  1. Guindalf, Good for you in sticking to your guns and pursuing what you were promised as a resolution regardless of the amount!

So many times we read on here of people who have had problems and didn’t attempt to resolve it onboard. The overwhelming response here always is that you should have addressed it onboard. In your case, you did exactly what you should have done. You had what you thought was a resolution that was acceptable to you and Celebrity did not, initially, follow through.

Glad everything worked out well for you in the end!

  2. For $220 total for 2 I would definitely consider it depending on where the cabin is located. Some of the Aqua cabins are in less than desirable areas but others are not bad at all! Just do your research to see what’s above and around the cabin you’re looking at.

We don’t mind the MDR at all but enjoyed the quieter and more intimate atmosphere in Blu for dinner and breakfast every day. Last few cruises for us the difference has been $400+ per person over veranda which was too much for us. We have not taken advantage of Persian Gardens but have heard it’s a bit better on the S-Class ships than on the M-Class so that may matter to you, too!

......It's really a great value through ValueTrips. You have to be a Hyatt member for the breakfast and i believe it is easy to join.......

We also have stayed at Hyatt Place several times. It is a nice hotel with lots of places to eat nearby. Total Wine and Publix in the Harbor Shoppes if you need to pick anything up.  One thing that is a change since last time we booked through ValueTrips is breakfast is no longer included and is an option you can add for $11/room (not pp). From what I read the same is true for bookings through any 3rd party and not directly with Hyatt Place. Was previously included for Hyatt Members. Not a big deal since the savings for the room far outweigh the breakfast cost. We’re Hyatt Members so will ask when we check-in.

Where do I find the balance for my cruise on the Celebrity website? I got the Veteran's Day Sale Perks and received an updated

invoice via email but I can't find the info on my Celebrity Account.

    TIA!

Login to your Celebrity Account and you should see your reservation. On the far right you will see a link for Manage My Reservation... Click that. Then over to the left hand side you should see a link to Reservation Details. Click that. From there you should see some of your details such as Cabin Selection, Dining Time, Onboard Credit, Cruise Price and Balance Due... What you will not see, from what I can tell, is what your perks are. That would come from your emailed invoice from Celebrity. Hope this helps.

  5. Had the same issue here where what was showing on my reservation in my Celebrity Account as balance due did not match the invoice via email that I received after getting the new offer added to my reservation. The invoice was correct but the balance due shown for my reservation in my Celebrity Account was higher. There was a line item adding the difference as Pre-Paid Gratuities. Called Captain’s Club a couple of days ago and was told they are still trying to catch up with the correct discount codes and the balance due should be corrected soon.

Looked today and, while there is still a line item for pre-paid gratuities, the cruise totals have been adjusted to the correct amount due. I had the new promo added to my reservation on 11/7 and the accounting finally caught up today. So give it a few days to let them get caught up and then give them a call if things haven’t worked their way out.

Edited to add: OP... After re-reading, my situation is not really the same as yours. In my case I wasn’t super worried because my invoice was correct and that is my “contract” with celebrity. It was just my reservation totals in My Celebrity account didn’t match. If your invoice that was emailed is wrong, I think I would really push to get that corrected while things are still fresh. Otherwise, I’m just not sure what proof you would have as to what you booked down the road. Just my 2 cents...

.... NRDB cancelled prior to final payment due date will be forfeited. $25 per person service fee applies to changes to NRDB ship or sail date....

    Thanks Gerelmx!

I looked all over the website and I finally found where you got this info. It was in the email they sent!

So, if I am reading this correctly, the only amount I would lose for cancelling prior to final payment would be the $25 deposit. If I want to change ship or date (again, before final payment) there would be a $25 fee (and I would assume adjustment to prevailing price/perks). Sorry for being so dense but this non-refundable deposit thing is new to me.

  7. I was just coming here to remark on the same thing. I just started doing a booking for next May and am at the point of locking it in. Clicked on the link for cancellation fees just to be sure I understood them correctly and was very suprised to see this....

If you cancel your reservation after the dates listed below, you may be subject to additional fees.

    DATES.                           CANCELLATION FEES PER GUEST

October 31, 2019.          25% OF TOTAL CRUISE FARE

March 17, 2020.             50% OF TOTAL CRUISE FARE

March 31, 2020.             75% OF TOTAL CRUISE FARE

April 30, 2020.                100% OF TOTAL CRUISE FARE

Final Payment Date for the cruise I’m looking at would be March 2, 2020.

This seems to contradict the wording at the bottom of the page that says “Non-refundable deposit: Non-refundable deposit booking (“NRDB”) cancelled prior to final payment due date will receive a future cruise credit in the amount of the deposit minus a 100 USD per person service fee. FCC is non-transferable and expires after 12-months from issue date. 100 USD per person service fee applies to changes to NRDB ship or sail date.”

    Very confusing!!!

