Just curious - at check in, did the folks give you a hard time when you checked that box on the form? Â
Â
Mike
Â
Leave the box empty and check whatever box they tell you to.
Don't even discuss it with them.Â
Â
On our last trip we had people arguing about what box they wanted to check off, then were re-writing the forms out again to comply.

As a Brit I can understand this.Â
Most Brits do not tip in their own country, if so a very small amount.
I have British friends that cruise frequently this subject always comes up.
Invariably they remove the pre-paid gratuities. Prefering to pay as they see fit.Â
It's a cultual thing. You won't change them.
Â
Myself, I have become way too Amerian and follow the typical US tipping norm.

I managed to get the refreshment deal.
Tried to log back on later but it had crashed.
Good news, they have extended the Cyber Monday sales to compensate.
I logged on this am and had no issues .

One night the waiters do a routine that involve singing anf dancing.
On our recent Oasis they performed 2 nights including a Karioke performanceÂ
Really drags everything out.Â
Would rather they were left to deal with the service.Â

No way I would carry all 12 of my pill containers around.
I just fill the weekly containers and bring those.
The pills are easierly identifiable, and if needed I can supplpy my medical notes describing my prescriptions.

Cunard offers a nice onboard credit for serving and retired personel.
Even better if you have both served :)

We have enjoyed using them.
Bar service and lunch delivered too.Â
-
The money changind desks were open right up till we departed, but with less desks open.
Sure, give it to the crew, they can use it on their next visit. But I bet they would prefere the good old US$

We strolled around right up till around midnight visiting various bars.
No stores open that late, but the bars were doing a roaring trade.

I can not for a second think that this is hygienic.Â
A dogs anus rolling around on a seat that I may use is the last thing I want to worry about on a cruise Â
On the floor please owner!Â

So there is one in the terminals but it's not an official state store?
Â
It sells gifts and a small selection of cigars.Â
There was a report that the cigars were suspected to be fake.Â
No idea how they would get away with that in the terminal, but Cuba is an odd place.

Were there official stores near where the ships dock?
Yes a couple within walking distance.Â
Â
This is does not include the one on the terminal.Â
Poor quality, suspect over priced.Â
Â
Best find a official retail outlet.Â

The Mountain Dew I can understand.Â

Any news from Labadee ref the earthquake this past weekend.
I see the epicentre is along the coast to the West of the Labadee area.
Â
At least 10 people died as a result.
El Floridita or Cafe Taberna for evening entertainment?
in Cuba
Posted
El Floridita is crowded and expensive.Â
Pop in for a drink and get a photo with the Papa statue and the bar.
But certaily would not make a night of it.
Â
We actually met our student led bar hop from there, but soon moved on.
