  1. We were in suite 11654 in November, we made no reservations for Coastal Kitchen at all, just showed up and got a table. Only show that needs reservation being in a suite is Comedy Show being a suite guest. Otherwise show your gold room key and they will show you where to sit. :)

We were first time suite guests and going again to Alaska in GS 2017.

  2. We are going on Royal Caribbeans Explorer of the Seas for the first time to Alaska in June 2017. So excited! After 4 Caribbean cruises my DH thought it is time to try something else. Got our GS for the second time too. Whoever on this forum who said "Once a GS it is hard to go back to regular stateroom", they were absolutely right. ;) In planning stages only for excursions but train ride in Skagway is a must. Flying in to Seattle 2 days prior, any hotel suggestions are appreciated. :)

  3. Thank you so so much for your review! I totally almost went through it all last night and was lost for hours reading and looking at the most beautiful pictures, in aww!

We are going but not until Nov 2015 for the first time on RCC, my DH has wanted to go on Oasis for a very long time and it will happen (not until another 18 months has passed by, oh the wait!)

    Great review :D

  4. Our first cruise 2012 was 7 day Legend out of Tampa with ports Cozumel, Belize, Roatan & Grand Cayman.

We just got off the Valor May 4th and that is my favorite of the two 7 day ones we have been on, though could be port intensive for a first cruise maybe?

Hard choice as of the list you have, Valor is the only one I have been on.

We did a 5 day on Triumph in February and never again, TOO short :)

At this point I want 10 day cruises or more but will settle for 7.

    Good luck with your choice!

  5. We have paid deposit and divide the remaining balance left into months left until payment date is up and pay it as a bill every month. In the meantime we will book and pay hotel and flights sometime during the many months until final payment is due on cruise.

Last cruise we booked in Jan-13 for our April 27, 2014. (eek 457 days to wait!)

We have never paid it outright when we've booked trips, why pay all up front so early? It's ours until final payment is due but by then there isn't much to pay. Works for us. :)

  6. Squeal!!!

Cries! Where is my coffee, muffins and Danish? I got $bills in my hand for tip!

Oh this feeling will not go away until another one is booked. Now how to figure out how to get hubby to let me book a new cruise, even if another 457 days out LOL

  7. CCL Valor in November. From San Juan and who knows?. I have a few months in order to research every thing I can. I love, love, love researching.

Just got off the Valor May 4th and I want to go again! Loved the ship, itinerary and ports are gorgeous!

I envy you, my husband won't let me book one quite yet. Help! :D

  8. On the Triumph in February I hung out my order for room service for debarkation day and no one showed up, I opened the door and my order was still hanging there.

I assumed then no room service was available for this day though now I'm thinking they just forgot all about me and my coffee & goodies

    Trunk Bay, St. John

So then this is my question: We booked the Trunk Bay excursion through Carnival as we had never been & they cancelled it as they said Trunk Bay was Red Flagged that exact same morning/day. Due to ocean swelling? HMMMM. Your pics look just wonderful and now I am wondering if not enough people signed up for this excursion and that is why it was cancelled?

It bothers me, it really does.

  10. We just got off the Valor past Sunday and had cabin 6483, aft wrap.

The cabin has more space as you enter the cabin, between beds and door, no couch but 2 chairs and round table that we never used as we spent almost all our time on the aft wrap, H U G E! Had 4 chairs which two reclined, 2 loungers and 2 square metal tables.

This was the best choice made for us booking an aft wrap as we spent so much time of our "cabin" time out there.

Mornings I would get my room service coffee and goodies and sit out there for hours as I am an early bird and got lots of pictures taken entering the ports.

The Pitons in St Lucia snuck out of the morning haze and first startled me haha! Felt like being in the movie "Jurassic Park" type feeling.

In St Maarten it rained just before I woke up so I did get a beautiful rainbow picture taken as I got out with my coffee to enjoy the morning and sunrise.

Whichever you pick I'm sure you can't go wrong, for us the aft wrap was huge and well used :D

    Good luck and have fun!

  11. Living in KC makes any port feel far away LOL

We're in the middle of the country and no matter where we want to cruise, it is a plane trip away. I envy you who live close by port and can go on a whim if you choose too.

Though we did do a road trip to Galveston for our cruise on the Triumph in February and it was fun though I would rather fly to get there faster ;)

  12. We just got off the Valor this past Sunday and even though no 2.0 upgrades totally loved this ship and crew, this was Southern out of San Juan and I must say it is my favorite by far. With 2.0 upgrades I would live this itinerary all over again in a heart beat.

Did a 5 day on Triumph in February and is the same layout as the Valor, which I didn't know before we left for this last cruise. Triumph had Guy's Burger etc with upgrades and that was the thing I missed the most, of all burgers ever eaten, these are simply the best. I had 4 on a 5 day cruise and just the most delicious (to me) ever eaten. Yes, seriously :D

The décor on Valor, to me, is cozy and I loved it.

Legend was our first ship and being able to go front to back on decks without doing the maze thing was awesome, though no movie screen and on Valor was able t eat under the stars watching a movie was priceless.