  8. If you’re asking if Celebrity will be next, they already have had many charters by Bliss Cruises. They are full charters though so shouldn’t be an issue with accidently booking the same week and getting a big surprise...lol

I envisioned the man loading up his plate quickly, too lazy to change out the tongs, which was completely silly conjecture.  We are overweight ourselves, trying to cut out white flower.  I do not believe that weight has anything to do with bad manners or rudeness, and shouldn't have posted this on CC.

No worries at all from here! I get that we all view/describe a situation differently and the situation you described was not acceptable at all

. PS... while not hugely overweight I could stand to lose a few myself 😉

Cross contamination is a serious issue and should be addressed in the proper channels and no one should be stepped on but I’m just wondering why your opinion of these people’s weight is relevant? There’s no need for discrimination on race or weight.

I agree! The situation that the OP described really was pretty horrible and should not have happened. But I must also say I don’t get where weight is relevant at all! Bad manners and rudeness really doesn’t follow any weight, age, ethnic, gender, etc lines! Bad manners is just that... Bad manners! And rudeness is just that... Rudeness!

Until Celebrity redesigned their website it always said 2- 750 ml bottles, Royals still says 2-750ml bottles.

My question still remains, as it is not stated size, does 1 1/2 liter count as 1 bottle or 2, has anyone encountered his question.

Hmmmm, I see what you are asking. I answered this question for someone on a different platform yesterday saying 750 ml because that’s what Celebrity’s written policy has always said.  I just checked and oneputt18 is correct. The size is no longer specified. Interesting.... It most likely was inadvertantly omitted during the web site redesign.

    Did they....holy cow!

Yes. Just saw the change from 18% to 20%. Seems like they are rolling out the post-revolution down-grades on some things and up-charge on others all at once. Maybe it’s good to get it all out of the way in one fell swoop! Kind of like ripping off a band-aid. Gives people some time to figure out if they’re good staying with their bookings or want to cancel.

  13. Yes, they for sure have Drambuie. I don’t see Glayva. Here’s a copy of what brands and which package they are included in. This is from our cruise in May 2018 so things may be a bit different but should give you an idea....

What a beautiful thought! I am so sorry for your loss but may you find comfort in the fact that you honored your father’s wishes so beautifully! In addition, you’ve provided great information for those who may wish to do the same.

Wow, this is starting to make me sick.  In the future, I think I'll just push those glasses to the rear of the cabinet and get a clean one from the buffet on the first day and then replace it every couple of days.

I agree, some of these scenarios are making me feel a bit nauseated although I’m not sure how many times we really use the glasses in our stateroom. We usually have the premium drink pkg so tend to drink bottled water but I’m sure this thread will pop into my head the next time I go to use a glass in a hotel or on the ship. I do like the idea of grabbing a fresh glass from the buffet if we are going to use one!

I’m sure there are potentially some pretty gross things that can happen everytime we eat or drink outside of our home. I think I’m just going to not think about it and hope the alcohol kills off anything harmful...lol

  16. Check out Hyatt Place 17th Street booked through ValueTrips.com

We’ve used them several times and it has worked pretty well! As an example, a sample price through hotel for Fall/Winter 2019 for a room where you can cancel up to 48 hours before is $261. Same room through Valuetrips is $159. Looks like you would need to add the optional $11 per room (not person) fee for the breakfast to the Valuetrips rate, if you wanted it, in order to compare apples to apples (this is a change by Hyatt from last time we booked to only include breakfast for Members).

Hotel also includes a shuttle from the FLL  airport to the hotel for $2.00 per room too! The hotel is close to shopping and restaurants. The surrounding area is nothing special but is just fine for a night before or after the cruise.

Valuetrips may take a little bit of time to get back to you but I’ve never had them not. Once your reservation is confirmed then you deal with the hotel for anything further including a cancellation if you need to.

    Hope this helps....

  17. We were in 9114 on our first Summit cruise in 2012. Liked it so much we booked 9116 the following year! Very quiet and convenient to both midship and aft elevators/stairs making a trip to the Oceanview Buffet and Sunset Bar quick and easy! Have not stayed on Deck 11 so can’t comment on those cabins but I if you want to stick with Deck 9 I think I would choose the 9112-9116 cabins over AQ under the pool deck area.

From your signature it looks as though your cruise is in 2020 after the Revolution remodel. Not sure what changes are planned during that that may affect those cabins so keep that in mind.

    Hope this helps!

  18. Just a little note to think about. Most people don’t realize it but when it is your anniversary such as the 40th as you will be celebrating it will actually be the 41st time that you are celebrating your wedding day. Unless you didn’t celebrate it 😱 the day you got married 😍

Anniversaries are how many years you have been married. Add one more for how many times you have celebrated that date,

Love this! We will be celebrating our 31st anniversary on Wednesday and our 32nd celebration! Looking forward to many more!
