  1. I noticed my Summit sailing for October 2019 had dropped so sent an email to my “big online TA” yesterday. to get the price drop. They left me a voicemail stating I must be confused about rates. No confusion but they responded after rates increased today. Will have to keep watching.

  2. Select dining will work better....there are tables that can accomodate 10 and if you speak to the Maitre d' and have a more or less standard time for dinner, they will work with you and hold the table (we've done just that). Blu is another story...they just don't have large tables, and it's first come/first served so if there is another larger group, you may have a problem. You do want concierge class cabins though if you are on the infinity (or any m-class ship)...they are about 20 sq ft larger...and that's significant. Additionally, you'll get a sit down served lunch when you embark which is a nice way to start the cruise. For those that have sailed Celebrity before, they will pay the C3 price for a C2 cabin which really only means that the location is a little more center, but not really significant. The others can go C2 or C3...they'll really never know the difference because it's only location.

Thanks for the advice. Leaning toward Concierge and Select. I think that may work best for our group.

  3. No question for us, Aqua but keep in mind that all have to be in Aqua or a suite to eat in Blu, one rule that there are no exceptions. Also Aqua is maximum of two in a cabin

Thanks. We will be booking 2 per cabin (so 5 cabins) all together whether it be Concierge or Acqua. Dining and accommodation of a table for ten is the biggest consideration. Traditional dining for us is too early or too late hence looking at MDR Select and Concierge or Acqua and Blu.

  4. I have sailed Celebrity 8 times. Some with my husband, some with my sister and 2 with 3 other couples. Have sailed Concierge on the M class but not Aqua. Looking for some advice: we are planning a girls cruise April of 2020 on the Infinity (10 of us). For half this group this will be their first cruise. Since the cabins in Concierge and Aqua are slightly bigger (beds apart) we are considering these. We don’t want to do regular balconies and traditional dining but what would accommodate dinner better: Blu with Acqua or MDR Select dining?

  5. We are in a similar situation. We had a March 2019 cruise booked on the Infinity that was chartered and rebooked on the April 13 Infinity 5 night. We were informed Thursday that this cruise was chartered. My husband and I are in the Summit October 27 this year and have also booked a January 19 on the Equinox with my sister so none of the 4 dates offered work. Twice bitten doesn’t go down well.

  6. I always book with this TA too but quite often I get the one category upgrade. It depends so always good to ask. The sale going on now you need to have pre registered to get the email so if you didn’t can’t view the deals currently being offered

I was Googling beverage packages to see if I could find out what each of them included, ie. STANDARD, CLASSIC and PREMIUM and came across this link on rccl.com and noticed the details of the price increase.

Thank you for the heads up. I managed to upgrade two of my three upcoming cruises from Classic to Premium directly with Captains Club on Monday the other I had to have my TA contact Celebrity. Celebrity allowed the $11.80 per day upgrade yesterday but only if I did upgrade yesterday.

Fig gelato is pictured above. Phenomenal. Get it. Get it. Get it. Edward had his usual vanilla gelato.

They brought a second round of double espressos by accident. Yes we drank them. Yes it kept us up!

Service was great in Tuscan. It took us a few minutes to initially meet our waiter but from then on everything was amazing. Our waiter was José from Colombia and he did a stellar job.

Paul, have been enjoying your review. After our ice storm in the Toronto area last weekend you have been a pleasant diversion. My sister and I were on the Equinox in February and agree the gig gelato was amazing!!! Thanks for sharing your experiences.

  9. Does that mean there will no immigration in Miami when we disembark?

You still have to go through immigration when you disembark. We prefer when Key West is our first stop rather than last as we avoid the whole immigration process.

  10. We have gone through thus on X a few times. We are Canadians so need to get in a separate line to present to Immigration. I would think you can make a 9:30 excursion but may need to ensure you are the line earlier rather than delaying. Once you pass the Immigration inspection your sea pass card gets punched therefore they know you have completed.

  11. I've linked reservations before and it can be difficult at best and lots of little quirks.

    1. If one person in the party booked directly with Celebrity they can link the reservations themselves.

    2. If booked with a TA your TA must do it. Celebrity will tell you to call your agent if you call into the Captain's Club.

    3. If a reservation is tagged as part of a "group" only those who booked with the same agent can be linked.

To add to the quirks. We have travelled with 4 couples and we have booked with the same TA. Some of those reservations were part of a “group” and some not. It became painful to make any reservations and link them.

  12. My sister and I did same itinerary Feb 24. I was glad to see on our last sea day the pool butlers were monitoring and enforcing the 30 minute rule. First time in over 8 Celebrity cruises that was done! We really enjoyed the Equinox but my husband and I are back to San Juan in October to sail the Summit.

  13. Wow. Thank you both. Another “busy” beach day tomorrow in St Kitts, then two sea days. I’ll get caught up then. Will try to keep providing random pics along the way.

    Cheers

Enjoying your review and photos! My son and girlfriend are on that cruise too. Weather looks great! When you disembark my sister and I will board. Love the photos of San Juan. My husband and I will be back on the Summit in October and look forward to San Juan.

  14. We are from the Toronto area and have done many cruises out of San Juan. We typically fly Southwest out of Buffalo but they don’t usually release schedules until 6 months out. They aren’t direct flights but very reasonable and of course still allow 2 checked bags.

  15. We are booked on the March 11, 2019 Infinity. I called my TA several weeks ago as the only Infinity sailing showing on the Celebrity website is March 16. They contacted Celebrity and were told it is not chartered. I still have concerns what is going on.

  16. We were just on the Equinox in October. We were in a 2C (partially) obstructed balcony. You could see out just not down to the water. The lifeboats are just at balcony level. 2D has the larger lifeboats/tender boats and present a much larger obstruction. I would book a 2B the next time on the Equinox not a 2C or 2D. Balcony is definitely worth the upgrade.
