see if the points show up...lol

Nope.  Still waiting for refunds on B2B2B starting May 25.  So far I've received 9 credits to my AmEx.  Celebrity still owes me around $5,000.  Not impressed.

I was actually shocked that the refund came as quickly as it did. I was thinking it would be several months. There really doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason as to who receives what, when and how. I hope you get your refund soon especially with such a large amount due back to you!
